I've been here a number of times but just recently they have been renovating thus decided to see how things were after such an undertaking.  Many times restaurants take the opportunity to revamp their menus and of course prices to "pay" for the renovations etc.

I was surprised how well the renovations came through...the restaurant now seemed much brighter and allowed more ambient sunshine to come in.  Even though the restaurant itself was roomier...for some reason though the pass-through between tables remained small...(has me questioning if they were to aggressive in laying down more tables...).  The place is still packed during the weekend dim sum times but at least now has a better waiting space than before.

Looking over the menu I didn't really notice any notable price adjustments but instead saw a few new items on their dim sum menu.  Food quality remained the same and so did the proportions.  Granted this place isn't as cheap as some other dim sum places..but the atmosphere, cleanliness and quality of the food is well worth the value.  Probably one of the reasons why this is one of my go-to places for dim sum.

Not too bad for a suburban Chinese Restaurant. Prices are right. I had shark fin soup for $16.80, add a bowl of fried rice for $2. The smoked chicken was tender and delicious. We also had the eggplant and tofu dish which was a huge plate and well worth the price.
The restaurant is a comfortable setting, not too noisy.
Only complaint is service is not attentive, borderline rude if you ask me. I guess I'm not a regular.

I'm an woman who doesn't appreciate Chinese food as her roots show.  Its either greasy food or poor service, seems to be the same toss up each time.
What sucks is their prices/portions& quality, really aren't matching up well either.

So here is another place that I can skip going to.

    Won`t go back.

I went there with my parents to try a dinner. The staff was rude, we felt like they were trying to rush us and they were very inattentive.

The dishes weren`t very good either and came out sporadically and we even had to ask them to remember to bring out a dish we have.

But the worse was when I paid the bill. I used cash and put a hundred dollar bill down. The bill just something like $78. The older senior waitress took the billfold and never returned.

We`d sit there and wait and look over at her and she`d see us and then try not to make eye contact with us. About TWENTY MINUTES later of waiting ( I wanted to go ask for the change and receipt, my parents just told me to wait, 'she was coming' they thought), I told my parents to leave and I went and asked her for the change.

She was like 'oh' and embarrassingly gave me the change. I still tipped her, but I shouldn't have.

All I can say in this case is WTF?

I like this place, and i'm sure the huge crowd that comes here during the weekends for dim sum does too! You need to make a reservation otherwise you will suffer a long wait. But yeah, even if you make the reservation it takes a while to get seated, they are just so busy!

Prince "wang zhi" is starting to become my family's favorite dim sum place. We are driving from west side of vancouver. The service is not that great because it's just too busy and not enough workers but they are trying their best. Food can take a while 10-15 min but I think the quality is pretty good. And you get to dine in a nice environment with Plasma TVs to watch your American Sunday Football.

    Favorite items

    1. Beef ball
    2. Rice noodle dish(like simple chow fun but nothing else in it)
    3. Steamed Spareribs
    4. Chicken Feet(scares the western folks lol!)
    5.  Beef short-ribs
    6. Tripe

Can't comment on seafood cause I'm allergic to them!

    Delicious Dim Sum!

Being Chinese, I hate paying more for something that I can get for cheap, but I like the food here.  Especially the congee!  I hate eating congee with chunks of fatty pieces of meat.  A good ratio of lean to fatty meats would be 80/20.  Some less lean for flavor, but I like the chewyness of lean meats.  Their congee is never too runny or thick either.

The dim sum is the typical dim sum dishes (har gow, sui mui, buns, intestines and etc...) but I am rarely disappointed here.  Just keep in mind that the prices are slightly higher than other restaurants.  Enjoy the food, be prepared to wait for at least 15 minutes and you'll be fine.

Reasonable prices, generous portions, accurate taste -- Prince Seafood dishes up all your Chinese favorites in the grand fashion. They're set up for dim sum, banquets, large dinners, small tables -- you name it. Not what you'd expect from a strip mall joint at a busy intersection with inadequate parking. Service is zippy, but don't expect anything elaborate or particularly coordinated on that front. As the hostess quietly told us, if you want top service (at top prices), go eat on the westside. But if you want good food and good value, that's where Prince's stars shine.

