Review from Jon F.
Saskatoon, SK
Flint's daytime alter ego.
Poached manages to pull off a different atmosphere than Flint while being in the same location.
I have been to Poached a few times and truly believe it to be the best breakfast in Saskatoon if you care about quality over quantity.
I recommend the crab cakes. Also, the maple bacon rolls and potato croquettes are great. -
Review from Angela L.
I literally did a double take when I passed right by Poached Breakfast Bistro, assuming that it was just Flint Saloon. I've only ever come to this spot for drinks and finger foods before and thought that it was still only open at night. Although this is true of Flint, the same space actually transforms itself into Poached during the day for brunch.
The long, bright room was packed with chatty diners when I entered and was greeted by a friendly server with clipboard in hand. Although he initially quoted a 20 minute wait time, he almost immediately retracted this unattractive estimate and showed me to a line of bar stools in the back where I could take a seat for a "very quick" wait.
To start, my thickly frothed and liberally seasoned soy chai latte ($4) was wonderfully warm (and not scorching). It took a notably long time for my food to arrive although this was understandable seeing as how every table was filled. There were so many people coming through the door that the servers spent half their time politely providing long wait times for large parties of guests filing in.
My eggs benedict was pretty good. I like that it arrived on a unique hard boiled egg shaped dish. It was nice that it came with a side salad instead of the usual heavy home fries. The baby spinach topped with goat cheese, julienned carrots, and sunflower seeds was a colourful mix, but would have been much tastier had it been tossed ahead of time to give the runny dressing some time to marinate.
The genuinely friendly service at Poached is refreshing and makes the whole experience extra pleasant and the lengthy wait list and then the food preparation time worthwhile. -

Quite a glorious surprise coming across this gem on my short visit to Saskatoon.
Beautiful women, great service, original, fun, delicious dishes all at a fair price.
Highly recommended! I will certainly be checking this place out each and every time I am in the area :)

Wonderful breakfast place! I travel for a living, so I eat a lot of breakfast all over the US and Canada, and this place ranks up there for sure. Service was great, the vibe of the bistro is great and the FOOD! Me and my partner got the eggs bendict (perfect and different hollandaise sauce and perfectly poached eggs), stuffed french toast (with peaches and apricots and cream cheese - so yummy!) and a side of maple wrapped bacon rolls, which were amazing! Love any place that has fresh squeezed OJ....
