Flushing, NY
Came here 2 days in a row. Yes it's that good.
First came on Friday morning around 7 & had my corned beef hash & eggs which is great as usual. My daughter was with me & she was cranky from our 13 hr jet lag but the waiter was very good about it.
Then went back on Saturday with the wife & decided to have some pancakes, something I usually don't crave or am crazy about but the pancakes were great! They were light, spongy & had a great light taste. I will definitely be back for the pancakes.
Oh the coffee is great too.
Service suffered but it wasn't the waitress fault it was really that busy. Took more time to get the check than to get our food. LOL1 Previous Review: Show all »

I live near here.
Atmosphere isn't great, I usually get delivery. Nice and easy.
Usually get the fried chicken..4 pieces is pretty filling, and with chicken noodle soup and fries!
Once I got the burgers and onion rings...onion rings are not good, burgers are normal.
This place is hit and miss, but 4 stars because I love their chicken! Something about their batter makes the skin sweetish and delicious.
AND ITS SUPER CHEAP! -
Review from Billie F.
Simple, cheap, fast, tasty breakfast! It's also only a few blocks from me and within walking distance. I've walked past this place hundreds of times and never went in until my boyfriend suggested we try it.
Don't come in here expecting anything fancy. It's a diner. But for a quick and tasty meal, stop in! For two people to sit and eat breakfast and leave feeling full, the bill came to $10. How can you beat that?
The food is really good, and I am definitely picky when it comes to a good diner stlye breakfast. This is now our new breakfast spot (now I have to try their regular menu!), and the best part is its been right underneath my nose the whole time! -

Ok one word about this little place AWESOME!
THIS is why Yelp works
my daughter and I needed breakfast on the way home from LGA
why not have an awesome I says to myself
thanks to my Yelp phone app, up comes Pops
what more can I say
little place appears to be a typical sort of place until we opened the menu our eyes opened WIDE at the prices
a full I mean FULL breakfast under 5 bucks! I kid you not
that's including toast and juice and REALLY GOOD coffee (coffee is my passion so when I say its good you all listen to me, it is good)
go relax they are not pushy at all
and the older guy working there , he sort of looked mean WAS NOT even the teeniest bit , he wished a good holiday and we were on our way
I know for sure I will be back! -

I went to Pop's Coffee Shop based on reviews on Yelp and was not disappointed.
This is a small friendly neighborhood joint serving all the traditional items you'd expect from a breakfast menu. I was looking for a typical breakfast place that I could get in and out of reasonably fast, not too much food and not too expensive.
The staff were friendly, the coffee good and hot and the food served in a timely manner and all pretty inexpensive.
I have no complaints about this place and would come again. -

Queens, NY
Don't come in expecting gourmet food or brunch with mimosa. This isn't Long Island City, or Williamsburgh.
Pop's is a local neighborhood diner/coffee shop. I particularly think their breakfast menu is what they're known for. (their specials only last till 11am so get here early.)
There are loads of combos for less than $5. Typical example would be 2 eggs, home fried potatoes, and choice of bacon, sausage or ham with coffee AND orange juice. (OJ comes in a double shot glass. Don't be disappointed.)
There's also corn beef hash, pancakes, french toast, with the same extras but those are less than $6. Too rich for my blood.
Btw, you want to try their sausage. They're plump and juicy.1 Previous Review: Show all »

I made a yelp account just to rate this extraordinary place.
I'm so glad that I woke up at 11am, was feeling way too lazy to cook anything for breakfast, and decided to check yelp.
They do breakfast all day!!! That was the best thing I've heard this whole day.
The man who took my order for breakfast delivery was very kind and helped me order my breakfast dish.
I got 2 eggs scrambled with sausage, home fries, and toasted white toast with butter. I also ordered extra sausages because I love sausages and I thought they would give me like one tiny sausage link, but boy was I wrong. It comes with 2 FAT sausage links that taste so delicious and are so filling! I don't know what to do with the extra sausages.. Hahah will eat them eventually! With the extra sausages, it was $8.75, which I didn't think was that bad at all! Will definitely be calling back for breakfast! -

