    Pros:

the food is decent, portions aren't too crazy big or small, and it has pretty good service.  The drinks are also made pretty well.  I ordered a salad and shared some fries and I was pretty full!

    Cons:

it's SO DARK in there! I couldn't see if my friends were inside so I had to wait outside just to be seen....
Another con is the wait time.  I came on a Thursday, around 7pm and  I waited over 1 hour.  We had almost everyone there except for 1 person who was stuck in traffic, so we had to stand around outside since it was too loud inside to carry a conversation...

It came recommended on the strength of one dish a friend had and loved here, but I'm sorry to say this place didn't live up to its hype. It's a typically precious local organic artisanal blah blah blah, and doesn't have a sign outside the building. The portions were noticeably smaller Thani was expecting, given their noticeably large price tags. And aside from a tasty cheese plate, the food seemed both bland and incongruous with the other things on the plate.

Maybe if I went again and tried some other dishes I might have a better experience, but for these prices I'm not about to give it a second chance anytime soon when there are so many other better meals and better values out there.

I've been here so many times in the past year, I definitely thought I had already written a review! This is one of my favorite places not just within the Graduate Hospital neighborhood, but in the whole city.

I've had dinner here with friends, with family, for business, for just a quick bite, for more formal occasions and I've popped in for just a couple cocktails a number of times...  I've never had a bad experience -- with drinks, with food or with service.

I actually like that they don't take reservations because then I have just as much a chance of getting dinner here last minute on a Friday or Saturday night as anyone else would. The servers & bartenders are well versed on the menu; they're usually able to answer any questions on the spot without having to step away and "find out."

It gets noisy - upstairs is much quieter, although still not totally peaceful.

This place has a very unique feel. We nearly missed it on our walk to dinner; there's no real label on the corner restaurant.

They have an eccentric mix of IPA's and Pale Ales. The menu is very interesting as well; their buffalo wings and the cavetelli appetizer were both amazing..the cavetelli was served al dente with amazing flavor. I had the skate for my dinner, which was probably the most delicious fish I've had in as long as I can remember.

They are known for their burgers, which were very good as well. They are often compared to Village Whiskey's burger, and sadly I don't think they are quite on par, but still very good.

This place is on the pricier side, but the ambiance on a Saturday night is a mixed crowd; noisy and full of energy. Nicely done!

Sigh, what happened tonight? "did you get a new chef?" all of the p&k classics came out weird tonight. Server: "we change our menu frequently." Their emberly wings are shrinking. Dwindling Buffalo: okay, honey whiskey: pinkish and not crispy as usual. "are these okay to eat" server: "yeah"

The pulled pork sammy was also not pulled, just a  big chunk of fatty pork slab and the accompanying coleslaw was basically cabbage and mayo. Nice gravy bowl presentations.

Onto of all this with these few orders, along with a very rare parliament burger, supposed to be medium (burgers keep getting dubbed, i do miss the Windsor)! The separation between apps and entrees was about half an hour. No check in. Boo.

Straighten up your line P&K and turn down the metro trancey dance music.
What a bummer. I use to really really adore this place.

I love this place. It's right around the corner, has a great beer selection, and their food is great. The atmosphere has always felt very young. The inside is dimly lit,  and has a long bar and adjoining dining areas.

I love the pulled pork sandwich with chipotle mayo, and the Chamberlain burger is worth trying. Even the bone marrow was appetizing.

Also, I've always enjoyed the music playing here.

Pub and Kitchen is tucked away in Rittenhouse Square, you might miss it if you're not looking. The food is phenomenal, my boyfriend and I visited after a Flyers game. The weather was gorgeous and outside seating was available.

We were craving burgers and despite only offering two types, the bacon cheeseburger was amazing. The burgers were cooked exactly as we asked and the handcut fries were the perfect accompaniment.

