I stayed here for two nights. It was actually a great experience considering the price point compared to the other hotels in the area. The rooms are clean, the internet is free and not too slow or troublesome.

    Free parking as well!

I found the staff to be exceptionally helpful. Oscar, one of the guys behind the counter seems to be there 24/7. Kept telling him to go home and get some sleep! lol.

You also get a free breakfast from the Don Cherry's restaurant in the place and it is a great basic breakfast.

Overall, if you aren't looking for fancy or luxury and just want a clean bed to sleep in, internet, a good shower and some breakfast the next morning this place is cheaper than the rest and a great value.

This place isn't too bad, but there isn't anything fantastic happening either.

I stayed here two different times for work within a couple of week period. The first time, I was disappointed with the room. It seemed run-down, and had no fridge or microwave. The Wi-Fi signal in that room, however, was great.

On my second stay, I was in what appeared to be an updated room, albeit a haphazard update in appearance, with mix-matched furniture and a general cheap feel that you would never expect at a higher star-level hotel. In this room, the Wi-Fi was very difficult to get a connection to and was very slow. If internet is a big concern for you, I'd check that you have signal in your assigned room before getting unpacked in case you want to go back down and change rooms.

The location is good, near the Rideau shopping centre and just across the street from drug stores, a liquor store, and a grocery store.

If you want an affordable yet comfortable place to stay in downtown Ottawa, I would highly recommend this place.

For less than a $100, you can stay at the Quality Inn, just a short walk away from the Rideau Centre, Byward Market and a whole plethora of shops and stores. The two-bed room I stayed at was somewhat small, but not cramped. The front-desk was extremely helpful, and even engaged in some down-to-earth conversation. Free parking is limited, if you get there late you might have to use the paid-parking lot next door.

Don Cherry's Bar (named after the Canadian hockey icon) is downstairs and a nice place to eat. If convenience, location and affordability are your priorities, check out Quality Inn. You will find nicer places, and you will find cheaper places, but at this location its tough to beat in terms of compromising the best of both world's.

Not a bad place. The location can't be beat. Walking distance to many locations. Gym is super small but has a set of free weights with half of them missing. One treadmill, one cycle machine and one elliptical. For a better exercise I just ran up and down the 12 stories a few times. Like the other review pointed out, the staff is very friendly and overall a good place to stay if you are looking for a economical hotel in downtown. Btw i stay in various hotels 5 nights a week and this one had to have had the oldest smallest tv in any hotel i have ever stayed in. The radio was so old it had a very old school turn dial to change the radio station.

For the most part, this is a great hotel that is in a great location. My company loves putting it's employees in hotels far away from the downtown spots, but this is a rare one that has easy access to a lot of cool places to visit. I have stayed here a few times throughout the past 3 years, and have noticed things slowly being updated. Currently, the newest update is the TV's and alarm clocks. They are no longer the ones that were described in the previous review. However, for those that will be staying here in the next few months- to the right side of the building there is a huge building being torn down = construction noise at 7am. If you are a sound sleeper, you can probably sleep through it as long as you have your fan running in your room. If your not, well then request a room on with an even ending number. I had been forewarned of this and asked the night desk staff about the construction and they straight out lied and said there was no construction going on. Usually there staff is very helpful, but I think last night they were just being lazy and not wanting to reassign me a room.