Let me just say I have not been coming here since I was a kid. I emigrated here from Wisconsin. My boys will be brought here so they can have fond reminisces.
There was one kid there, amongst the 4 groups of eaters, and the people coming in and out for delivery orders.
"This is a cute little place," Cori V said. We got two omelets for under $11. The potatoes were average, toast good. The coffee wasn't bad. The atmosphere wasn't bad. "There's no fuss there, it's simple," said Cori V. -

Can't beat the price and feel. A little diner but very good food. The owner is very nice. I used to work in the area and it was a nice place to go to grab breakfast or lunch.

cozy old school diner feeling. The wall is decorated with cute ads and vintage signs. The service is fast and friendly and the kitchen is in the front of house. You can here the owner direct food orders to the cooks and not one beat is missed. Great food and great prices as well. I ordered 2 eggs with hash and sausage which was about 5 dollars. I'm talking about the real deal sausages too! Not those puny sausage links.

i was here with my friend and bf for brunch at 3:30-yeah, we had a long night. i ordered the two eggs (soft scrambled) with corned beef hash. my friend got the western omelet with mozzarella, and my bf got an order of the two eggs(scrambled) with bacon. the place was rustic and quaint, and we pretty much were talking about how cute the old men sitting on the counter were- reminded me of my grandpa. the manager of the place was really nice and seemed to know the old men because we thought the kiss on the forehead he gave to the other old dude on the counter was way too cute. but anyway, the food was good and served my brunch appetite just right. the price was really helpful as we're college students on a budget and i enjoyed my time here-lounging and sitting in my sweats. :)

For years I have seen this little establishment every time I drove down Kissena Blvd. Don't let the dinky modest look outside fool you, look a little closer and you'll see a Yelp sticker on the side! To my surprise Pop's scored four stars, and rightfully so!
As you walk in you just get the old school neighborhood establishment feel to it. Greetings right as you step foot and smiles all around. Yes it may look rickety and the seats aren't updated but you know what? That's what gives this place character, to me it's cozy and comfy.
I read of their French Toast and sausages but Angie I. stole my idea forcing me to order two eggs, ham and corn beef hash. Their menu's limited and not as broad as their bigger competitor's but who really eats half of that stuff? More than half of it probably tastes like crap anyways. I'd rather have good limited choices than an abundance of nastiness.
If you're looking for that familiar friendly environment with good diner chow for a few bucks around the way then look no further. Stop on in to your dose get your 3 S's: smiles, service and subsistence (the best word I can think of for food with an S). -
Review from Diana F.
I did a little researching on Yelp before venturing out to Flushing for brunch with my cousin today. A slip on ice and 20 minutes of avoiding puddles later, we finally got a seat in the back of this place. I got french toast with sausages and my cousin got a turkey burger with just lettuce and tomatoes. The sausages were sooooo good, mmmmmmm. The french toast was too but I couldn't finish it all. I got a coffee to go on the way out and dang, this coffee is good. And for 95 cents, super super wallet friendly. You are sure to leave here full and you won't be broke. Everything came out to $11.35. That is craaaaaaazy.
**I considered getting Starbucks before getting here since I was standing right across the street from it/I was waiting for my cousin who was running late even though she told me NOT to be late/it was rainy and cold...then I thought, who the hell pays 3 bucks for coffee? Can't wait to try out everything else here soon!! -

Great little Diner in Asia-town.
This place is in the heart of Downtown Flushing and other than McDonalds and similar fast food restaurants, you will have a bit of trouble finding a NON-Asian food place. I wanted breakfast. I wanted pancake, eggs and bacon. Pop's delivered and at a good price. The only caveat is that all the food tastes like bacon and sausage. It is the griddle that they use. It all goes on the same one.
Nice guys work here. -

My boyfriend and i ordered breakfast from this spot. I had the corn beef hash w/ 2 eggs over easy, home fries and toast and my bf had eggs w/ home fries, toast and pancakes. Everything was really good. Delivery was really quick. The only thing they messed up was putting cheese on my corn beef instead of my bf's home fries. I also wish they would have provided utensils, more condiments and a copy of their menu. Will definitely order from here again, when I'm feeling lazy and dont want to cook breakfast:)

