QV's is my favourite place to eat in Victoria. Period. Their food is cheap and delicious, the decor is funky and charming, and in the summertime they open the would-be garage doors and let the sun and air in.

It was better when they were 24 hours, but they are still open pretty late in the Summer. The perfect pre/during/after club coffee/food location!

My friends and I come here all the time after school (Camosun College) for lunch or a snack. Their mac and cheese, grilled cheese sandwiches and milkshakes are to die for. Service is really quick and the food itself is really affordable. Not to mention it's right in the middle of the downtown core, right across the street from the gates of Chinatown. I would really recommend it to tourists who are looking for a bite to eat while sight seeing. The pricing is the perfect fit for any budget. Especially their breakfast menu! It's so cheap that it's worth getting there before 11AM for. They also have free wifi which makes it a great place for students to eat, study and work.  Parking is really cramped though.

You know what? I'm gonna write nice things about this place AGAIN.
I want an ROTD for this one in Victoria's Yelp even though I live in Seattle.
    There. I said it.

I love this place. Everytime I go in there with Beth we talk with their employees like they're friends of ours and their chocolate cake is FUCKING KILLER.

I bet I can't get an ROTD on a review that has curse words but I felt like cursing right then.

When I went to Victoria, BC for Spring Break, I went to QV Bakery + Cafe that's really close to Chinatown and...I felt like trying something new because you know I love being adventurous!...So...

I tried their ROOT BEER CHEESECAKE.....and I was worried that it would taste really weird but no....it was heavenly!  I loved it sooo much:) Five stars because the cheesecake was very smooth and it wasn't sugary which I liked.  I wish I took a picture!

I really like how this cafe has this FUNKY vibe to it..very playful and fun and its a very casual place with an edge.

Great staff!  I hope I can find a dessert place this good in Los Angeles that serves something AWESOME like ROOT BEER CHEESECAKE!

WILL RETURN to this great place.  I am not associated with them in any way but I think you should give tips.  They make really good stuff!

PS: In Los Angeles, my favorite place to get cake is Cake House in Sawtelle, but QV bakery offers more variety and original stuff.  So, Cake House in LA and QV Bakery in Victoria, BC.

How have I not reviewed QV yet? I am an a-hole. an A-HOLE, I tell you.

Located kitty-corner (or "catty-corner", if you're my weird-ass boyfriend) from the Harmonious Gates to Victoria's small-yet-awesome Chinatown, QV Cafe and Bakery beckons like a beacon of goodness. Want something savoury? They have pizza and pasta and quiche and salads and the like. All good. Want something sweet? I recently had an amazing cupcake the size of my head (unless my trainer asks). They have good cheesecake, rice krispie treats, pie, cookies. My boyfriend had banana cream pie and it had real banana and was fantastic.

Hot drink? Covered. Delicious coffee, hot chocolate, espresso, teas.

Cold drink? Um...I'm sure they have it. Okay, I don't actually know, but I'd put money on it.

    Music? Jukebox.

    Late hours? Check.

Space? Check. Always somewhere to sit.

Good staff? Check. Friendly, knowledgeable, hipster kids ACTUALLY nerdy enough (instead of "ironic nerdy") to be genuinely friendly, nice, decent human beings.

Cool space, colourful, in a converted gas station, with a mural on the wall outside? Check.

    I love it here.

QV's is probably my favorite hangout in Victoria, as little as I get out these days. Great staff, great food (I recommend their breakfasts and the homestyle cheeseburger with yam fries), not so great location but it's worth it. Sitting outside with a milkshake is a great way to spend a Summer day. Contrary to popular belief, they aren't open 24 hours. Back before the new owners took over they were, not anymore despite what you might read in outdated travel books.

Oh, and they have the best juke box on the Island.

I stopped by randomly on my way home one day. I was pleasantly surprised. There was friendly staff, good food, and a great atmosphere.
I got the veggie burger and fries, and shared a veggie chow mein with a friend.
Everything tasted good esp the chipolte mayo!!

QV is located in a converted gas station, complete with the original garage doors, and has a funky, playful sensibility.  It's a charming place for a meal at any time of day and best of all, cheap while still having tasty food.  It's open from 6:00am - 3:00am on weekdays, and 24 hours on the weekends.  The only thing is that it gets a bit chilly as they leave the doors open in all but the most inclement weather.

This is quickly becoming one of my favourite paper-writing destinations in the city. The coffee's not as good as Solstice--nor is the atmosphere--but it's open until midnight-ish most nights, and has vegan cookies, muffins and a few savoury dishes. The employees have always been pretty rad, cool with me hogging a table for the price of a few teas over several hours, and knowledgeable about which foods are vegan-friendly and which aren't.

Free wifi makes this the perfect spot for panicked last minute research and writing
