I could probably live on a diet of just hedgehogs. I'd be huge in no time, which is why I don't live on that diet. But if I could, I certainly would. That said, there is more to Purdy's than just hedgehogs.
From Sweet Georgia Browns to English Toffee to Peanut Butter Daisies, chances are Purdy's has something that will satisfy your sweet tooth. And having been making chocolate in Canada since 1907, they have certainly mastered their craft.
By being one of Canada's top employers year after year (including 2009), it likely explains the excellent service. The staff here and in other locations have always been helpful and cheerful. Good people, good chocolate .. what more could a growing boy ask for? -

Purdy's is the second largest chocolate dealer in the country, with reasonable prices on a wide variety of chocolate items. I'm not the biggest chocolate fiend in the world, but I find Purdy's chocolates not too rich and a few won't leave you with a sick feeling in your gut. Good selection, too, with just about every popular kind like orange, white chocolate and caramel with a few wildcards like the "hedgehog" and the "snowball" which are worth a try....
Purdy's actually has decent ice cream as well, though they don't talk about it as much. -

You're going to laugh when I tell you this, but one of the things I missed MOST about Calgary was Purdy's Chocolates. I wish I was joking.
They don't have Purdy's in Toronto and they don't have Purdy's in the States.
WHY do I love Purdy's so much? One word: Hedgehogs. I mean, could Purdy's have made a more perfect creature?!?!? He's adorable, he's smooth, he's sweet and he manages to please me EVERY SINGLE TIME.
I would sometimes DREAM about hedgehogs... I just love them so much. The hazelnut chocolate inside and the perfectly designed milk chocolate outside is enough to send shivers through my body.
Although the hedgehogs are my first love, Purdy's ice cream bars come in a very close second. You know what's fun? If you get them to dip the ice cream bar in chocolate, then in the nuts, then in chocolate and then in the sprinkles!!! It's a party in your mouth!
All this talk about chocolate has created a full on craving. It's time for me to bid adieu...this girl's gotta take care of her needs ;) -

I'm going to completely agree with my girl Sapna G.! I love Purdy's hedgehogs sooo much it's not even funny. Honestly, it isn't. It's an addiction an I need some help!
They really are the perfection creation! A desirable blend of hazelnut and milk chocolate all in the shape of a cute little hedgehog. Don't worry... it still looks like chocolate!
Another thing I absolutely LOVE about Purdy's is their white chocolate! It's also to die for. They have bars of this for only $1.49... which is pretty good for specialty chocolate. They also have the same price for bars of dark, milk, mint and nut. It's awesome.
I love the holidays because someone always gets me something from Purdy's. It makes a great gift! They have these adorable little baskets with different chocolates and candies... each festive to the season!
Will you excuse you please? I need to get me some hedgehogs and white chocolate!