Reason for dining: My beau and I were up early on a Satuday morning. We thought we get breakfast but didn't want to drive far. I went on yelp and found this place. So we got dressed and headed for this place. Small little diner with old decor but feels super homey and nice from all the mass chain restaurants.
Dining Date: 9/11/2010
Service: SUPER ATTENTIVE! Walked in and everyone who worked in the resaurant were all occupied so my beau and I just went to an empty booth. A minute later, someone brought us the breakfast menus. We were asked twice for the duration of our dining if we needed anything else and how our meals were. When we left, the guy at the register (I presume he's the owner) was nice and said "good bye, come again" as we were leaving the restaurant.
Food:
FRENCH TOAST WITH SAUSAGE - I ordered this dish mainly for the french toast and the sausage was for my beau. DELICIOUS! The bread was not too soggy nor hard which is difficult to accomplish. The french toast reminded of the ones that Mother used to make. Don't sleep on the sausages because these weren't tiny sausages, these were two decent size sausages that I was surprised to see on my plate for the price of my meal.
TWO EGGS WITH CORN HASH - My beau ordered this and he enjoyed it very much. The dish came with a side of homefries which was potatoes diced super tiny mixed with with onions that was cooked to perfection..not to mushy and not too dry. JUST RIGHT!
Our meals came with orange juice and the choice of coffee / tea and a plate of buttered toast.
Overall: This is the place to go If you want CHEAP American breakfast in the Flushing, Queens that is not from a fast food chain restaurant like McDs or iHOP. For 2, our bill came out to $15 bucks including tip. (iHOP can't beat that price!)
NOTE: One bad experience is that I saw a tiny cockaroach walked across our table. (reason why I gave this a 3 vs a 4 star) -
Review from Rashid M.
Very old diner located in a busy neighborhood. The seats and everything is old, but the service is pretty good.
For breakfast or lunch, this is a great place since it's the only diner in the neiborhood. Food is decent and very cheap. -

Fresh Meadows, NY
I'm always in search of a great diner and after living in Queens for my entire life, I think I've finally found one that satisfies my breakfast cravings. Pop's a little shop located on Kissena Blvd. It's the type of place where the waiters know their customers.
After visiting multiple diners with the same menu and service, Pop's is definitely a huge improvement. All I have to say is..pancakes. I absolutely love pancakes and Pop's makes them well. They're cooked perfectly. the only downfall is there isn't maple syrup, just the stuff that comes from those little containers (think McDonald's breakfast).
My friend and I shared the pancakes. I ordered the turkey smothered with gravy with mash and white bread, him the ham steak. I wasn't a huge fan of the mash potatoes. It was too liquified and bland for my tastebuds. The turkey was good; white meat and not dry. Ham steak scares the bejeebus out of me but I managed to take a bite and I admit it was good.
But I think the next time I come here I'll just stick to the breakfast items.
Pro: nothing on the menu is over $5-6 -

It's not too far from Cunningham Park. The food is great. Living in the NYC and growing up in Jersey, this is one of my Top 5 dinners. I didn't except a unique experience. This is place took me back, it reminds me of the movie, four brothers. High five to the establishment for keeping the dinner experience. The burger and fries it the spot. You have to try to special order of jalapeno peppers with your burgers.
I can't wait, until I go back for some breakfast. -

Came here and had some coffee and cole slaw. I woulda had some real food but I just ate lunch... brought two of my buddies with me, who each had a coffee too. The bill came out to like 4 bucks or something. I couldn't believe how cheap it was. The coffee was real good, and they just don't make coffee shops like this anymore... I bet the food rocks too, 4 stars!!!
been back here a few more times, whenever my dad gets me from the airport at JFK or LGA, food is tasty. -

