Brooklyn, NY
First time here: A friend and I came through the doors and were immediately seated. We ordered the sliders and they were DELICIOUS (or was I just hungry?). The dessert was amazing as well. I ordered the mini apple pie and it was yummy--it even had a cute little American flag on it! We gave a decent tip for decent service.
Second time here: The same friend and I came through the doors and were NOT immediately seated. I think we were standing there for a minute wondering what to do with ourselves. When we were finally seated, the waitress comes by and we order the drinks we want. To my dismay... the drink that I wanted couldn't be made because of some weird black stuff coming out of the iced tea machine??? (EW.) So I ordered a raspberry lemonade... my friend warned me that it'd be really sweet... and she was right. It was super sugary and from that point on... I felt sick. Next up was our order of the chicken penne and ew again. The chicken's texture was disgusting--as though it had just been reheated. The penne, however, was the most disappointing. There was clearly sauce on it, but there was no taste whatsoever. Also, the whole dish wasn't even the right temperature, it was just warm and disgusting. After this, I ordered a salad (I forgot what it was called), but it wasn't the type of salad I was looking for. I guess it was my fault since I hadn't read what was in it, but since I love salad, I figured it'd be light and refreshing. All of that food just pushed my stomach to its limit. I really had to go to the bathroom because I felt like throwing up all the disgustingness. I didn't end up throwing up. After taking a few breaths away from the table and relaxing, I felt fine. However, when I returned to the table, I couldn't stand the look of the leftovers and I felt nauseated again. Sigh... having to relive this dining experience in my mind while writing this review is making me feel nauseated all over again.

Oh my goodness, I want to tell you all about this really terrific Chicago/Italian restaurant that has awesome food and a great beer selection! You are going to love it!
Regrettably, I can't think of the name of the place, so I'll tell you about the Uno at the South Street Seaport instead.
Do you like fried food? If so, this place is totally your teenage dream! I would say most of the appetizers are fried in some way. That's greasy deliciousness, people. I had fried cheese sticks....as you can probably tell, I'm a health nut so I got my dairy in for the day! My friend had the quesadilla...that was grilled and crispy.
Do you like classy beers? Because they had Heineken on the menu! Not only that, but also Sam Adams. So if you want to try something more upscale than your usual Bud Light Lime, you're all set.
All sarcasm aside, it's an Uno's, so you know what you're getting. Service was nice, the place was clean. Unless you want to start crying, don't read the calorie/fat contents of their food. -

Long Beach, NY
Came here after a long day of celebrating my 3 year old son's birthday in the area and honestly wasn't expecting much (read: typical franchise) - it was actually a pleasant experience.
We requested outdoor seating even though the area was quite loud, and the waiter actually directed us to more quiet outdoor seating with a better view.
The 3 stars:
avocado egg rolls - like really good guacamole with a zing wrapped in crunchiness - not bad at all.
lobster and shrimp scampi* - the sauce was a little too thick for my taste, but it had plenty of shrimp and flavorful chunks of lobster.
grilled shrimp and sirloin* - the shrimp was a little salty, but the sirloin was tender, enjoyed by the hubby.
shrimp, salmon and haddock combo - salmon was not overcooked or too lemon-y, the bro was too hungry to share the rest
kid's thin crust pizza - this was blah and not recommended. "It's a kid's pizza," the hubby had to keep reminding me, but I've had better (and cheaper) frozen pizza for my kids when it comes out of my oven at home.
The extra star:
Ambience completes any dining experience and the beautiful view of the water and Brooklyn was so calming and relaxing on that unseasonably warm night.
Props also goes out to the server who brought out a big bowl of ice cream so we could sing "Happy Birthday" to my excited son, even though I mentioned it to him when the place was closing. [NOTE: they don't do candles anymore.]
So even if you're not big on franchises like me, give this one a try with the family or your significant other on a warm summer night; even just for small bites and drinks to start or end your night, go for patio seating upstairs, take advantage of the view and amp up your enjoyment factor.

