I went to Q4 last night for their $10 Pasta Monday. It's been a while since my last visit at the Yelp UYE two years ago and I think it's really stepped up it's game. I've only ever had the $10 pasta (it's hard to have anything else when this is such a good deal) but the quality of that speaks highly to the rest of the menu.
The service, ambiance and overall quality of the food is nothing short of semi casual, Italian fine dining. We started with the Bufala Mozzarella e Melanzane, which was tomato slices, balsalmic reduction, big slices of bufalo mozzarella, on top of panko crusted eggplant - $18. The mozzarella melted in your mouth, and was definitely the best part of this starter.
I had the spaghetti quattro, which is their signature pasta dish. It is made up of black beans, ground chicken, tomato sauce and chillies. Normally, I wouldn't go for spaghetti, but I was convinced by die hard Quattro fans, and the dish did not disappoint. It is a very unique take on the traditional spaghetti and the flavours and heat are unparalleled. It's a little greasy, but that just leaves plenty of room for foccacia dipping. Oh, their foccacia is also really good. Super rosemary-y and salty with big chunks of rock sea salt. You can also ask for some of their homemade bread sticks too.
My friend had the seafood linguini, with scallops, and dill in a cream sauce. I had a taste and it was also excellent - a mild flavour, but that could just be in contrast to my spaghetti dish.
They have 10 different $10 pasta dishes to choose from and I'm looking forawrd to trying them all, especially the Fettuccine Ghiottone - fettuccine with minced chicken, in a brandy cream! -
Review from Vincci L.
Stumbling upon this place on a quiet Monday night, we were surprised to find this place full. It was only then I remembered that it was $10 pasta night.
Not sure if it's normally like this, but I found the place to be very loud. There were several large groups, and as well, they were blasting Christmas music. I felt like I had to shout out to talk to my friend sitting across the table.
For food, we started off with a Radicchio bocconcini-grilled fresh radicchio wrapped mozzarella and prosciutto in a cherry vinaigrette. This was good, but nothing spectacular.
My pasta was a Linguine Frutti di Mare-linguine with the fish of day in a dill cream sauce. I didn't love the pasta-the fish was a bit overcooked, it was chopped up and then cooked with the cream. It was an ok dish for me.
For $10 pasta, I really shouldn't be complaining. The service was good throughout the night. Not sure if the pasta is worth making the trek though. -

We went to this restaurant because we got a groupon for a 3 course meal for two.
The restaurant had prepared a special menu just for that.
I had the baked eggplant for starter. I had a hard time swallowing it. I wanted to keep it in my mouth forever!
My boyfriend ordered the sliced cured beef, nothing unique about it.
Then came the pasta. Excellently prepared. If I could I would have ordered a bowl of the sauce! They are very generous with cheese too, which is always good.
Main course was delicious but not as special as the starter and pasta.
Last but not least Dolci, Panna Cotta - Piedmont was heaven, I didn't want to leave a bit on the plate.
The restaurant has a cozy warm environment. It gave me a real European feel.
Although we went during the week, when we walked in the restaurant was fool. So it took a while to order. You would have to make your self visible to the servers if you want something.
I wish the complimentary bread was warm. Although we ate half of it! Who can resist bread, olive oil and balsamic?
I would definitely go back to Q4, and I'm sure I will enjoy it!
Overall, good place to go for dinner for groups and family. Not so much for romantic couples if they want a quiet place. -

Strong wine list with some great Italian wines. The food was good but price for west kits, my lamb through done properly was tough, chewy. The service is superb. I tend to 1-2 Italian restaurants, this won't be one of them.