We had two appetizers, wings and this bruchetta-type app with a smoked onion gele (jelly said fancy) with cured bacon. The bread was crunchy and the the olive oil was the perfect finishing flavor as you finished your bite. So interesting and completely addicting. The wings we're also great--no breading and hit the spot.

They have beers on tap as well, and we went all-local. The only type of beer to go especially in Philadelphia, which offers so many.

I would return in a heartbeat, especially for a night of drinking. It's in a beautiful neighborhood and it's atmosphere is great. Check it out if you can.

Pub and Kitchen is one of my fave spots in the Rittenhouse area.  It reminds me of my home in N Libs.. EL Standard Tap.. minus the hipsters. What they do have is fairly solid rotation of local beers and a solid gastro-pub menu as well as a non existent lighting system.... all characteristics of Standard Tap. Why do I only give 4 stars? Cause S Tap is my one and only gastropub that gets 5 stars ( w/ S philly Tap room nipping at it's heals), and PK does not have as extensive of a beer list and I prefer the food at ST. But, Pub and Kitchen you do have Espolon tequila blanco and have some tasty dranks and if it makes you feel better, your bartenders are much cuter than STap's....because you actually have female bartenders...plus bartender Ryan B at STap is a hideous man. It's ok I can say that we are good friends..cheers.

Used to be my go-to bar/eatery when I lived in the neighborhood.  Pub & Kitchen and I have had a long and cherishing relationship together (almost three years).  If there are two words that I had to use to describe P&K they'd be "versatility" and "class".

A nice sized list of great draught beers, a full wine menu, and superb food... from pub grub to fine dining.  A beautiful decor of dark wood finishes that somehow fits all seasons.  Massive windows that open wide in spring and summer for great amounts of natural ventilation.  An attractive and more mature crowd free of college bros.  Outdoor dining in nice weather.  The list goes on and on.  You can take a date here for dinner, you can take your best friend here for beers, or you can take your parents here to prove to them you don't live in da hood.

I don't live in philly anymore, but I keep finding my way back here whenever I'm in town, which is no easy feat.  Much praise P&K.

I have only had the burgers (they have 2 different kinds) and thats all I need. Some of my favorite burgers in the city. The bar is nice and spacious and the service has ranged from bland to friendly, but never bad.

my advice: go during the day, grab a fresh brew and get a burger. you wont regret it.

The outdoor seating is a plus also, and great for people watching

INSANE. If you do not eat here, you are a fool. I've been here twice while I was doing business in Philly and the food both times was phenomenal.  The fish and chips (which is served on sundays) is crazy/good.  But that churchill burger? I could not stopping "mmmmmm-ing" when I was mackin' that. Like nothing you have ever had.  Oh and PS? trust me on this review. I cook and I know good food. This place is beyond delicious. also, just to mention. the servers are really friendly, the have great draft beers (Many of which a local), and they play cool music. Go. Run. Stop reading this review and get there. Now.

Unlike most city-dwellers, I don't really have a regular neighborhood spot I frequent. But if any place came close to that for me, it'd be P&K. Not only is P&K just a few blocks from my door, but I find myself craving their burgers on a regular basis.

The atmosphere of P&K is laid back. So laid back, in fact, that they don't take reservations. That's really my only gripe with the place. It's a great spot for any meal, brunch included. And in the summer, it's perfect for al fresco dining.

You really can't go wrong with anything on the menu here. But you might have a hard time finding something to eat if you're a vegetarian. P&K is all about burgers, seafood, and red meat. The current signature burger, the Churchill, is one of my favorites in Philadelphia. Melt in your mouth meaty goodness.

The beer menu isn't pages long, but has some unique choices that compliment the food. But don't overlook the specialty drinks! They can make a cocktail to rival any on the menu at Franklin Mortgage.