ASTORIA, NY
Average to below average food and, in our experience, abominable service. We stopped in because we were on the pier for Cinco de Mayo and were starving.
Waited over an hour and 20 minutes for a pizza. The table next to us was seated 10 minutes after our arrival, enjoyed an appetizer and dinner, paid their check and left before we were served our ONE pizza.
30 minutes in- the waiter told us it was going to be "just another 5 minutes" then avoided our table (spineless- can't stand that). Another 25 minutes later the manager apologized and told us "4 minutes tops" and also disappeared. Half an hour later it arrived and honestly wasn't worth a fifteen minute wait. Instead of any apology, we got a "took long enough, right?" and a stupid grin from the waiter. Ass.
Wasn't busy, so I can only chalk it up to incompetence. Not worth it. In a city like New York with so many excellent alternatives, why even bother with that kind of crap for sub-par food. Please- if it wasn't for tourists and poor decision makers like me, this place would be out of business in a year. Never in my life have I walked out and not left a tip. I have now, and no qualms about it.
Get your sh*t together or vacate this primo spot so a good restaurant can rent it out... -

Brooklyn Heights view from the patio upstairs.
Awesome chicken wings.
Delicious, cheesy pizza.
Mouth-Watering calamari.
Did I mention the amazing view from the upstairs patio?
Best time to go here is in the spring/summer. Birds won't bother you, so don't be shy!
Food never disappointed me here. And if you're feeling health conscious, just walk it off after! You have the Brooklyn bridge, and the entire pier! The service here is great, food has never disappointed me, and will definitely fullfil all tastebuds. Drinks are delicious too!
One of my favorite UNOs locations. -
Review from Shaina B.
Another typical chain restaurant....
They have different types of pizzas which are great because you really can't find deep dishes around, unless you are in Chicago! The food was descent, not the greatest, but descent.
The pro was being able to sit at Uno's outside and look at the city lights at night! I thought that was super romantic and fun :-)
The con was that when I went out with my boyfriend and friends, my friend got her meal and they didn't tell her it would be burning hot. (They usually notify you to not touch a plate or whatever). She went to touch the plate and burnt herself. The manager and wait staff really did not see it as a big deal until my boyfriend made a huge stink about it. I mean he honestly should have because she had her finger in ice water half the time we were there.
When we received our receipt they weren't even courteous enough to not charge us because she was hurt but after an argumentation, they took it off our bill.
Customer service is so important and I cannot stand when a restaurant doesn't care what happens to customers.
The service is also very slow, so if you're ready to deal with that then go for it! -
Review from Anna V.
You know why people come here? Because they know what to expect. You get what you pay for. All my experiences in Uno have pretty much been the same. They're all a decent blur of food.
You have a craving for wings, for example, and you know there's Uno in the hood, so you don't break your neck trying to find another place, because you know that even if they won't be the best wings you've ever head, they will certainly satisfy the craving.
What is good about this location is that on a good sunny warm day you actually have a chance of sitting outside overlooking the Hudson, downtown and Brooklyn skylines. But it is a mere chance, because you may have to fight off the tourists (or at least wait for a really long time). -

ASTORIA, NY
Typical chain restaurant type of food, not bad, but you know what you're gonna get.
Traditional type of pizzas and pasta dishes. Wouldn't say that the food is excellent, but well it's decent. I prefer the shrimp and lobster pasta dishes, shrimp skewers are also good. For this kind of generic type of food I think the prices should be lower.
The location is nice by Seaport, I have been here a few times, sitting indoors as well as outdoors in the summer. Sitting outside is prefered, you get a great view anywhere you look, smashing on a hot sunny summer day with a glass of wine.
Service level varies a lot, one time we had a waiter who suddenly dissapeared and was not seen anywhere in the restaurant. We asked the manager what happend as the skewers we got were not cooked enough and we wanted new ones. She said she had no idea where he went. But she took care of the situation from there and gave us two skewers for free and a free beer also. I might come back here. -

I will say that I grew up eating at a different UNOS location, but this one takes the cake. The service is excellent, and the wait for the food is not very long. The environment and area is pretty good overall. Whats odd, I noticed that the portion sizes at this particular UNOS location, are larger than anywhere else. No complaints!
Only thing is, its very small compared to the other UNOS...Not the best location for large parties of folks. All in all, a good go to spot.
Try the baked chicken spinnocoli pasta dish, and their Granny Smith All American Apple Crisp! -

Not terrible.
Pizza is my number 1 favorite, so I am extremely hard to please.
Tasted like canned sauce and frozen meat (I got there numero uno, so supposedly thats their signature...). Crust was ok; but tasted like rolled out pillsbury....
Service was good. -

This is one of the few chains that I like.
Granted its not the real thing in regards to deep-dish but its a pretty good pizza. Get the everything pizza or pepperoni.
The best thing they serve there is the deep-dish brownie. It's a realy good dessert. MUST GET!
Service is hit or miss. Avoid the weekends. -

We have visited Uno a couple of times for lunch/after work parties with colleagues. Service is a little slow at this place. Food is decent, typical restaurant chain type food. Location is great, we prefer outdoor seating in the summer.