Review from Jennifer W.
Q4 is a fancy place, but I was lucky enough to find a Groupon for the restaurant! They have a great pre-fixe menu just for Groupon and they allow you use the deal at the same table!! Our reservation was for 8pm on a Friday night and the place was very lively.
We started with the complimentary bread (4/5) http://www.yelp.ca/biz...
- it's bread, you can't go wrong! would have been better warm though!
Appetizer was the Seared Albacore Tuna (5/5) (Pink peppercorn & rock salt crusted albacore tuna, finished w/mango salsa, fresh avocado & lime)
http://www.yelp.ca/biz...
- amazing until the last bite! I wanted more!
Entrees we ordered:
1) Fettuccine Tartufate with wild mushrooms in a porcini cream, finished with shaved parmigiano reggiano and truffle essence (5/5) http://www.yelp.ca/biz...
- this fettuccine puts other Italian restaurants to shame! I was really jealous that my sister had a better entree than me!
-when they said wild mushroom, they meant it! My sister was able to taste the woodear
2) 10oz New York strip loin with extra virgin olive oil, a cherry tomato, asparagus & goats cheese salad (3/5) http://www.yelp.ca/biz...
-the steak and sauce was just ok, nothing that blew my mind away like the fettuccine
Desserts we ordered:
1) Q4 Cheese Plate (4/5)(A selection of Italian cheeses and accompaniments) http://www.yelp.ca/biz...
- generous portion! we ended up taking some of the cheese home
2) Ciliege Filate Candied phyllo pastry layered w/whipped marscapone, vanilla bean, sour cherries (4/5)http://www.yelp.ca/biz...
- I've never had anything like it
Overall everything about the dining experience was great. The service was great, they didn't rush you out after your meal. The portions were generous, everyone in my party had enough leftovers for lunch the next day!
Even if you don't have a Groupon or deal for Q4, I highly recommend trying them if you are in the Vancouver/Kitslano area because you won't regret it!
The outdoor seating is in a private patio, which makes for intimate conversation with your party no matter how small or large.Listed in: Good for Groups, Outdoor Seating, Vancouver, BC - must try!

I came to this restaurant years ago for Dine Out Vancouver. I vaguely recalled it being good, so when my boyfriend and I were looking for a random dinner place, we ended up here.
Overall, I was pretty impressed.
We came at 6:30PM with no reservation, but they were able to fit us at a table as long as we left at 8:00PM. I was happy with that.
It was a little dark inside, but everything had a dark rich wood feel to it, and I'm such a sucker for dark wood.
I forgot how fancy the restaurant was, so after we came in wearing jeans, casual shirts and runners, I was expecting terrible service (because we didn't fit in AT ALL). However, that wasn't the case. The service was great: plates were cleared as soon as we were done, our waters got refilled very often and the waiters were very helpful. Sounds simple and all, but so many high-end restaurants do not do these things!
The food was great. We ordered Pasta Pazza e Pezzi, which was a 2+ person shared meal where you can try out these four pastas:
- Fettucine Ghiottone (nice thick fettucine in a creamy sauce, very good)
- Penne Arrabiata (tomato-based, mildly hot from sausage I think, not bad)
- Fusilli Tartufate (basically creamy mushroom pasta, very very good!)
- Linguine Vegetariano (tomato-based, quite good and surprisingly tasty)
Portions were decent. We were quite full after we cleared the pasta.
For dessert, I have forgotten the name but it was the signature dessert Q4 was known for. I thought it was decent, but anything with mascarpone and sweetened fried phyllo dough can't be bad. The wine sauce was a nice balance to the mascarpone.
Overall, I'd go here again, but maybe in a dress next time. -