It can tend to be pretty loud on a friday or saturday night, so if you're planning on talking to your date, try and go a little earlier.

the food is pretty good but the service is horrible. I don't know why the Diving Horse in Avalon is by far so much better in food & service. What I especially like about the Avalon restaurant is that the owner came over to each table and introduced himself. That hits a home run with the local crowd to recommend it to family, friends, and tourists. I don't know what happens at P&K a hundred miles away! he is such a nice guy that the drastic quality of service btwn the 2 doesn't make sense.

i'm pretty sure they only hire miserable staff. skip it & while people do come back for the burger, you'll get a better one at grace tavern.

P&K only gets an extra star because I love that they had Breckenridge & Cisco breweries on tap.. 2 of my favorite places & I don't even like beer.

Our party of 2 (is that a party?) got there at about 7pm, and there was no wait, so it was a good way to start out the evening.

I've heard a decent amount about the Churchill burger, so the anticipation was building...aaaaaaand I was let down haha.  Folks, it's not worth $18.  After a few trips to Sketch on Girard Avenue, I'm convinced I could something similar for about half the price.

The bun was nice - not greasy at all.  And the flavor of the beef was good, I just didn't think the offering was worthy of the price tag.  The fries that come with the burger are also belgian-style, so if you're into those type of fries, they're on par with other places such as Monks, etc.

I was actually a little disappointed with what they had on tap as well.

Anyway, the atmosphere is very nice.  Everyone is getting on the rustic bandwagon, but personally, I love it haha.  Choice of music for the bar was also a plus.  So I think I'll be back again, but will avoid the burger and try some of their other options.

I agree with Holly T....I wish I could love it, but I left feeling a little...well, meh.

After a steamy Hot Yoga class, a small group (6) of us ventured here on a Sunday evening...we sat immediately, which immediately made me happy!

I've graced the bar for cocktails previously, but have never eaten, so was excited to see the restaurant portion was a cozy nook.

The seating, comfortable and spacious, perfect...the lighting dim and homey. And we had just come from Yoga, so we weren't dressed in our best...no pretentiousness to speak!

A variety of food was ordered...some had the burger (Churchill was juicy, succulent, amazing...the Parliament looked awesome as well!), some had the fish special and I ordered the fish and chips special.

Light, airy batter, fresh fish, 4 potato wedges (they were HUGE) and pea mash. The meal, served with malt vinegar & ketchup in ramekins, left a satisfied smile on all our faces.

Glad to see they have specials...lots of things on the menu that would bring me back...possibly in a better outfit :)

Fine as a pub, bad as a kitchen. Simply put, the food was not good. My fish was overcooked, bland, and soggy. The green sauce was excessively oily. The dessert pudding tasted fine, but could easily have come from the frozen aisle at Trader Joe's. The green beans looked like green beans, but tasted like nothing.

On the plus side, the wine was very good.

    Why P&K WHY!

This used to be a neighborhood favorite of mine. After a move, I rarely went which I was mildly alright with (mainly because they took the fish and chips off the menu). I happened to make my way back the other week and to my surprise, the fish and chips were a special so I obviously ordered them. They were just OK. It broke my heart.

That aside, they took what I once declared one of my favorite condiments off the menu...the truffle dijionaise. Devastating. Our waiter even mentioned how people ask for it to come back all the time.

I do still love the service, ambiance and ever changing yummy menu but please please please don't change the menu too much!

Pub and Kitchen, you've made me sad.  I loved you so much.  I used to live closeby and we'd come for fish and chips constantly.  But you took them away.  No more fish and chips.  We happened to come in when they were a special a little while back, but they weren't prepared the same way.  You even took away the truffled dijonnaise.  I can't understand why.  It's a condiment, and it's amazing.  Our waiter even mentioned that people have been asking for it... not sure why you want to make that kind of statement, that you're willing to take off the menu your popular, signature items.  Is the Churchill the next popular item to be removed?