The first time I came was on a busy night. But then, any night I've come has been busy. There was no host or hostess, so we didn't quite know what to do. Nor did other customers, and soon there was a backlog of people at the door. It seemed like there was a large banquet taking place on one side of the room. Finally, even though we had a reservation for five, we were crammed in awkwardly next do the fish tanks, right where all the waiters bring the food out from the kitchen.

But the food is legit. Everything just looks large and succulent. TOFU AND EGGPLANT was fantastic. PANFRIED OYSTERS were pretty good. SEA CUCUMBER was okay. The SOUP OF THE DAY was an arrowroot and black chicken broth. Other items, like noodles, fried rice, sweet and sour pork chops, etc. are all quite good.

(Almost forgot the bathroom report: it is clean enough. There's a canister of Febreeze on the counter.)

Will have to return to try the dim sum. This is a place to bring the whole family. You just might not want to walk into Tom's Video next door with grandma.

Wow talk about a disappointing dinner. My G-ma had her 80 something birthday dinner here on the weekend and it was sub par. The first complaint that my uncle had was that the food came way too fast for a formal dinner. As awkward as the situation turned out to be, he was right. We felt rushed as dishes upon dishes of food was brought out to the table.

The appetizer consisted of chicken nuggets (chinese style), fatty beef, pork slices, and fishpaste wraps. Where's the BBQ pork???

Second appetizer consisted of a mixed melon with deep fried shrimp glazed in a sweet salad dressing.. I personally enjoyed the warm fruit salad but it's not everyone's cup of tea.

Tragically, shark fin soup was ordered and I partaked in consuming the soup as the shark would have wanted me to (at least i hope). I have to add that it wasn't delicious....

Then came the abalone... wow i really disliked it. It was bland and a bit fishy for me. Plus i don't like it as it's more of a luxury thing. I rather have a squab. Someone throw me one please... preferably bbqed.

The rest of the meal included fried rice (which sucked), vegetarian dish, bland red bean soup.

I don't get the hype around this place, maybe people assume that because dim sum is good, the dinner will be good. Unfortunately, they're 2 different chefs.

We should have hit up Deer Garden ;)

RECENT DISCOVERY: Aside from my bulging belly which I may have to remind myself is not so recent anymore... DEEP FRIED MILK! (nodding head beaming with pride)

SCENE: Crazy ridiculous line up! This despite a reservation! Jeez, does dimsum bring out the worst in people? Seniors who were elbow kicking their way in when there's clearly a line, parents nudging their little kids to squeeze upfront to secure a spot, more elderlies acting so territorial of their space in line, umm.. this is just dimsum people! Well well, we scored a table and went pass through some upset and surprised faces clearly wondering, I had to stop myself from blurting out one word 'reservations!'. Whew. That alone was a gong show. How many times I told the Mrs. (who manages always to get me into these tight crowded situations!, e.g. Canada Line Opening) that it better be good, as hungry tummy is already not so happy.

HIGHLIGHT: So deep fried milk it came, and yes my friends, I was back in action. Sweet milky soft pudding centre enveloped in uber crunchy fried thin webby batter, this rocked me all the way to foodie heaven. Fried you might say? Forget the grease, milk is always good the doctors say. More? Dip this in soy sauce and foodie heaven infinity and beyond I was. I know, I know, milk and soy sauce? This pair works as Penn and Teller, Ernie and Bert. Other dimsum offerings are nothing to go nuts about, but comes fresh as you order. Fried items I recommend, crispy and never on the greasy side.

SERVICE: Typical Cantonese style - fast, efficient, a few times forgetful, gruffish 'is-she-angry-at-me-or-just-in-a-hurry' kind of deal.

INFER: Reasonable prices and hearty offerings to fully satisfy your dimsum cravings. But to circle back on the scene a couple of paragraphs up? No thanks, likely will not be back on a weekend. I will trek and discover more deep fried milk elsewhere.

In the ocean of Vancouver's Chinese restaurant, Prince is a good place to go for a quick bite of dim sum. Fairly priced and decent decor. For Chinese foodies, it's not the best place for dinner.