I have long been a fan of Quattro and will continue to be. I have been to 3 of their locations (Kits, North Van and Whistler). In Whistler and North Van when I have lived in those areas Quattros was always my favourite restaurant. I have spent many a night chatting with Terry the bartender at Whistler while imbibing on a lovely pinot noir.
They do have their discrepancies and inconsistencies. Whistler is the best, followed by North Van then Kitts. The Spaghetti Quattro is best at North Van, the Cornish hen at Whistler. Everyone has a different idea of what "good" pasta is. This is not your meatballs and spaghetti mom and pop joint, if you want that head to Burnaby. If you have a palate that craves duck pasta, varieties of mushroom, something besides the norm, come one and come all.
My son has celebrated his birthday at Quartro since he was 5. Yes, a discerning palate. He was ordering his steak medium rare at that point too. I see a food critic in his future. The staff know him and love having their now 10 year old fan there every year for his Spaghetti Quattro and they always bring out a tiramisu with a candle. Service is always good.
Long and the short. I recommend Quattro. It's not the be all and end all for pasta but it's very good. Go in with good expectations not overly inflated. You must like garlic and creative pasta. If you're looking for bolognese, pesto and carbonara sauces this is not the place for you. -
Review from Annie W.
Food 3.5/5
The food here is really hit or miss depending on what you order. Solid hits are definitely the Spaghetti Q4- For Italians only & Spaghetti Bolognese. Everything else ranges from "still pretty good" to "meh."
Serivice 2.5/5
Totally agree with some of the previous assessments on some racial discrimination going on here. Still it's not the worst service I've ever experienced, at least here they try and disguise it as pretentiousness.
Ambiance 2.5/5
Nice room, dark mood lighting, old crowd. Some of the tables are placed too closely together - especially the table by the bar. We were told to "move in more" by the waiter once, and I asked him "to where?" My stomach (and I'm quite skinny) was already touching the table.
So if you're an older, white person then I'm sure you'll have a 4-5* experience. If you're asian, I say go during their $10 pasta nights - it's great food for an excellent price - and the crappy service will likely still be better than what you'll get at the average HK cafe.Listed in: Yelp 30 Day Challenge 2011

Review from Scott H.
I am the reason this is a 3 star review. I ordered poorly.
If I was basing it on service and space alone, it'd be a 5. Great on both with a top notch wine list. And if I had ordered the Spaghetti Quattro it'd be near a 5 as well, but I did not.
We weren't there on $10 pasta dish deal, so that's disappointing. Why did I not know about this?? Anyway, everyone at the table had a different dish and all had the same impression (except for the Spaghetti Quattro and Carpaccio), all dishes were good, just not great. A little bland. That includes the tiramisu for dessert.
So if you go, order smart. Get the carpaccio, get the spaghetti quattro, and have the waiter recommend a bottle of wine. It'll end up being a 5 star experience. But to get a 5 star from me, you should be able to order anything and get blown away. Anything else, may leave you wanting. -

Get the wild mushroom ravioli! super rich. Didn't care much for the tiramisu.

