Review from Sean D.
Very cool pub with history. Food is way better than most pubs! You should hit this spot in winter or summer. In the winter time it's great for a place to warm up, while shopping and wandering around Old Montreal, sipping a special coffee. Summer is great just because it's summer and we like to drink beer in Old Montreal...

Fun place. Good food, nice staff. Located in the heart of Old Montreal. Very affordable lunch with good beer specials. Would recommend it to anyone visiting the area who is looking for good affordable food and a fun atmosphere.

Best Pub in Montreal!
Walk through Old Montreal and stop in for a pint of Rickards White. Their Garlic bread with Bree is a must have. Good dinner specials as well.
This bar is a staple in my Montreal visits. (Which are many) -

This was the first real BAR I found in Montreal. After being there for 4 days, some in my group and I were starting to get the 4pm "itch." (Vacation sucks, right?) We decided to wander from the marina we were staying at, and luckily, Pub St. Paul was an easy 5 minute walk!
You go upstairs into this rock/sports themed bar, music playing at a comfortable level, and A/C rocking at an even more comfortable level, given the narsty 98 degree day we were contending with! It was uncrowded, and the bartender was this mousey little French Canadian girl who had some funny stories about hitch-hiking around Canada. One in particular about walking into a bathroom door in Vancouver, and discovering a top-secret Japanese fish market. Um... what? Aaaanyway.. ??
The beer is cold (Molson Ex, in particular), served in HUGE pint glasses, and there's even a rock and roll version of Michelangelo's "The Last Supper" where John Lennon plays JC and Mick Jagger plays Judas! Weird, right? Others in the picture included Jimi, Jim Morrison, Keith Richards, Robert Plant, Jimmy Page, Elvis, Alice Cooper (not exactly belonging to that elite group, IMHO), and others. Also, a huge Fender Strat adorned the ceiling. I could've jumped up and twisted a tone knob and hit that whammy bar!
Fun place if you're in Montreal's Old Town, and looking for an afternoon brew. Also, open till 3am for when you're in Montreal's Old Town and looking for an early morning brew! (Not that I tried out those wares.) Good stuff. Friendly people. Slightly crowded at peak hours, I'd imagine.Comment from ISABELLE G. of Pub St-Paul 3/16/2010

Review from Proteus D.
Standard fried, bar food. Needed to find somewhere kid friendly, in a hurry when visiting Old Montreal. The pub is very spacious with good views of the river and Rue St.Paul. It's a nice renovation of an old warehouse type building and has kept some of its old world charm. The place was lively and busy but not raucous. We didn't have high expectations of the food and as expected it was pretty average. The Nachos were good, as were the very small chicken wings. The Burger was OK, nothing special, but my wife hardly touched her pasta duo - a combo of their tomato and alfredo pastas. The tomato one tasted like it was straight out of a jar and the alfredo just lacked flavor. I wouldn't come back here, but for what we needed it suited just fine (don't get the pasta).
