This is everything that I look for in a coffee shop and more:
-kind owners that know/treat their patrons like friends
-comfy, varied, seating that meshes well
    -coffee with a passion
-baked goods that aren't from Circles and Squares
-giant bookshelf with well chosen reading material
    -art everywhere, colourful walls

And a general vibe of, stick around for as long as you want. We'd love to host you. And not host you in the "spend as much money as you like" sense, in the "oh look, a new friend" sense.

While I studied here, the owner's son chatted with one of the regulars who lent him a movie. This was apparently a common occurrence.
All the regulars seemed to know each other. And in a way that suggested that they met at Prana. I would love to live here and with everyone who dropped by.

They also have open mic nights, poetry readings, all manner of cool artsy events. I hope to drop by for one of those!

Keeping with the THEME. I walked towards Prana Coffee and noticed their sign for 'The Best Iced-Cap in Toronto" so I walked through the door and as I walked through I noticed there are actually seating at the windows too if you're tiny enough to seat cross-legged.

A few options for seating, leather armchairs, cushioned chairs, fabric armchairs, and some funky cushions. A few BOOKS available for some those loungey readers. Seats also available outdoors on the pedestrian sidewalk.

I got the Iced Capp and as it went into the Blender, it went on automatic SPIN cycle and went from level 1 to level 4 airplane engine mode. The Ice Cap had some minuscule Coffee Grounds inside that isn't that pleasant to chew or get stuck to the teeth but it definitely gave the COOL drink a roasty Cappuccino flavour. It still has that sweetness and milkiness alike to Tim Hortons though.

On display are some unusual looking MUFFINS that can only look like that because it's not commercially made. The Milk/Cream sits inside a cooler contraption that guarantees freshness, unlike other franchises. There's a historical reference on the wall that dates back their heritage to Indonesia which the website also offers.

Prana Coffee has a great atmosphere, and the folks behind the counter are really, really nice.

They have a sign in the window claiming that they make the best iced capp. Usually I shrug off these sorts of claims made by cafes and restaurants (they all do it) but in the case of Prana, it's true. If it's not the best, well... it doesn't get much better.

After reading a newspaper review of the cafe, I discovered that the shop continues a coffee roasting tradition going back 120 years, beginning with the great grandfather of the shop's co-founder in Indonesia.

Quite the legacy for a comfy little shop in the beaches!

I love the vibe in this place..   I stumbled upon it one night while out for a walk in the beach area.  I had to use the bathroom, it was the only place, open, and I didn't have my wallet on me.  The owner, who I've come to know as Angelina Jolie, took me completely off guard with her hospitality.  So much so, that I decided to come back (with my wallet)...

It's the vibe in here that makes me feel so good.  I've only tried the Gen Maicha Green Tea, and a slice of chocolate zucchini bread so far, but both were great, and I look forward to trying more of what Prana has to offer.  And from the looks of it, it's not just me that's enjoying the good vibes and food.  Business seems steady with lots of locals stopping by on a Saturday afternoon.  Goes to show, being 'nice' can be great for business!
