Qoola is amazing. Delicious yogurt, multiple flavours to choose from, awesome toppings - it really can't be beat. Plus, it's Canadian AND DIY - we don't need no namby-pamby counter girls to decorate our yogurt, we do it ourselves and we LIKE IT. I'm a huge fan of Qoola, and hope to see them expand beyond Burnaby and Richmond (but maybe not in a hard-to-reach area of Robson again).

Qoola is likely the only good advice my mother will ever give me, and it's a keeper.

I love getting froyo at Qoola because I can customize it how I want - how much of which frozen yoghurt flavour and which toppings I want.  I like the variety of yoghurt flavours and especially love that they list how much probiotic is in each and that they're gluten free.  Qoola charges by weight so you have to be careful or end up spending more than you planned, but it isn't that much more than most froyo places.  I love the flexibility so I'm willing to pay a little bit more.

The seating area is usually pretty busy since it's close to the SkyTrain area, and it's pretty noisy because of all of the traffic.  I find it convenient since I'm usually on that side of the mall anyway, so I make do with the noise.

The staff is also very friendly, and they even let my friend from England take a bunch of pictures of the place for his vacation/froyo blog photos.

Qoola at Metrotown is the only froyo place that is self serve, which is great. It's by weight, so be careful not to over fill those huge cups (especially at $1.39/100g), but I love that I can pick and choose my yogurt flavors and my toppings. I can never decide if I want to go fresh and fruity or mocha chocolatey. Here I can do both!
I do wish they had more exotic yogurt flavors (i love passionfruit/guava) like they do in LA, but you can only do so much I guess.
I always choose Qoola over any of the other joints at Metrotown to refresh and regroup before/during/after retail therapy. lol.

Froyo! What is there not to love about frozen yogurt. So Yummy! I love that you get to choose the flavour of frozen yogurt, the amount you want and then your super yummy toppings. Personally, I go for the tropical blend of toppings, pineapple and coconut. Yum!

Qoola has now given me a reason to frequent Metrotown once again. Can't wait until my next visit.

Froyo!! Ok.. I just really enjoy saying Froyo!

Great place to get some frozen yogurt. Their most popular flavours are original, green tea, and chocolate. Sure, they may not have as much flavours as the frozen yogurt places in the states but this is Canada, everything is smaller and less. It actually taste quite good almost like ice cream but not as smooth. But each small (6oz) only contains about 140 calories, sweet! It's even gluten free and Kosher, certified by the Orthodox Union.

It's self serve, so just grab a cup and choose your yogurt flavour(s). They have a good variety of toppings including nuts, cereals, fruits, and syrups. Once you start piling on the toppings, it can become pretty pricey as the final bill is based on the weight. Hey life is short, it won't kill you to splurge on some healthy frozen yogurt.

    More like 3.5.

I went to the one in Metrotown and I got a peach-mango yogurt with orange slushie. While there are a number of different yogurt to choose from, the number of slushies to choose was lacking with only two to choose from (one was orange and the other I believe was mango), and there should've been more fruit-flavoured yogurt that would match the mango/orange slushie more. The yoghurt/slushie itself was delicious and the service was friendly. The price was $4-something, so it's about average.

Just wanted to add that Qoola is still my favorite frozen yogurt treat, but DO NOT get the waffles.  They 'look' great and the frozen yogurt on top is of course mmm mmmm good, but the waffles are nasty.
    Cardboard flavour waffles... yuck.

Went here on Mothers day with the family to use my Groupons.

They had something for everyone. I went with vanilla and fruit toppings and everyone else went crazy with chocolate (for the yogurt and the toppings).

Pros: Super delicious, good selection, do it yourself, great customer service.

Cons: Not enough fruit options, although the mango sauce was delish.

I will def be back next time I am down and craving something healthier than ice cream. mmmmmm

The only authentic American Californian/New Yorker Frozen Yogurt. I enjoy mainly about this branch that it is self-serve. I enjoy that whole personalizing your own desert and even though it is by weight, I don't mind having a little bit more flexibility and creativity with your own food.

I just do not like where it is located. It close to the skytrain, and it is so close the exit of the mall. I prefer it to be within the mall so I don't have to walk all the way around the mall to grab a desert. It could be convient for those who want to go to just grab something, and there is SO MUCH more traffic in the area, but it is just not a ideal spot to be.

We need more branches like this with self serve FroYo within Vancouver! I say out of the three branches I have went to, this will be my favourite for sure!

    Pros:
    - operates on a simple, pay-by-weight business model, like at salad bars
    - TONS of topping choices that range from ultra healthy to sugary goodness
    - self serve: you design your snack exactly how you like it
    - friendly, helpful staff
    - offer range of yogurt flavours from original, vanilla etc. to special featured flavours e.g. mango, green tea.