I'm not changing my initial review because I haven't been back to see for myself if anything has improved, but I will say that after I wrote about my bad experience there, the manager wrote me to apologize and assure me that they had rectified what I complained about.
Cheers to you, Pop's, for staying on top of your feedback! Maybe I'll swing by sometime for another milkshake.1 Previous Review: Show all »

For diner food Pops gets 4 stars. Key word: DINER. I'm not talking 4 star restaurant here.
I've come here several times and enjoyed the pancakes with ham. The friend prefers the French toast and ham. Comes with coffee and OJ. I have yet to try lunch here but I had some food envy for some of the fries that were being served to other patrons.
Nothing gourmet about this place but prices are great, service is prompt and the ambiance is cozy. It makes me think of a cute little diner from back in the day. Nothing corporate or mass produced about this place. -

The service is excellent .. the food is good but not great (if you're a foodie reading this review) .. I come here because the ppl are friendly, the food is dirt cheap, and it's near my place ..
I tried the french toast b/c another yelper said it was the best she's ever had .. it's good but something I could make .. the rest of the food is like that .. it's something you could make at home which is probably what's most appealing about it .. the waffles are big, tasty, and crispy .. I've had an egg, cheese, and bacon sandwich that was small, cheap, and extra tasty ...
Come here for the service, solid food, and cheap prices! but if you're looking for real french toast, there are plenty of french brunch places in the city and elsewhere in Queens (Cafe Henri is my fav) .. -

I have been coming here ever since I could remember. It's a great diner with many wallet friendly items. Their breakfasts begin at 6am and are a steal. I don't think any item or combo on the breakfast menu is over $4.50. All combos come with a teeny glass of OJ or a yummy cup of coffee. I love their sausages but my favorite item is their chicken noodle soup (which I sometimes get as a side in my breakfast combo). =)
The regulars are probably all from the senior center from across the street and my little chinese family. The waiter has been there forever. and knows just about every face that walks in. I hadn't been there since I left for boarding school in HS and came back as a young professional after college and he STILL knew me as the girl who loves chicken noodle soup. *tear* Walking into the diner, you'll feel as if you walked back into the '80's cause the decor sure as hell hasn't changed since then. It's a great little all-american diner with a greek waiter that knows everyone's name, and is owned by koreans. -

Pops is a good old fashioned greesy spoon diner. There aren't too many places like this around Flushing anymore. Its a good place to stop in for a quick burger or breakfast. The prices are very fair and the staff is very friendly. Plus they deliver. But be careful ordering a burger, they only come rare or well done.

I've been coming to Pops diner since I was a little kid. The food here is pretty good too. It's nothing special , just good old American Diner food. This is a great place to come by to get a cup of coffee or to eat some breakfast. The service here is pretty good and they have the same waiter here since I was a little a kid.

I live in Carlyle Skyline and Pop's is an icon in the neighborhood. Cheap, hot & fresh off the grill/griddle, and great service. The folks there are the last of a dying breed: the diner staff. They remember their customers faces, or at least it feels like they do because they're so friendly. I LOVE their breakfast menu and sometimes, I pig out on their burgers which are juicy and well prepared. They keep the coffee cups overflowing with free refills. I hate the fact that it's such a small place. I wish it were bigger and they maintained longer hours but hey...by the crack of dawn, they are already opened! I recommend this place as a diner. Don't expect fancy fanfare here. Just down home food, smiles and comfort. LOVE YOU POP'S!!

I've been coming here with my parents and friends since I was a wee little one. Actually I had my first experience with traditional American breakfast at Pop's. The waiter, I believe his name is George, is extremely nice and helpful. The food is also amazing. I haven't been there in a while but they use to have little shot glasses of free OJ. They also have awesome burgers and fries.

Flushing, NY
Like another Yelp member, I more or less grew up in Flushing but had never really dined at Pops until only a few years ago. Since I'm constantly eating Chinese food (It's more or less your only option in Flushing) it's nice to eat American food from time to time and being that Pops is so close to my apartment- this is the place to be. The prices here are great, the staff are really helpful and the cheeseburger here taste great! It's a great place to get breakfast and coffee on a Saturday morning with friends. The only bummer with this place is that they close very early.