Service: very friendly and upbeat. The server was sociable and charming which made the experience worth while. He even placed the napkin on my lap, you don't see that every day.
Décor: Was nice and classy. It was a very nice shade of pink. It was a cross between blood orange and salmon color, very pleasing on the eyes and on the mood. I sat outside and the area wasn't too exposed as there was greenery to give you a little bit of privacy. The bathroom had a heated toilet seat which rocked. I've never seen that before. I wanted to sit on that toilet forever.
Price: I had a Groupon for the 3 course prix fixed meal which is normally $60, however, it cost $30. Not sure if I would've gone the effort of paying $60 per person, not even for a date. I would come back on the $10 pasta nights.
Food:
Seared Albacore Tuna: Pink peppercorn and rock salt crusted albacore tuna, finished with mango salsa, fresh avocado and lime. Normally I would never eat tuna that wasn't cooked all the way through, I have a paranoia about this, however, decided to go outside my comfort zone and just go for it. I am glad that I did. The tuna was moist and tender and so awesome. The peppercorn brought the flavor of the tuna into the spotlight without overpowering. The mango salsa was disappointing as they could've used sweeter mangos to compliment and offset the pink peppercorn. 4 out of 5
Oven roasted wild BC sockeye salmon with an orange and balsamic drizzle: The salmon was very tender, moist and flaky, cooked to perfection. As for the orange glaze, I smelt it, however, didn't taste anything. It was a major disappointment. They used a wide assortment of colorful vegetables that both looked pleasing to the eyes and pallet, a rainbow of vegetables. The mash potatoes were simple yet mildly spiced. 4 out of 5
Ciliege Filate; Candied phyllo pastry layered with whipped marscapone, vanilla bean and sour cherries. Dessert for me is always the best part, however, other than the vanilla bean marscapone, the rest was disappointing. I was looking for this to be the star of the show, however, it did very little to impress me. It's not an elegant dessert that you can eat with your hands, therefore, you have to use your hands which in a 5 star restaurant can make you feel awkward. I will give props to the nicely marinated cherries which was way better than the cherry sauce on my tart at the Irish Heather a few weeks ago, however, it still wasn't enough to carry the dish forward in terms of excellence. 3.5 out of 5 -
Review from Ed U.
Ah, it was our last night in Vancouver, and Jamie W. and I immediately zeroed in on the fact that Quattro offers C$10 pasta nights on Mondays and Tuesdays. Too hard to resist, we went blazing in the night to the suburban-feeling Kitsilano area to find it nearly vacant at 8PM except for one young family with a couple of overly rambunctious kids. Family friendly is not how I would describe the decor, as the ambiance is darkly Italianate like a ristorante in a Venetian alley.
Jamie W. and I were seated next to the window facing the small street-side patio. It was nice except for the occasional kid who would bang his forehead on the glass staring at what we were eating. Although the slapstick factor was funny, the resulting bump made the brat scream into the arms of his indulgent, inattentive mother. The salads, both $8.95, were quite good. Jamie went for the classic Insalata Cesare which was gratefully not overdressed (see photo).
On the other hand, I had the Insalata Arugula, quite a busy concoction mixed with juliennes of pear, shaved parmigiano reggiano and pink peppercorn in a honey vinaigrette (see photo). The pasta dishes were pretty good. Jamie ordered the Pasta di Nonno, the pasta of the day, which that evening was a gnocchi mixed with salmon, basil and shaved parmigiano reggiano in a light tomato cream sauce (see photo).
I ordered the more traditional Spaghetti Bolognese, although what came out were pasta seashells mixed with minced beef, veal and pork in a red wine tomato ragout and shaved parmigiano reggiano. No real complaint there except the sauce had a slightly overcooked taste. We were sufficiently sated and didn't try any of their desserts which look to be their speciality. Definitely worth a visit for a nice Italian meal in the Great White North. Hey kid, watch your head!... oh never mind.

AMBIANCE - 4 stars...a little too dark but certainly fitting for the cuisine

Thanks to the lovely Erin Ireland and her fabulous twitter contests, I had a chance to try Q4 on Kits.
Once we got seated, our waiter offered some complimentary bread with balsamic vinegar and olive oil. A perfect way to start our feast!
We started with the Polpette di Nonno ($12.95) Housemade meatballs in a marsala caramelized onion and parmigiano crostini. The meatballs were really good! Just the right amount of spice. The sauce was perfect for dipping.
Not big enough to share, we ordered another appetizer as well. We went for the Arancini di Riso ($14.95) Crab and rice croquetta with a caper and lemon aioli served with a shaved fennel salad. Ohhh, I was in crabcake heaven! these are by far the best crabcakes I have ever eaten! crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The sauce was a great pairing for the dish.
For our entrees we decided to try their famous Spaghetti Quattro ($17.95). Now the menu clearly states that this dish is "for Italians only" and there is a reason for that: The amount of garlic they use is massive! now don't get me wrong, this was a tasty dish , but don't be expecting a simple, tomato based spaggetti sauce. It was spicy and garlicy and did I mention spicy?
We also had their Tagliatelle con Rucola ($20.95) Tagliatelle with shaved beef tenderloin, grape tomatoes, arugula in a light tomato sauce and finished with parmigiano reggiano. Now THAT was super tasty. The sauce was creamy and thick and the beef was tender and juicy. A very satisfying meal.
I should also mention their fantastic wine list. I ordered their house wine Tormaresca - "Paiara" Negroamaro & Cabernet 2007. for $6.75 a glass, you can't go wrong! and it was delicious. -
Review from Reena M.
I'm going to have to go against everyone else and say that I was pretty disappointed in my meal.
First I should note, however, that our server was great. The hostess, Caroline, was excellent. They both came to our tables often to check on us and see how we were doing. And kept the bread coming. :-D
The food was disappointing though. Our server did a good job of upselling and I got the beet and arugula salad. It was good, but it needed something more to compliment the beets. Like candied walnuts or something... It didn't seem complete.
For the pasta, I got the pasta di nonno which was a canneloni made with duck meat and covered in an eggplant sauce. Sounds amazing right? That's what I thought, but when I got it, I found it was so bland. I couldn't taste the prominent notable duck flavour that it should have. It was a bit watery too. The eggplant sauce tasted like any other cream sauce. I had to salt and pepper it up. The whole dish tasted ordinary. I was really disappointed, since some of the other dishes did look better.
This duck canneloni could have been a success with the addition of some prominent spices or herbs. I don't know why the duck tasted so bland and not like duck.
I also tried a bit of the pasta di quattro (the one listed as 101 things to eat in Vancouver before dying). It was alright. It wasn't my favorite. Definitely had more flavour than the canneloni. But it's not my favorite. I think that is personal preference though--I feel like I've made something like that at home before.
All in all, the bread was my favorite part of the meal. I think the next time I'd get the handmade pasta or the pasta with mushrooms. Those looked amazing.
My meal: Salad + Pasta + wine + tax & 18% gratuity = $34.00
The ambience was very nice for a date or something. The desserts sounded good, so maybe next time. The bathrooms are amazing!! They actually have a bidei! that made me laugh. And the toilet seats are heated too!!!Listed in: When Yelp Leads Me Astray

