In an era of satellite television, movies on demand, online streaming and net flix; movie rental stores appear to be obsolete. Look at Blockbuster! Another one bites the dust! Keep on fighting till the end Queen Video!
I would much prefer to give my business to a small independent chain of video stores in Toronto than to a greedy fascist conglomerate corporation. Queen Video has an excellent selection of new release movies, old classics and TV programs on DVD=). The staff is knowledgeable and friendly and they do not appear to be judgemental of your rental choices. Prices are totally reasonable ranging from $5 for a 2 day new release, $4 for 7 day old release, and $9 for an entire season of a television program. It is important that people in the hood continue to rent videos and contribute to local businesses so that we do not have another one gone and another one gone!
I highly recommend Queen Video!
But make um understand its Westside foe life! -

Queen Video is a community staple. In addition to having tons of movies you usually can't find anywhere else, they have a great staff who knows most of the movies that are in stock. Unlike those big movie rental chains, Queen Video has reasonable prices. 2-day rentals are under $5, while week rentals are $3.75. You can also rent entire seasons of TV for prices ranging from $6-$10 per week, depending on the show.
The other great thing about this place is how they are laid out. Most of the wall space is filled by the newer releases, but they do a good job of placing films out there that fall under the "I've always wanted to see this..." category. Even older TV shows will have its first season on display just to get you hooked.
Memberships are free and, as mentioned, the rentals are cheap. They even have a small section of used movies and dvds for sale for cheap cheap cheap.
Every neighbourhood should really a Queen Video of their own. -

once i went in there to rent a season of gilmore girls and i made a joke about hoping the mother and daughter would do it.
they didn't find it funny.
the videos are good though. but the dvds don't always work in my stolen play station.
they are always playing annoying shitty glitch music.