Not that my meal was awful or anything, it was good.  The fish and chips special wasn't bad, it just didn't have the magic it used to, and it was a significantly smaller portion (one piece of fish instead of two).  The bone marrow appetizer was good, but not nearly as good as others in the city have been (Meme), and its presentation was lifeless (as was the fish and chips special).  Our other dishes were good but just not memorable.

The place is perfect inside, so warm and cozy.  The staff is always friendly, and I've always enjoyed being inside.  But I feel like the menu is going in an odd direction (except for the Churchill burger, of course, which is excellent, one of the best in the city).

I seem to always forget that Pub & Kitchen is right down the street. This is probably because it's nestled in a fairly residential, quiet corner of town. It's a great atmosphere, with kind of a rustic barn/farmhouse feel. It's the perfect neighborhood spot, so I will be coming here more often.

On my first visit, I came for the burger, which was named one of the top 10 in Philly. What I didn't know was that they have two burgers, and the top 10 one (the Churchill Burger) was $18. We opted for the more basic, and I was not that impressed. The burger itself was really light, almost airy, and they charged an extra $2 for cheese that was barely there.

Second visit was winding down the night at the bar with beers and apps. The truffle fries were awesome and the dipping sauce made me want to take a spoon to it. The fried calamari was flavorful and tender, and the mac and cheese (made with orzo) was creamy and rich. The beer selection was pretty good, although a little pricey.

On my third and most recent visit I came for brunch with a few friends. They have a good amount of options on the menu for such a small spot. I went with the banger sandwich (sausage, fried egg, swiss, and carmelized onions), and my friends got the french toast with toffee bacon sauce and a brisket hash special. My sandwich was really tasty, and strangely not as greasy as I expected. The homefries were the same way, but were crispy and had a sprinkling of herbs/seasonings on them to give them flavor. I tried my friend's french toast, and it was AMAZING. I have to admit that I wasn't sure about something called 'toffee bacon sauce' but let me tell you, it works. The coffee was flavorful and strong too, another plus.

The only thing holding me back from giving five stars are the prices. I get that the food and beverage selections are a few notches above what you'd usually find at a "neighborhood spot," but I felt like sometimes they didn't really match the portion/quality.

What's interesting about Yelp is what is great for some folks is a total turn off for another.

Pub N'Kitchen (y'all can use that) is a study in this phenomenon.

Walking in, some folks get excited by the darkness, the crowd, the energy that having a bunch of people in their early twenties can bring.

All of that just brings out the fuddy duddy in me.

Pub N'Kitchen is very dark, very loud, and very hip.  We we're told that there was a forty minute wait.  Since we broke out of South Philly, we decided to stick out out for a table.  After a bit, we were seated upstairs which is much quieter.  More kitchen, less pub, I guess. But, we were seated across from a huge group of Penn kids, so you can imagine how that was.  They were doing shots along with their dinner.  At one point, the waitress accidently hip checked one of our future leaders out of her chair, drunkenly sprawling to the ground.

The food is good.  One downside is there was no vegetarian option, which is an issue, as my wife is one.  I had the wings and the Parliment Burger.  Tasty, and at the right price for my wallet.

I guess for me, the main point is this.  At no point did I ever feel relaxed.  The noise and the crowd spooked me, like a frightened bunny.  And the dark lighting didn't help.  It made me feel like I was in a house haunted by drunk college kids.

So the takeaways:  The food is great, the prices are ok, but the atmosphere isn't really my idea of ideal.

Been twice.  Once by myself on a sunny Satruday late morning -- sat outside with no wait and had a great salad.

Went with a party of four on a Saturday night in February.  Were told there would be a 30 minue wait - sure, no problem.  Found seats at the bar, got a drink, and ... waited for an hour and a half!  But it was too cold venture outside needlessly, so we waited and were finally seated in the upstairs dining area, which we were initially happy about because it seemed quieter than downstairs and there were only 3 other parties up there.  Until they TURNED UP THE MUSIC so loud we l.i.t.e.r.a.l.l.y. could not hear each other.  Or the waiter.  We politely asked him to turn the music down and after giving us a sourpuss look he turned down the music just a smidge, like a surly teen who can't believe his parents are asking him to turn down his oh-so-rockin' tunes.

