Before the Garrison and Red Light, there was Ports but you may not have noticed it. It wasn't the type of place for young and hip people to hang out. Its regulars were older gentlemen, drinking and playing poker at electronic table consoles. Its run down decor was enough of a deterrent to keep you away from it and it seemed destined to remain that way. But things are rapidly changing on Dundas West and Ports is catching up.

The conversion from a divey sports bar to a funky, less divey, hipper space is apparent: The decor is a mix of 70s vintage accessories with a contemporary feel. The overall atmosphere is unpretentious and comfortable. Add the friendly attitude of their bar staff and you have a great combination.

Ports is a big space: there's a stage in the front, seating booths with comfy leather seats across the long bar. In the back, there's more seating in little nooks around the pool tables.

Their bar is fully stocked bar and they have a good selection of brews on tap like St. Ambroise Oatmeal Stout, Stella Artois, 50 and Mills Street Organics Pale Ale.

Ports plays host to weekly events like live music shows. Monday nights are jam nights so if you need a place to work on your guitar or vocal skills, this might be the place for you.