Four of my girlfriends and I went to Q4 for their $10 pasta special. (Seems like a trend in the reviews.) Now here's the thing I had the same experience as CT (who I realize probably doesn't get a lot of credit as a reviewer because there's only one review, it's negative and they never came back to Yelp again).
But I agree with her overall assessment of the server. We walked in and were seated in his section and it was like he wanted nothing to do with us which he made plain by his actions of rarely visiting our table, making no effort to interact with us and us having to flag down other staff for service. I disagree with CT that he was discriminating based on race, I don't know why the bad service but let me tell you it came across loud and clear.
To the point that I don't remember my food or my experience there. Just that I wanted to leave as soon as possible. Here's the thing (I'll do a review of the other Q4), I've been to the downtown Q4 so I know the food is good and I know the service can be stellar.
But for here, no thank you. Not even $10 pasta can make me go back again. -

After all these years, I finally made it there for dinner with a group of friends. Everything was good but not wow good.
I really like the fact that their appetizer dishes are small and light to allow diners to enjoy the rich pasta dishes. Among 5 of us, we shared 3 appetizers (beef carpaccio, calamari salad, a crab cake) and the quantity was just right for us to begin our meals.
I had the linguini di mare for my main dish. Consistency of the pasta was great and the flavour was rich. However, I'm not a big fan for dry smoked salmon. I had a few pieces and left the rest of it. I enjoyed every bite of the pasta though.
Ambience was good but not memorable. However, service is exceptional and worth every penny of a 20% tip. -

They have the best chicken dish I have ever eaten!! So moist and tender!! Wow..it's not easy to have chicken cooked to perfection!! Other dishes to try are definitely their pasta dishes.
Yummy bread which is always a plus and don't forget to have dessert! By the time we came out, we were sooo full we had to do some major walking around!! Can't wait to go eat it again! :P -

Upon entering this restaurant on a wet and dreary evening... I was immediately impressed with the cozy atmosphere. Red walls, impressive chandeliers, and wood accents. The low lighting added to the warm and inviting vibe.
If you don't already know, ... Q4 is offering a special for all their pasta entrees. On Monday. Tuesday, and Wednesday - all pastas are for $10. Yes, that is 10.00 bucks!. AND you have 10 different types to choose from! A great value for this caliber of restaurant.
In our group, these were the pastas that were ordered - PENNE CON PUNTE DI ASPARAGI (tomato penne with asparagus tips, olives, and toasted pine nuts in a white wine sauce) I liked everything except the pasta itself - maybe because it was a tomato penne. The LINGUINE PESCATORE was a hit. Pasta cooked perfectly with lots of prawns - great if you are a seafood lover. The FUSILLI CON RUCOLA - the most interesting dish. Handmade fusilli with shaved beef tenderloin, arugula, fresh tomato and parmigiano reggiano.
in addition to the pastas we also had some starters. The mussels and caesar salad were both up to par.
Service was wonderful. Our server was unpretentious and friendly.
2 drinks, shared appy and 2 pastas later - we were lighter by $55 (tax + tips incl) A fabulous deal in my opinion. AND you walk away full too!Listed in: The Good Customer's Review

