We have not yet gone to Paris or stayed in our apartment (which looks fantastic in the photos), however I will not do business with Private Homes on my next trip to Europe. I have rented apartments in several other cities and have never had to pay such exhorbitant fees just to be put in touch with the owner of the residence. As it turns out the fee we are being charged is equivalent to the deposit on the apartment (or $210 for a 5 day stay). Friends who are traveling with us are paying a $30 for their apartment. It's ridiculous. I spoke to representatives at Visa and they felt the company is in violation of Visa's rules about full disclosure. If you read the fine print on their site they say it's non-refundable. BEWARE.
