Hands down, the best deal in town for South Asian cuisine. $7.99 for the all you can eat buffet. It doesn't get any cheaper than that. If you can look past the run-down look of the restaurant, and be patient while they cook more rice, then you are in for a treat. A completely vegetarian restaurant, but would satisfy anyone who is craving a South Asian meal. I can't wait until they open their new location (2790 Pembina - the old Palatal building), so I don't have to drive to the other side of town when I have a craving, albeit well worth the drive every time (twice this past week alone).

Made it here twice now and enjoyed the food both times. The taste, quality of the food is there. It's a bit out of the way but I would drop in for a meal when in the area.
The Samosas are some of the best I have had. -
Review from Mary C.
This place has the BEST SAMOSAS in the world (well at least this side of India). I know you're thinking...what the hell is a Cali girl writing a review for a restaurant all the way in Winnipeg (WHERE? I was born there) -- the heart of North America.
My cousins first introduced us to Punjab during our visit last summer. And since then - my sister and I have been craving for them. We have been fortunate to have the family visit us this week. They brought us a whole box full of Samosas.
The Samosas are like huge fried wontons with a mixture of potatoes, spices and CURRY. And the red sauce is a tamarind sauce with a perfect blend of sweet and spicy. HEAVENLY (and deadly fried) appetizers. -

gdsfdagfdjhfgzomg, so good I barely have words.
This place has no ambience at all but who cares, the food is amazing! And cheap! Amazing and cheap, that's pretty much my favourite combination when it comes to eating out.
Their buffet is on the small side - rice, salad, five savoury dishes and one dessert, plus chapati, which is included in the buffet price ($7.99), but they bring to the table for you.
Everything was delicious. Super flavourful, mildly spicy and full of ghee. When I was there they had saag (maybe palak paneer?), chana masala, a lentil dish, a potato dish and another dish that I think was paneer with vegetables in a sweet and sour sauce. Mmmm all so good.
They also have a really large selection of sweets, none of which I can identify, but all of which I've tried are delicious.
If this place wasn't half way across town I'd eat there every week. My mouth is watering just thinking about the food.
