I hate pet stores because they make me sad. I hate seeing puppies locked in little boxes. But as far as pet stores go, I guess this one is OK.
I've seen people playing with puppies here which makes me happy that the dogs get out a bit and get some human love.
I love looking at the different kinds of fish though. They have a nice selection of different ones and they are really beautiful to see.
They also have all your pet supply needs covered. They have food, dishes, tanks, stands, toys, accessories, perches, everything you could need to take great care of your beloved house pet.
The staff seem to know what they are talking about too s that's always a bonus when you're out shopping. Especially if you are just starting off with a new pet, they will know just what you need.
Like I said, I'm not an advocate for pet stores (which is why I'm only giving it 3 stars) but this one seems to be one of the better ones. -

I set up my fish tank through them. I had a hard time as the guy who sold me my first fish set me up with fish who could not co-exist with any other fish. To say the least it took me an extra 3 trips trading in fish in order to fill my tank with fish that would co-exist properly. Essentially I wanted a community tank filled with friendly fish, instead I got aggressive fish that would kill anything remotely friendly. It took a guy at aquarium illusions to help me figure out my tank was set up improperly.
I did find the guys there very knowledgeable but I disliked having my tank set up improperly.
I did also have an issue with a fish that died within 7 days. They gave me the run around for a good 30 minutes. I left to compose myself and came back to speak with the manager who after some convincing fixed the issue. Tough people to deal with. -

PJ's Pet Store offers a wide selection of animals to join your family: cats, dogs, fish, lizards, guinea pigs, snakes, rabbits...pretty much everything short of leopards and lions. They also offer a good selection of accompanying food.
A good test for how well pets are treated at a pet store is to look at how they behave. At PJ's, they are all full of energy and happy to see you (unless asleep of coarse)....a testament to the great care they receive from the staff. They also have a lot of background information on the animals as well. For example, most of their puppies are bought from private breeders, and they have all the accompanying paper work so you know which litter the pup came from.
This location has moved around in WEM. It used to be beside London Drugs and the minigolf court, however it is now beside Chapters. The store is more narrow, however deeper compared to their old location.
The staff here are very friendly and knowledgeable. If they don't have the information you're looking for, they certainly have a lot of brochures that will educate you on the matter. The staff often let you interact with the animals as well, to determine if they will be a good fit for your home. Feel free to pick them up!
