Love it! Best espresso I've had in Vancouver. 49th Parallel is a close second.
Seating isn't the best but they seem to cater to the 'to go' crowd.
I've tried the carrot cake as well and it is delicious. -

A very sleek and trendy looking place, decorated very nicely to match the newer building it is located in: simple yet modern, bright and welcoming. I ordered a cappuccino and a carrot cake that had walnuts and almonds in it. I was surprised by the taste. The cappuccino was foamy, and rich in taste, but the cake just made my day. It was fresh, and what looked like a regular icing on top was some kind of creamy topping, that had a perfect balance of sweetness and texture. The staff was polite and friendly. They have free Wi-Fi.
The tables can only accommodate up to 3 people which is makes it a place suitable only for very small group. They do have outdoor seating that can be arranged for a bigger group on a clear day. -

I was excited to try Pure Coffee House. It's close to home, looks very modern, clean and cool. They have a good selection of coffees and pastries for my morning commute, and is a good alternative to the coffee chains in this somewhat quiet area of downtown. I would love for my apartment kitchen to look like this.
I've tried the coffee several times. I've seen the lattes, and it's obvious that the staff is well versed with the skills of latte art. The espresso itself though is a bit weak. The crema on the americano is thin, and I haven't gotten used to the dryness. It is a bit nuttier than I'm used to, which is not a bad thing, so I'd like to find out which beans are being used. I'm not giving up yet. Pure Coffee House is still new and I'm sure that there is lots of room for improvement, so I'll keep checking in. -

Macchiato that made me smile past my ears. I'm feeling this place! Ty's mocha was beautiful design-wise, but tasted more like cinnamon than chocolate (not a bad thing though). The macchiato though was incredible: rich, decadent, foam-topped, slightly bitter, slightly sweet, full, wonderful. When can I have my next one?

Very clean, ultra-modern decor and excellent coffee. Those are the first two features you'll notice in this small but strategically-located shop. There is a counter along the window where you can sit and watch the pedestrians coming and going along Cambie, but the shop is quite tiny so it may be difficult to find somewhere to settle in if you want to read or get some work done. Nonetheless, a great hideaway and an alternative to the chain coffee shops if you want a change of scenery...