    Cons:
    - at $1.59/100g, it can get a little pricey
    - they only offer large containers (which, psychologically, you'll be inclined to fill to the brim. Sneaky sneaky!)
    - the frozen yogurt can be a little on the soft side, and melts quite quickly.

My bill usually comes to about $5. The last time I was here, I got:

Vanilla yogurt with pineapple, blueberries, mochi and coconut flakes, topped with strawberry syrup.

Don't they have this in the states? Make your own ice cream/froyo concoction? Pretty interesting huh? I enjoyed my second hand portions of it from my gf. Chocolate Froyo and Strawberry Banana. Add in some fruit, oreos, cinnamon toast crunch and BAM... you got your self some Qoola magic. Besides the clueless girl who didn't understood my gf, this establishment will make some dollas with their variety of froyo, smoothies, and waffles.

P.s. we had a social shopper coupon which made this a even better experience. 11 bucks for 2. They also weight your cup to determine the price of your DIY froyo. I just love the word froyo. FROYO, FROYO, FROYO.

It is true that Qoola is the only authentic California style self-serve FroYo place in Vancouver. However, having been to one in California, Qoola definitely is not the best out there. Most of the non-fruit toppings is cereal besides the regular Oreo, chocolate chip and etc. toppings. There is only six flavours of yogurt and nothing exotic or different per se.

It is not that I do not like Qoola, I do but I am disappointed with the limited selection of toppings and flavours. I hope they'll bring in more flavours and toppings that are more gourmet, rather cereal mix toppings.

Ok, I like my frozen yogurt that's a fact but not quite enough to pay $7.00 for a small container. I did a double take when I thought I would check out the latest little bar to hit Metrotown. Being a new business the cashier gave me the grand tour which including showing me how to operate the machine and all the toppings from which I could choose from.

They have about 6 flavours of frozen yogurt, vanilla, choc, green tea and original just to name a few. The original is tangy and the most popular.

You choose from a small to large container and start pumping the machine and selecting from chopped chocolate bars, fresh fruit, sauces etc to top it with. Cool idea but a tad on the expensive side. When I was given the walk-thru the cashier said the prices average around $5 with both yogurt and toppings.

I do have to say the yogurt was refreshing and indeed tangy and went well with the sweet toppings, crushed choc bars definitely being the way to go but I just can't justify paying this much. I mean it is frozen yogurt not gold. Every time I walk by in the mall I don't see much traffic so I am thinking others must feel the same way. Good product but definitely overpriced.

QUICK! I'm in the middle of a shop therapy session, but I've turned up empty handed- I need to be comforted.

Now if you were wandering Metrotown, your first instincts would be to head to the first floor where there is a plethora of overpriced and yummy goods to eat.

Well listen-up sweet tooth, you need to take the escalator up a floor and head to the skytrain exit because heaven has come to "town."

Not only do they have 5 different yogurt flavours, but they have an endless amount of toppings that you can stack on-top of your dairy- most of which happen to be cereals and fruits, making your healthy snack experience interactive and fun.

The interesting thing about this place, as if it wasn't interesting enough, is that you pay for your treat by weighing it out; I couldn't believe that with all of the yogurt and toppings piled so high, it only came to five dollars- much less than what I would pay at other frozen yogurt stands.

Recommended 'gurt: if it's your first time, try every flavour and scower your favourite toppings to create your own concoction- life is so much better without a menu that has everything decided for you.

    Score: Ain't nothin' "Qoola."

There are no words to describe how fantastic the frozen yogurt here is.  It tastes great and it's really nice how you get to put your own amount of toppings.
It IS a bit pricey, at about $1.69/100 grams I believe, so I always end up spending about $4 there but it's worth it.

Up until today, I would have given five stars, but I received some pretty rude service, and have to lower the rating to three.

I had a groupon, and since I don't own a printer, I bring them up on my blackberry. At all other establishments, this is has never been an issue since they all use the same barcode number. So my mom and I created our frozen yogurt concoction, and went up to the till. I took out my phone, which already had the groupon loaded, but apparently it was the wrong code. i tried to fiddle around with my phone, but I automatically got the feeling that I was wasting the cashier's time. I got a sigh-and-eye-roll instead of patient service. I was pretty upset, so I ended up just paying by credit card.

aside from that, the frozen yogurt itself is delicious. though i'm quite disappointed that they no longer have the red velvet flavour, which is rich and decadent. instead, i got original and chocolate. the chocolate flavour was quite bland and disappointing and does NOT satisfy a chocolate craving. but the various toppings were fresh.

    nevertheless, i'll be back