Other than that, the food was great (though no fish & chips on the menu -- wah!) and the service was also very good (I think the waiter realized he had been a bit of a jerk and tried to make it up to us).

In general, this seems more like a local, young, slightly hipster hang out bar than somewhere you would make a special trip to visit, so if you're local and in your twenties, I say go for it.

Prototypical gastropub...awesome decor, warm and cozy environment, chill background music, unique beer selection, jeans and sneakers crowd with no pretentious hoodrats in the vicinity. Had the allagash white and allagash cerieux. Both were great. Our waiter brought us a sample of both to try before ordering. The tile fish was so-so, a bit too fishy for my liking. The Jewish apple cake with rum raisin ice cream was delicious. Great environment to hang out and grab a few beers.

Someone please explain to me what the all the hype is about this place? My husband and I went to dinner here and I was not impressed. Not impressed with the menu, the food, or the restaurant/bar itself.

It was so poorly lit inside I was struggling to read the menu, so much so that I got a headache, and when I leaned towards the mini candle on our table to see better, I almost set the menu on fire! This is not how anyone pictures their first few minutes of a dining experience.

For me it was overpriced for what they were providing. I doubt I'll be back.

My usual spot for a low key night - they have just enough beers on draft/in the bottle to keep me happy (nothing fancy, but passable).  The Churchill burger IS as good as advertised and although my belt may not agree, I love the huge helping of fries.

Its a pretty good 'young professional' crowd - but its so damn dark in here sometimes that its not the greatest for meeting new people.

So many fond memories of Pub & Kitchen -

Right around the corner from our apartment, many fuzzy, full stomach, 2 block walks home...

Upon our first visit we remarked to the waitress how much we enjoyed the BBQ sauce on the pulled pork - she gave us two jars of it to take with...

    The Churchill burger...

Being told a 45 minute wait, actually ready and willing to wait, and then after 10 minutes being seated...

After taking my retiree age parents once, every time they visit now they want to go even though we've moved 12 blocks away...so we go.

    Cask selection...

    Fish and Chips...

    Deviled eggs...

We need to catch up P&K.

I enjoyed this spot for a late-night quick adventure with some friends recently.

The beer selection was quite varied and I speedily found a scrumptious brew to sip. The food menu wasn't so appealing for a late-night snacker, but I did end up with a bready British appetizer (whose name I'm forgetting), that I'd never tried before. I'm always up for testing the waters with a new dish whenever I can!

The ambiance is rather dark, but very warm and comfortable at the same time. I'd like to actually dine on a full meal here sometime in the near future, and then I'll have a better base from which to judge.

Pub and Kitchen is the first place we went to after we moved to the area and we've been back a few times since. Great beer selection. Great cocktails. Upscale pub fare. The Parliament burger is heavenly. It's hard to resist it when I go in, but I've managed at dinner to try their specials on a couple of occasions. Had an excellent short rib special one night, and, most recently, a mahi mahi special served with choizo kale and mashed pumpkin.

The atmosphere is great on nice days when they have the windows wide open. It can get dark inside at night and rather noisy when it's crowded. But overall, a comfortable neighborhood pub.

I was visiting a mourning friend in Philly & this is where we ended up for dinner. I loved the dining room! It was warm, cozy & classy with a rustic charm & nice big windows. The waitstaff was attentive & friendly and the food was quite good.

    BUT

Go for the cheese plate! The cheeses were lovely but the reason to travel to this restaurant is the truffle honey. This stuff is like crack! It's wonderful mild honey speckled with tons of REAL truffle shavings. It was so decadent , so rich, so wonderful...words cannot describe the awesomeness of this sensual delight. Just go get that damn cheese plate!

