Review from Weide Z.
When we arranged our trip to Victoria thru the Vancouver Tourism Information Centre http://www.yelp.ca/biz... , this was the place they came up with that best fit our criteria.. (inexpensive, centrally located, free parking, and free Internet access)... that with the free parking.. actually made this a *better* deal than our base accommodations in Vancouver at the downtown Howard Johnshons.. So after ferrying over from Vancouver to Vancouver Island and pulling in.. I checked at the desk.. and then asked for a room with Ethernet cable access to the Internet.. rather than the more commonly available unencrypted WiFi.. to accommodate my machine.. The woman at the desk knew all about what I needed and moved us to a room on the second floor that had that.. It didn't occur to me until later that because of the switch... from the bargain rooms to a bigger more roomier place than what we had originally contracted for.. that I might possibly be charged more.. that possibility *did* occur to me at 1 a.m. that night.. just before I dropped off to sleep..
But.. no.. no extra charge.. what our contract said is what they charged.. They also allowed us to keep our car.. where we had stowed our luggage in their secured underground garage well past our official check out time.. and in general gave us no hassle.. This is the off season, of course, I don't know how they treat people in the busy summer months.. but 5 stars from Susie and me..Listed in: Vancouver - Victoria and…

Firstly upon check-in.. we literally had to wait 30 minutes before the guy checked us in. There were maybe four people in front of us - but only one guy at the desk! Let alone not being the quickest, he was also not the friendliest! We ordered specifically the suite with kitchenette.. and when we got to the room, they had the fridge and stove, etc.. but everything was locked! He didnt realize apparantly we didnt have a suite so we needed to go back down (in their elevator that seems like it was from the 1940's and doesnt fit more than 3 people) to pick up a key.. so by doing that and waiting for the elevator for 25 minutes (yes, the same people who took forever at the front desk, were also taking forever at the elevator.. 1 person at the bell desk, 1 elevator.. if you like waiting for things, this hotel is for you) - i get back down there, and he said there were no more keys! WTF! So, he followed me up to unlock everything.
Among a few of the other things that lead to my ultimate result of never staying here again: There was one parking spot left in their small garage, and it was pinned between an SUV and a concrete wall, out room recor was old and unclean, rusty bathroom fixtures, TV from the 1970's, sheets were tucked in too tight ("well why dont i just untuck them" you might say.. well i did, it was just annoying, and this is a review!), no ramp or anything in the front so with a stroller good luck getting in the front door (or of course there are mobility issues), they overcharged for a pet deposit (we have a very small dog.. and they charged $23 extra?? rip-off!, they have no breakfast, and their pool is a joke. It looked like a pool homer simpson would have made in their backyard. Their "fitness room" bahaha.. it was an old treadmill in an empty room which looks like a closet.
OK, the pros: the location is about 2-3 blocks from the causeway, harbour, etc.. but to cancel out that pro, there are also another 10 or so hotels that are also in the same radius that are 100 times better.
Wont be coming back to this one anytime soon! (booked on expedia, thought the price was attractive, but no i know - not worth it!) -

The price turned out to be less than we saw online, which, considering we came to Victoria on a long weekend in July, was a welcome bonus. Staff was friendly, they have secure underground parking, and the rooms are mostly nice. Mostly.
For the bad, they have a table fan in favor of air conditioning, and the bed was about as hard as I can handle without having problems sleeping.
Unfortunately, we didn't have the time to try out their breakfasts, nor the pool, sauna, or steam room, but despite that, I would still say we got our money's worth, which, I think says something.
