Came here 2 times both dinners. Both times under 20 dollars for all you can eat hot pot. Meat is fresh frozen delicious. Broth very good. My fav parts are the vegetables. They just seem so fresh like someone just picked them from the garden that morning. Great moderny casual atmosphere. Servers really make sure that you're take care of.

This place is a well runed operating machine. Seems like everything is in sync.    I think this has to be one of the best deals in the lower mainland in terms of dining experience. Highly recommended !!!

As I was glued to my toilet violently barfing my brains out for the 4th day in a row, I took a moment to ask myself: "WHY did I eat at Posh!?" Food Poisoning. Those 2 words pretty much sum up my experience at this restaurant. I acknowledge that it IS hot pot, and there's a chance I might have eaten a piece or 2 of meat that weren't fully cooked, but even so, I highly doubt ingesting a tiny bit of not-fully-cooked meat is suppose to cause extreme nausea for 4 days.

I highly suspect the cleanliness of their kitchen. That said, if you are adamant in eating here then I would urge you to double-check the done-ness of your food AND have a bottle of Pepto Bismol ready in your medicine cabinet. Blah!

I couldn't help noticing the big black and white sign on the window of Post restaurant in Burnaby. Underneath "Value", the blurp writes "At Posh, you can expect the highest quality. We look for the freshest most natural ingredients to provide you with the best dining vale and experience".

After the dining experience, I'd say, please remove the value sign down. You are embarrassing yourselves. It's really okay if you don't use the freshest, finest, or best ingredients - just don't write what you can't deliver.

The soup base = Japanese soy sauce + water (aka, I can do it too for cheaper). Hot pot ingredients? Pork slices were fine but beef slices? Yuck. I think these beef slices were about to go bad in about a day or two. They were FAR from fresh. The vegetables and other hot pot items were just mediocre. Paying $22 per person for all you can eat hot pot with the stuff I had was very not worth the dollar.

Would I go back? Probably not unless if I had my meal paid for.

What happened to this place?  It looks exactly the same, but my experience was like night and day!

The decor still looks great and inviting.  The staff still have friendly smiles on their faces, but that is where it ends.  I have a lot of love for Posh, but I am so disappointed during my last visit.

    Where do I begin?

The menu has drastically shrunk.  They do not offer a lot of items that were previously on the menu the last 5 or 6 times I went.  This makes the all you can eat very limited.  Some of the items removed were favorites of mine and aren't too expensive either.  (Ex: tomatoes, winter melon, egg..)

One of the dishes on the table was dirty.  Not just a little dirty, there was soy sauce drips in them.

When I asked for a cup of water, they brought me a cup with a chip on it.  I could have seriously cut my lips.

I tried to flag down a waiter 4 times for more water, but they pretended not to see me.  I saw your eyeball, I know you saw me!  When I finally got some service, the waitress was super nice though.

They also kept a lot of empty dishes on our table and did not take them away.  It was annoying because the stack was high.

So why the 2/5 stars and not a 1?  The food was still very good.  I am going to give them one more chance and whoever is the manager, I really hope they make some changes FAST.  If nothing changes, I'm going to have to say goodbye.  What a shame.

Posh had a great TastyGo promotion and since a few of us at the office like the hotpot there, we each decided to get one and go several times.

We showed up at 1130am for lunch, we were ONLY patrons there.  The sole waitress comes to take our order and we give her our coupon up front.  She says, I'm sorry, you have to make a reservation and points to the fine print on the form that says "reservation required".

Ok that's fair, I guess... even though I just saw a tumbleweed roll by...

We ask for an exception, since there is no one in the restaurant.

She's tells us she'll call her boss to ask.  Ok, np - we'll wait.  She comes by to take our orders again.  (remember, we are the only ones in the whole restaurant).  We're like "uh, we are waiting to see if we can use our coupon".  She's goes "oh right, ok".

5 minutes pass before she returns with "my boss said you have to make the reservation at least one day in advance".

Ok that's NOT fair.  I point out that no where on the coupon does it say you need 24-hour notice to make a lunch reservation.

Now we get the deer in headlight look from her.

We decided to go across the street for some pho at Pho Tan (it was really good as usual).

We'll be back because the food at Posh is good and with the coupons, the value is even better.

Hopefully this blunder is just a one-off on their part.

Awesome Japanese HOTPOT! This place is great, I love the atmosphere, the design of the restaurant, the great service and most or all the amazing HOTPOT! Because its all you can eat, you can eat to your hearts content, fairly affordable at that!!

So if you're ever in the neighborhood and want some fresh healthier food, drop by ... oh and make sure to call me if you do! =D

If you leave hungry, it's your own darn fault!
Posh will definitely make sure there is an unending supply. Tucked away off Kingsway it is kinda hidden but makes a big splash when you walk into the place.

Unique cooking methods and fresh veggies with thinly sliced meats is the premise. Sukiyaki is their speciality and each table has it's own cooker with hot pot. You start with a list of meats and veggies and the server hands you a pen where you can check off the quantities you want. They have 2 kinds of meats, super tender beef and pork. Then you get a tray of the various veggies you selected along with a bowl of rice, vermicelli, udon noodles. The hot pot has a broth started with a mixture of cabbage and onions with a unique soy sauce blend.
You cook your own mixture and eat it with the rice or noodles.