Elevated Pub Food with great beers and cocktails is what you will find here at the Pub & Kitchen.  This place has been added to my regular rotation of great bars in the city that also serve great food.  The Churchill Burger is a must order, as it is one of the best in the city.  Is it my favorite burger of all time?  Maybe not, but it is damn tasty.  So simple, the special blend of LaFrieda meat really is the star with this burger.  Topped simply with caramelized onions and Bone Marrow butter, it is super tasty.  The fries were awesome as well, extra crispy and plentiful. Some of the best fries in the city.

The menu is rather small with daily specials, but I appreciate that, as every item is done really well.  The bar definitely has that New York atmosphere as I am sure that is what they are going for. Especially with serving NY's LaFrieda beef along with a variety of offerings from NY's SixPoint Brewery.  Mmmmmh Bengali Tiger - one of my favorite beers.  It is rather dark inside as others have complained about, but I don't really mind it.  Expect to see patrons using their cell phone's LED to read the menu.  The female bartenders are great.  Attractive and knowledgeable. What more can you ask for?  Yes, another beer.

    Loved the atmosphere.

    Loved the service.

My husband and our friends loved their food.

As for me, I wasn't a big fan of the fact that there was nothing vegetarian on the menu, except for one or two of the salads and some veggie sides. I'd heard great things about the gnocchi and was disappointed that they're not longer offering it! I asked the waitress if they could make me something, and I had a pasta with vegetables that was nothing to write home about.

Had a great meal here. Saturday night. Monk's was packed and we wanted some mussels. Sat outside, which seems like the way to go. Service was ON POINT. Our server was amazing. It's like she was reading our minds, and she had the perfect balance of attentive but not intrusive.

We had a cheese plate to start. Then I had the mussels, which were great.

I remember drinking tasty red wine (of course) so I can't remember what it was (also of course!).

    Will definitely be back.

I like Pub & Kitchen a lot, but I really wish I could LOVE it. It is, after all, my corner bar. As far as bars go, it's actually a great all-around choice, since it's got really good cocktails, a nice beer selection, and decent wine, there's something for everyone. The food is also pretty much excellent all around. I've tried both their burgers, and they're both wonderful, for different reasons. I actually prefer the Parliament burger overall, and not because it's cheaper, but just because it's more manageable (and, who can resist the call of cheese & bacon). I really do like the Churchill burger, and appreciate why it is served plain, because the grass fed local beef is incredibly rich and intense. I admit that it's simply too much burger for me personally, but it's definitely worth a try. I love it here on a warm day when the windows are wide open and you can sit outside or at the bar in front of the windows, facing the street. I love it when natural light is flooding in, it's not too crowded, and it just feels peaceful. Unfortunately, I just don't like the atmosphere much at night, especially with the door & windows closed, and it's full of people. The music can get really loud (kind of clubby, even, which is a total turnoff), the people can get really loud, it's so dark you can't see anything, and it kind of feels douchey, when I'd rather it feel cozy & neighborhood-y. Anyway, that aside, my only minor complaint is that I wish the beer selection would rotate a little more. It actually feels silly to nitpick what is otherwise an awesome place, but like I said, I would really like to love it.

Now, I was just about to post this before NYE, then we ended up there NYE evening and had a blast. It wasn't too crowded, it wasn't too dark, the music was still loud but since it was 80s music it was awesome, everyone was friendly and in a good mood, the bartenders were accommodating when we looked up a cocktail recipe on the internet and asked if they could make it, etc. Super awesome experience. It sort of made me feel guilty about not posting a more glowing review. But then, we had some lovely experiences at some of our other local places recently, and this confirmed for me that Pub & Kitchen still lacks that that feeling of "ahhh, welcome home" that I wish it would have. So, I'll keep this at 4 stars for now and hope that repeated experiences will eventually bring it up to the 5 I have a feeling it deserves.

