Very happy with my manicure.  My technician was friendly, gentle and thorough.  The salon had a nice atmosphere.  I will be going back for sure!

Went in for a pedicure because I had a 20% off entertainment book coupon, overall the service was ok but the pedicure was sub-par to others I've had in the past.

    Pros: fast, conveniently located.
Cons: water was lukewarm, the polish job was not great, leg massage was half asked.

At other salons I have had better looking pedicures while sitting in a massage chair.  The girl who did my nails was nice enough, but seemed really eager to get off work.  All in all, the experience was pretty meh - I probably won't be going back.

Pure Nail Bar is the Starbucks of Nail Salons. Not the best, far from the worst, but pleasant, clean and consistent.

What more is there to say?

I came here with a girlfriend a couple months ago not expecting much, but expecting at least a good mani/pedi to make my feet just a bit less terrifying. One thing I was excited about was that you are allowed to bring in bubbly, so my friend and I brought in a bottle of an Italian sparkling rose and prepared to be pampered.

Even though we'd booked appointments, the receptionist seemed very confused and off-put at us being there. She was more concerned with watching Sex and the City which was playing in the background. When she finally did realize we were standing in front of her, she sort of gestured to where we were to go and resumed watching Samantha espouse the benefits of wheat grass shots.

Our estheticians wouldn't look either of us in the eye and were wholly unhelpful with our requests for colours. We eventually settled on colours and the pedicure process began. We tried to open the champagne (well, sparkling wine but whatever) but every time we moved in any direction we were hissed at. So the bottle sat there, forlornly watching us, unopened and alone. By the time our manicures and pedicures were done we both just desperately wanted to get out of there, wine in tow. For $50 I guess we should have readied ourselves for less than stellar service. Lesson learned for me: avoid chains. They're successful because they're easy, not because they're necessarily good.

Honest time. The first time I walked into Pure Nail Bar on 4th Avenue, it wasn't to get a mani OR a pedi. I was actually looking for a pair of Havianna flip flops for an upcoming vacation I was taking. Shameful, I know. But, it's always the thought that counts, right? And I'm glad I thought to go into Pure in the first place, because I've been back many times since... and for more aesthetic reasons.

First off, you can forget about the neon lighting and standard, fluorescent-lit stations characteristic of most nail parlours. Rather, Pure offers a clean, white décor, sleek couches to sit on while you get yer nails did, complimentary bevies (though not the alcoholic kind; too bad), and a plasma TV airing constant reruns of Sex and the City.

The second thing you need to know is, although walk-ins are perfectly acceptable at Pure, you may very well strike out because of how busy it can get during the afternoon and on weekends. Instead, be safe and book an appointment ahead of time.

The third and final thing you need to know is that, besides the professionals who will do a bang-up job on your fingers or tootsies, and besides the many shades of colour you get to choose from, and even besides the strict hygienic code followed in the store, Pure offers a really fresh, fun, and fab nail experience, one that no girl (or great, groomed guy, for that matter) should deny herself.

I've seen the Pure Nail Bars all around Vancouver but this was the first time I'd actually been...

    Advantages:

    - Super easy to book an appointment - I got one half an hour before I needed it on a Saturday morning.

    - Sex and The City on a big screen and lots of magazines to entertain me

    - Staff were polite and friendly and the place was clean

    Disadvantages

    - A 'back to basics pedicure.' Literally a bowl of hot water on the floor and although my nails were well attended to there was not a lot of attention to my feet.

    - No massage chairs (I lovvvvvvee these)

    - No drying devices = smudged toe 30 minutes after completion

I can't really fault the service or the atmosphere, but for $40 inc. tip, I thought this was alot of money for it was. I'd go here again but only as a walk in option or if I couldn't get an appointment at my usual salon. I think there are better pedicures for less dollar,

This place has several advantages: (1) speed/efficiency; (2) cleanliness; (3) nice decor; and (4) sex and the city DVDs. I went this afternoon for a mani/pedi, and was very pleased with the service and setting. I like when a nail salon does your hands and feet at the same time, which is the service they offered me today at Pure. The setting was bright, and the white couches are chic and comfortable. I also love a shiny manicure, in that the topcoat gives a nice sheen, and my manicure and pedicure are both nice and glossy. The SATC dvd playing in the background is just a bonus. They also have all the latest nail polish colors, and weekly magazines. Well work the $52.50. I'll definitely be going back soon.

I've never had so much fun at a Pure Nail Bar as I did today! The place is spotless, the girls are efficient and HAPPY, and I came away feeling good about myself, my experience and my shiny pink toenails!

I think this place is over-rated.  They've definitely marketed it towards the 20-40 year old crowd with the clean modern atmosphere and the sex and the city videos rolling in the background but as far as the actual mani-pedi I've always found them to be pretty average.  The girls spend very little time with the massage part of the hands and feet and I find they cut your cuticles way too much to the point it's actually painful days later.  Fun place for girlfriends to hang out and get mani-pedis but if you're looking for quality, relaxing spa treatment, I'd go somewhere else.