Food: Sometimes over- and under-seasoned (it could be the surplus or lack of MSG - joke slash I'm serious).
i.Heart: Sui Mi (big) and Fong Jow (marinated chicken's feet. I know if you're not Chinese, you're squirming and yes, it's an acquired taste).

Service & Ambiance: Quick as most Canto restaurants are. I always find the lighting awkwardly dim during dinner service though.

Warning: Don't park in Tom's video or the sushi restaurant's spots, they get really upset.

Dim Sum yum.  Close by skytrain, parking is a bit of a hassle but all free street parking.  The turnover rate for this restaurant is pretty quick. We went there at high noon on Saturday and it took us 15 minutes to get a table.  Not bad for a busy lunch period.  Dim sum quality is above average. The siu mais and beef balls are above standard.  The beef chow mien noodles could have been cut in half so it's easier to serve, but good tasting nonetheless. sticky rice was the best I have tasted here so they must prepare the best stuff for the hungry weekend goers.  One negative is they charge for tea.  Some places don't and other places also won't charge it if you know the manager.  Always a nice perk, but oh well

Eaten here several times for dinner with the in-laws (cantonese) and we've always enjoyed it.  It can get quite busy after 7pm.  Parking can be an issue as the parking lot is shared with other businesses and some parking spots are reserved for specific businesses.  Behind the restaurant there is additional parking.

Portions are large and served piping hot.  The menu is extensive and even includes photos of most dishes.  Prices range tend to range from $12-15 per dish, but portions are large and everything is served family style.

While I haven't noticed the seasonings to be under/over done as another reviewer mentioned, I do find that some dishes are a bit rich and somewhat heavy.

Tonight we ate there again and had seafood soup, a special crab dish (crab steamed on a bed of ginger rice), beef with gai lan, spicy eggplant w/egg tofu, and smoked chicken.

My personal fave is the smoked chicken, however my mother-in-law informed me that next time we won't be getting it.  It seems that I order it too often ;-)

Service is quick and food comes out quickly.  We go back often and I've always found it consistently good.

There's really nothing that significant about this restaurant. Their dimsum is expensive, but their portions make up for it (some dishes at least). If you know any one of the servers, they'll treat you better. Otherwise, they're not really nice. I really dislike their female manager (the younger one) because she is so rude! Lets just say that if you know someone there, you'll get way better service. However, if you were to come here during a weekday, you'll get better service. Weekends are kind of crazy.

Dinner here is the mid-class Chinese restaurant price. The food is decent though. It's worth a try.

Prince is now our defacto family restaurant when we go out for Chinese food in Vancouver with my parents.  The price is reasonable and the dishes are flavourful.  You can find all your typical southern Chinese dishes there.  On our last visit, we order their weekly special - fried crabs steamed over fried rice cooked in lotus leaf.  The crab was meaty and the flavour of the rice rivals Hainanese chicken rice.  Some of their specials need to be ordered in advance (e.g. winter melon soup served in a whole winter melon).  Call for details.

Words get around in the community quickly so it does get very busy during dinner hours so I would recommend making reservation.  There is only a few parking stalls designated for the restaurant in front of the small strip mall.  However, there are more parking at the back.

Wound up here totally by accident while our car was being fixed nearby. I was surprised to see how packed it was, but we were still seated pretty quickly and just in time for some yummy dim sum. The food was your standard dim sum fare (which I happen to love) but all that's really sticking out to me is the desert. Golden. Custard. Bun. I can't get it out of my head.  It was the first time I had that desert, and what a delightful, golden, sweet surprise it was. I have moments of such strong cravings for the stuff (and I'm normally not much of a desert person), I will have to go back and stock my fridge with some before I go nuts.

I've had mixed feelings about this place.  Their service, food and room temperature seems to vary every time I'm there.

First time I was there, my whole family and I had to wear our jackets while eating because the vents were pumping cold air even though it was winter time.  And the servers keep forgetting to replenish our tea.

Second time there was pretty good experience.

Third time there, we were there for the dinner instead.  The portions are fairly large and tasted quite nicely.

The next few times there for dim sum was ok la.