Really 3.5 stars. Pub and Kitchen is tasty, and has a great beer selection but the food menu is limited. There are about 5-6 items of very pricey entrees, and 5-6 more reasonably priced sandwiches. They used to have fish and chips on the menu, but unfortunately this item has been removed. The burger was awesome, and cooked perfectly, although it seemed there was about 1/4 piece of bacon on it. The pulled pork was also really delish and unique, and the coleslaw accompanying it was great, but I wish this came with fries, too. The service was good, but our server checked on us frequently, bordering on uncomfortably too much. I would definitely go back for a beer and a burger, and the company, the best parts of the night!

Pub & Kitchen is a pretty average neighborhood casual eatery.  The foie gras was nicely presented and the best tasting dish of the evening.  Duck terrine had a nice meaty texture.  The octopus starter only hit one muddled note of flavor.  The burger was good but not great. My main was a special of Maryland line caught stripped bass over farro cooked in a risotto style, but, it just seemed normally cooked in a pot over low heat.  Artichokes in the dish added a nice kick of acid.  Pub & Kitchen is probably closer to 3.5 stars but I did not find anything to push it into 4 star territory.  Service was very friendly and helpful.

Dark and mysterious vibe once the sun is down, salty/angry but marvelous bartenders, and A+ A-OKAY burgers.  ME LIKE.

After several failed attempts to dine at Pub & Kitchen, I finally decided on a slow Saturday afternoon that me and a buddy would get downtown to try the famed Churchill burger.

A burger without cheese? That's not for me... or so I thought. The Churchill burger really focuses on the much praised Pat LaFrieda ground beef that is specially blended for Pub & Kitchen. Topped with only caramelized onions, this burger is a punch in the mouth of beefy goodness. I got mine cooked to perfection at medium rare and washed it all down with one of their cask conditions whiskey cocktails.... what an afternoon... I couldn't do anything to keep myself from taking a very satisfied whiskey and beef fueled nap.

    No reservations
About the food, or for seats
    Feels like a friends house

It's taken me a while to get around to a proper review of Pub & Kitchen, an unfortunate circumstance of it being in my neighborhood which, for better or for worse, means it is a frequent nightspot.

Fortunately almost every experience here has been toward the better. I'll get the single annoying aspect of P&K out of the way from the outset: they don't take reservations. Annoying if you want to eat immediately, or are coming with a large group, but otherwise it's just a good excuse to down a few beers while you wait.

I used to head over here pretty regularly back in 2006-07 when it was Chaucer's. It was a nice spot then, and it's an even better spot now. The interior is beautiful, lots of wood and candles downstairs, pretty open upstairs. While there is great outdoor seating in the summer, I love it here in the cold when it feels like walking into a friends richly appointed den and sharing a few beers over a game.

The bar gets pretty full most nights, but there's some standing room along the rail. They do a decent draft list, as well as a few cocktails and glasses of wine from the menu. The tap list won't blow you away, but everyone in any size group will find something suitable.

The menu changes pretty regularly, but the burgers and pub fare are stalwarts. And delicious. Actually everything is delicious. When your waitress rattles off the specials, listen closely, because they're similarly priced to the regular menu items and are often inspired by seasonal offerings.

Simply put, P&K is a perfect place to get good food (specifically a burger) and good beer at a fair price in a great atmosphere.

I live right around the corner and never thought that much of the food.
UNTIL i went for brunch today and got the smoked salmon with the pretzel roll.  it came on a platter with cream cheese, capers, onion, tomato and cucumbers.  it was SO good i can't stop thinking about it!!  I'm not even a fan of salmon!
my friends got.. the churchill burger, which was good.  the bangers sandwich, which was greaaat (but very filling).  and the french toast, which was very (maybe too) sweet.
I loved that it wasn't crowded, nothing worse than being hungover and waiting forever in a packed restaurant.
    cannot wait to brunch again