I love the atmosphere of this restaurant. The tiled floors and dark woods feel very Mediterranean. The lighting is low, and the service is prompt. My water was always filled, and the server was very helpful with the menu.
It's a bit of an extravagant- but if you're celebrating then this is a good place to dine. Another table near by was a wedding party enjoying their rehearsal dinner. I tried the Fusilli for my meal. It was mixed with beef, tomatoes, and arugula. It was not a lot of food- but presented very nicely on the plate. -

Years and years of driving past this hidden neighbourhood gem on 4th and Trafalgar and I finally went in to try a bite. The ambiance was cozy, rustic and romantic, yet the patrons were so diversified from the young family to the old couple celebrating their anniversary. It's definitely a Kitsilano icon.
Their menu is authentic Italian, with homemade pastas. If you ask your server to pair the items with a wine, you'll be in for a treat. We had the Ravioli Piemontese (a decadent homemade ravioli with mushrooms) paired with a delicious and rich chianti. I highly recommend it.
On Mondays & Tuesdays they have amazing $10 pastas - 10 different pastas (5 being their classics and the other 5 being some seasonal specials). You can dine in or take out - amazing option for those nights you just don't feel like cooking!
Don't wait as long as I had and check it out. -

Last night, my boyfriend and I visited Q4 for their legendary $10 pasta nights. Located on west 4th and Tragalfar in the heart of Kitsilano, Q4 serves an array of Italian cuisine. This is a great place to bring your first date or your girlfriend. The décor and ambiance of the restaurant is classic and vintage yet romantic and seductive - rustic iron chandeliers, candlelight mahogany tables and a beautifully hand painted floor. The entreprenurs behind Q4 recently opened their sister restaurant, Q4 al Centro, at the L'Hermitage Hotel in downtown Vancouver.
The pasta night features 10 different delicious pasta from their menu for only $10 on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday evenings. Below are the selections:
Spaghetti Q4- For Italians only
Fettuccine Ghiottone - Fettuccine with minced chicken, brandy and cream
Garganelli Arrabiatta - Garganelli with pancetta, mushrooms, fresh tomatoes and peperoncino
Fusilli con Rucola - Handmade fusilli with shaved beef tenderloin, arugula, fresh tomato and parmigiano reggiano
Linguine Frutti di Mare - Linguine with fresh daily seafood in a white wine, sundried tomato cream with peas
Fettuccine ai Funghi - Fettuccine with wild mushrooms, minced chicken and pancetta in a rosato sauce
Garganelli Vegetariano - Garganelli with chick peas, brocollini and fresh tomato
Spaghetti Bolognese - Spaghetti with minced beef, veal and pork in a red wine tomato ragout and shaved parmigiano reggiano
Linguine Vongole Pomodoro - Linguine with baby clams in a white wine pomodoro with basil
Fusilli Salsicce - Hand rolled fusilli with chorizo sausage and Portobello mushrooms in a tomato ragout
I started the night with the Insalata Caprese ($9.95) - Fresh bocconcini with vine ripened tomatoes and basil infused extra virgin olive oil. This dish was very average - the quality of the mozzarella and tomatoes was sub-par. I ordered the Spaghetti Q4 ($17.95) for my entree and it was delightful. If you enjoy spicy and garlic, this is a MUST TRY. The spaghetti was cooked perfectly al dente combined with lots of garlic, grounded chicken, black beans and finished with chili and olive oil. My boyfriend had the Fusilli Salsicce - the tomato ragout was average and not a lot of chorizo sausage in the pasta. The portion size for the $10 pasta are decent - I thought it would be an appetizer size but in fact, it was a full entree size.
Overall, I enjoyed my experience at Q4 on their $10 pasta nights. If you ask me if I would visit Q4 again on a regular night, my answer is No - I would go to La Quercia for my Italian fix. Food overall was average and a bit overpriced but their Spaghetti Q4 is a landmark.

