Review from Matthew A.
I love the Pont Champlain bridge.
It is not the bridge exactly that what I love about it.
It is the view and the feeling while driving over it towards the City of Montreal.
The view is spectacular! I can see the big downtown skyscrapers, old Montreal, the Stadium Olympic, La Ronde, Mt Royal, and so many local sights.
The view is so wonderful that I sometimes forget to look down to admire the tremendous and mighty St Lawrence River.
I feel really excited to cross this bridge, as I know my journey from the USA is over and I can now relax and enjoy my favorite Canadian city. -

Okay, so it can be a big pain in the ass when it's unexpectedly closed or sectioned off due to the whole lacking of any structural integrity thing that has recently come to light. And forget about getting anywhere on time if you choose this bridge during rush hour. However, if you take Champlain bridge you will see an astonishing view of the city. You'll get a nice view of the St. Lawrence seaway and of l'Isle des Soeurs. You'll probably see several other bridges linking Montreal to the South Shore that are probably much safer to drive on, and that will probably last much longer. However, you'll find that driving on Champlain has a very postcard-esque feel to it, if such a thing exists. It's pretty damn nice.
True, it might be falling apart. But until the day it collapses, I'll always be a fan.
