This place is what vintage dreams are made of!

I had scouted out this place online before I headed over, and still almost missed it.  Make sure you write down the address because it is TINY.  The whole store is about six feet by twenty, and in that minimal amount of space packs better finds than a whole warehouse.  That's the ratio I'm after.  No filler, all gems.  I got the two dresses I tried on (though there were many many more I coveted), and while I didn't indulge, the selection of shoes, handbags and jewelry are also drool worthy.

A MUST for serious vintage collectors.

I am embarrassed to say that I didn't even realize what the name of this store was until last week (when I searched for it). The window says "MOD MINI METALLIC"- right above where it says the actual name...but these words are just so damn...evocative, that they were all I wanted and needed to know.

This store is all of these things, but I think their specialty is more of the pretty, old-fashioned side of vintage clothing. And this *is* "vintage", not "thrift", you see. The kind of store where pieces are lovingly and discerningly chosen, displayed and sold at a price that reflects the effort and class behind it all. Items have names and eras attached to them like "cocktail sweater" and "goddess dress" and "1950's" and I want to melt into a black and white Hollywood moment where men were men and women were ladies. But I digress.

There is usually something designer and/or simply fetching luring me in the display window, and the racks in the tiny, narrow (but very inviting) space are full of chiffon and cashmere. More my speed is the sale rack which is always on the sidewalk, always 5 or 10 dollars for each item on it, and usually heavy on the polyester. Cool store, cool people, cool clothes.
