there are a few of these around the city and this is the cream of the crop with respect to magazine selection.
they are sure to have all the popular mags, but what sets it apart are the many offerings they have that are of greater production quality and subject matter. there are magazines on architecture, graphic design, gardening, word puzzles, fashion, sports, photography, art, and so on.
though im sure someone could come along and point out that they may not have some smaller publishers (this is just a hunch; i dont know one way or the other) they do have more than you can handle and for that they are at the top of the totem pole.
they also function as a minor variety store for cigarettes, gums, candy, pops, etc., and are set up in a pretty uninteresting visual way, thats just about displaying as many magazines as they carry.