Fantastic restaurant, another neightbourhood gem in my books.
I had gone with my significant other and ordered the mussels, beef carpaccio, two pastas (the one I had was garganelli with pancetta, delicious), the phyllo dessert AND wine, and with a 20% tip the bill was still under $100!
Given the qualify of the amazing food, this was an incredible surprise for Vancouver dining!
The food was great and fresh, and I must say the truffled beef carpaccio was the best carpaccio I've ever had.
Perfectly cut, melt-in-your-mouth perfection! This is their "MUST-EAT" item when I recommend to friends.
Service - fantastic.
The gentleman serving us was very attentive (even though the restaurant was completely full and very busy), and even went the extra step to provide a glass of white wine that was off menu.
The only reason that this does not get a 5-star from me is that I have to be honest and say I've had better pasta at La Buca. But everything else is top-notch! -
Review from Luisa D.
So this may be a bit skewed because we took advantage of their $10 pasta night but they sure did wow us! Today was the last day of high school and we wanted to take the kids and a couple of their friends out for dinner. Our kids have rather sophisticated tastes so I wanted something that would impress their palates and senses without costing their college funds.
As soon as we walked in I knew they were impressed. The cozy but classy decor made them feel like they were somewhere special. We ordered a bottle of Fonterutoli Badiola ($45) and some pops and juices while perusing the list of $10 pastas.
We started with two orders of grilled radicchio wrapped around mozzarella with prosciutto ($13 per order). Just enough for each of us to have a taste. I love the bitterness of radicchio and the cherry vinaigrette balanced it perfectly for the more sensitive palate.
We each had a pasta dish - mine was the Spaghetti Quattro. So filling, so delicious. You might think for $10 they're serving smaller portions. Nuh-uh! Three of the kids ordered the Fettuccine Tartufate - there's no way they could eat it all. They now have late night snacks for when they get home from their beach shenanigans and dad has his lunch for work tomorrow.
For 6 of us the bill including wine came to $150! Throw on a healthy tip and you're still coming out with a super deal. The service was professional without being intimidating. Patrick Corsi was hosting with a smile on this busy night. Rob Feenie even came in which again impressed my budding foodies. My final words would be that if you do go and take advantage of their $10 pasta please don't be that customer that only orders water along with it. Live like an Italian and have a glass of wine at least! Cincin!Listed in: My Kitsilano

When I saw the menu at Quattro on Fourth, I knew I wanted to have pasta. Of course, deciding between the various options was challenging since everything sounded so good. Fortunately for me, they had an easy out for the indecisive diner, the Pasta Pazza a Pezzi, which gives you four pasta dishes: Fettuccine Ghiottone, Penne Arrabiata, Fusilli Tartufate, and Linguine Pesto. The only catch is that two people have to order this, so I had to convince my wife on this option. It wasn't too difficult and we were quite pleased with what was presented to us. In addition to pasta, Quattro on Fourth also has fish, lamb, veal, and beef on the menu. I definitely look forward to returning to try some of the menu offerings.

Food was excellent, but our main server had a major fucking attitude problem. I was really conflicted between trying to enjoy myself and feeling like I wasn't wanted there. This is fine dining, I expect to be treated like a fine diner.

We had a great experience here. Food was prepared well, wait staff was professional and attentive. Atmosphere felt like a solid upscale restaurant, not uptight, not trying to hard, understated yet classy. We got a Father's Day Prix Fixe that included a beautiful hardcover cookbook with great recipes from their restaurants. Also - a huge thank you to the staff for going above and beyond by mailing my credit card back to me! So grateful for that one. Would definitely go back when we are visiting again from Seattle.

I am disappointed by the food everytime I dine here. The prices are very high and the food does not match up. Service is great, waiters are very friendly and informantive. Valet if needed.

Other than portion being small. I love this place: great ambiance, great taste/texture of the food, and friendly servers!