People, this stuff is off the charts......So freaken good!
The manager is right on his game and came over to me and noticed I prefered the rice with meat and suggested I try the sate (peanut sauce). Boy does this guy know his stuff. He was right! Liquid gold.

Tony wins Server Of the Year in my estimation. He is on point all the time and was so cordial and helpful. His suggestions and tips on how to cook was so sweet. His customer service skills puts any other waiter I have incountered in the last 5 years to shame. Give this guy a raise!

If you haven't tried it yet I highly recommend Posh. First class food combined with first class service. You can't get any better than that.

We had a gathering with friends here for lunch and I have to say its a nice place!  We had the all- you-can-eat hotpot and we got some interesting drinks (grapefruit and 7-up, which tastes like fresca; leechy and grapefruit, which tastes like hubba bubba bubble gum...)  The food was great...  there was a giant selection of veggies and meat and noodles and the broth was a sweet soy flavour... very good!  I didn't understand the raw egg dip and I didn't go for it, I don't think many people went for it either, but it was still pretty cool.
This place is decent for all you can eat hotpot and the idea is pretty unique!  Recommended!

For the few selection compare to a Chinese hotpot, sometimes wilted veggies served and the price (have to pay extra for hot sauce, condiments, etc). It's not worth it. With the recent increase in cost and not getting better quality or value is making us not want to come back anymore.

All you can eat?!?!?  Count me in!!  Pretty good sukiyaki joint in Burnaby and for only 16 bux AYCE!  I believe they had a "supreme" dinner option, bu it was too rich for my blood.  Thinly sliced beef and pork with a wide array of veggies (boy choy, spinach, baby corn, mushrooms, yam....), noodles, udon, tofu, and fish cakes gently simmering it a sukiyaki broth.. mmmmmmmmmmm yummerz!!

Soft poach an egg, satay sauce, little bit of the soy broth, noodles, and veg/meat = crazy delicious!!!

    Two warnings....
    1) Careful how much you order cause I feel like I could eat forever with what they were giving me(veg, tofu, thin slices of meat), but then when the second round came.... oh how quickly I came to regret ordering all those meat platters! haha

    2) Like all hot pot and BBT places..... you walk out smelling like the restaurant....... Wear clothes that's doesn't soak up the odours.

AYCE, Japanese hot pot, and it's Posh in the Burnaby area. I have only been to the Richmond and the West Broadway location, so I guess I can compare to their others. I definately like the space and seating of this location, especially when it comes to comparing this one to Richmond. You definately are not cramped (like sitting right next to eachother with no breathing space) and the restaurant itself is just bigger.

With the extra room, it allows you to eat more cause your eating comfortably! And that is a great relief, especially when you do realize there is alot of arm movement due to the fact you are cooking the food yourself, and need to 'swish' the meat in the pot and do not need your elbow to hit someone's face!

I have to say that the service here is not bad, as once we put our order in, the food came in an instant. The time we were there was about 8 PM, and they were pretty packed and were still able to serve us quick with all our demands, so thumbs up on this.

The price comes out to almost $20 a head after tip, and this is not like Chinese hot pot, where the menu is limited, but it is a pretty good menu if you have people with allergies to shellfish, as there is no seafood on the menu. The choices of meat are pork and beef, the soup base is sukiyaki (where you add it, and also water) and you control the soup flavour in some ways, and then you get a wide assortment of veggies, and noodles (especially the instant, yum!).

When you come prepare to eat, and eat, and eat and then really feel it by the end of the night, but usually it's always good times especially with like a party of 4 as you always seem to eat more with more people.

Definitely make a reservation if you're planning on going for dinner. Went last tuesday and made the mistake of assuming they wouldn't be as busy since its weekday evening. WRONG.

Been here a couple times, first tried Posh in Richmond and was delighted when one came into my area. I often come for lunch (it's the same thing, but cheaper, plus faarrr less busy). It's I belive 12.95 or 15.95 for lunch and dinner respectively and completely worth the price. (i think they mostly get you on the drink pricing) It's an all you can eat, which so far in Vancouver hasn't seemed to fail after its initial win.

Read the other reviews - completely agree with not ordering too much. It's always a struggle to not be too full when the second round of food orders comes around.

    LOVE IT.

I have come here many, many times and the service and food is consistent. I find this location A LOT bigger than the Richmond one. I found the menu slightly different, less veggies. I recommend daikon (radish), winter melon, spinach, and taro to add to the veggie menu. I am fine with just beef and pork because that is all I need. I would also recommend balls - fish, shrimp, pork, beef. Nonetheless, this time around I had the tasty go vouchers and the drinks are included. I absolutely love the strawberry slush - yumm! The non slush drinks are iffy (I only tried the strawberry yogurt and it was gross). The service was really good and quick....mind you we were there on a week night and one of the few there (I like to eat early). Will come back again even without the voucher. I remember the price when it first came out at $14.88, which is probably why it was busier (long long line ups). I can't complain, I leave full every single time.
