Hey, its a gym. If you go here to work out, it is all you need. If you want to go there to hang out, you might find it lacking.
Change room is alright, not spotless, but far from filthy. Apparently the hot water has been sporadic lately, but I live close enough that I don't shower there anyways, so moot for me.
Been a member since Feb/10 with no real problems to speak of.
Used a trainer (2 actually) for 6 months, helped quite a bit I think. My first Trainer has since moved on, but 2nd trainer Niall is still there training away and I very much would recommend him.
Most of the equipment that I use is in decent shape, lots of weights, bars, etc.
Never really that busy, always a few of each cardio machine available.
Not a ton of muscleheads, but not too many social butterflies either.
Just a solid gym. Nothing more, nothing less. -

I didn't have very high expectations considering we had gotten a deal on Livingsocial but I thought we would at least be treated politely.
I started off writing a lengthy description as to how exactly we were treated like we were a burden and a complete waste of their time. But the bottom line is this: If you run a business and are offering a discount of some sort don't treat the people who come in with said discount like trash. They will tell others.
Stay away from this gym. It is awful, the facilities are subpar, the staff are rude/borderline rude, and it will be a complete waste of your time. Save yourself the aggravation and hours I wasted. -

This might be the worst managed gym I've ever been a member at. Its location is convenient, but Ive cancelled my membership because I'm tired of attending a gym that is kept in such poor condition. The roof is constantly leaking, the cardio machines are always broken, and there is never enough equipment...and its not ever that busy so that shouldn't be a problem. I find this appalling!

Been a member for 6 years. I've stayed because it's a great family environment despite the fact that gym is a little run down compared to some other companies.
Pro's:
- Wide variety of classes (Zumba, Yoga, Pilates, Muay Thai)
- Professional staff (certified nutritionist, kinesiologists, personal trainers, boxing coaches)
- Friendly staff
- Daycare AND Kid Programs
- Ladies only section
- Never too busy
Con's:
- Club is old and becoming run down a little
- Need more cleaning staff -

I've been going to this gym since January, so far I'm liking it. The gym is very hot, but hello it's a gym, people go there to sweat. I have breathing problems so sometimes this is an issue for me. However! There is an all ladies side which is much more open and airy, I LOVE the women's side. There isn't a seperate workout space and the machines are more limited on this side but it works for what I need to do.
I've never had any problems with anything being taken from the changeroom, and in regards to the club being a bit older, they are currently RENOVATING :). They have plans for an all new women's change room, and have been updating the current ones including new tiling, shower updates etc.
I really enjoy that when I joined you give you a fitness assessment that measuring your weight, along with youe muscle and water content. They also do your measurements (i.e. hips, chest, waist) so you can keep track over the months. This is a one time fee service ($50) but assessments are done every 3 months if we you ask for them (free of charge).
I ended up signing up for a training program with the club so I could get my own workout plan made for me. My trainer is wonderful, LOVE HER! She's very nice but pushes me so that I keep at it. She also gives me a variety of exercises and tells me what exactly each exercise is going to do for me. She has to this date already made me 2 seperate workout routines for me to do on my own. She's fairly affordable at 29 bucks bi weekly.
I have never done the classes (which was originally my intent) but I've heard they are very good! There is one intriguing on called "ab ripper" that I am too scared to attend.
Overall, very pleased. The only downfall is that the health centre is sometimes hard to get ahold of if you need to make training appointments. -

Been a member since Jan 2011. I have to say this is not a great location, yes its a gym and has most of the equipment you need, However - not a good thing when half the treadmills always seem to be out of service, and the ones that are "working" have issues, I almost fell off a treadmill because the belt kept stalling every so often making me loose my balance... For me this is half the battle, inadequate cardio machines (treadmills specifically) There are 2 aerobics rooms, I enjoy taking a mat and some free weights into a room , however there are times when 2 classes are happening at the same time leaving no room for stretching or working out solo without a machine... Oh, and you're lucky if you find toilet paper ladies or paper towel to dry your hands , they always seem to be out.. It's been a HOT summer, what gym doesnt have A/C ?? seriously guys! Ive had 2 personal trainers, they all seem to leave or be quite unreliable.. (the ones ive had anyway) All in all this gym needs to be updated and machines need to be serviced more frequently.. I hear the new premier in Whitby is immaculate - a far cry from the Danforth location !