Fast delivery, delicious salad and pizza, served still piping hot after making its trek from the restaurant to my apartment on a very chilly night. Always enjoy food from Uno and this was my first time ordering from this location.

UNO's is one of my favorite-chain restaurants. It always makes you feel good to come here. They finally put calories on the menu so people aren't gorging themselves, and they can make healthier decisions. I love how it's by the water so I can look out on the water and check out the ships docked in the harbor.
I never have a problem with the service here. My only problem is that since it's at the seaport. It is always crowded here and there's usually a long wait. It's like hitting up a touristy spot in Times Square.
Other than that the deep dish pizzas are my favorite dish. The food is relatively cheap and thats the main point of hitting up these cheap chain restaurants anyway. You already know what your getting into. -

Was a really long wait this time, so service hasn't improved from my last review. But who cares?! The food was DAMN GOOD.
Had the Chicken Thumb Platter this time. Juicy and flavorful chicken, and their fries are utterly amazing. It's definitely large enough for two people to split, I don't even know how one person can devour a plate that big on their own.

Mediocre food with unimpressive service.
I heard good things about their clam chowder and decided to try this place out. Got there in a late afternoon, tried to order some chowder and was told by our server we could just grab a cup by the counter. We spent good 5 minutes looking around for the soup counter only to find out later from another server that it was already too late for the all you can drink deal. We told our server about it and he just shrugged. No biggie. We still ordered a cup anyway. It would have been alright if the chowder was good. Unfortunately it was not. I also tried the Lobster Scampi, Grill Steak and Shrimp and the BBQ Chicken Pizza. Food was standard fare and nothing stood out. Pretty much what you would expect from a chain restaurant.
The view of the harbor is nice but not enough to justify the poor service and mediocre food. Our server looked like he hasn't slept for a week and was having a major hangover. Don't feel like we get the quality of service we deserved. -

You know that dream people have where they show up to school with no pants or something?
I once was on a case and went here with my client for lunch and as i sat in the booth I heard RIIIIIPPP...Turns out I had ripped my suit pants at this unos and since I was on lunch, I actually had to go back to court with a huge hole in my pants and represent my client. I got a manager's card and followed up with him and he never returned my call. Beware of nails sticking out of the booths...I have contemplated filing a suit just because of what they put me though...avoid...Listed in: Reviews People Like to FUC…

Did you really just come to Uno's for the best pizza in New York?
Let me guess, best Italian pasta at Sbarro's? Sheesh....
This is what we normal people call a chain restaurant. You know exactly what to expect when ordering and especially being that it is located in a very touristy area you don't expect THAT much do you?
Don't expect to meet your dream stockbroker here or whatever type of person you lust. You can expect to meet a few people that will ask you to take a picture of them holding up menus or something.
The appetizers and pizza are tasty. Nothing I have ever had on the menu is worth typing about how bad it was, because honestly it was all pretty good. I have been going to Uno's for years and it has remained consistent whether it be in Brooklyn, NYC, etc.
The wait for a table outside on a nice day could take a while longer but it is worth it, the smell of water, and the great people watching on the dock. If you have no other place in mind for a casual type of date swing by here, you will have plenty to talk about and have fun making fun of others... in a good way of course :)
Oh, and dessert... get the brownie bowl... hot brownie and cool vanilla ice cream topped with fudge at room temp... mMmmMmm -

I'm from Chicago and decided for some reason to try this Pizzeria Uno's near the seaport. It had a spectacular view and it was a wonderfully warm day. I probably shouldn't have.
While the steak and shrimp combo I had was decent (I couldn't tell you why I just didn't order PIZZA) the service was just awful. Our waitress had a stick up her ass and was hardly seen whatsoever. The wait for our food was even more ridiculous. If I want the real deal i'll stick with Uno's at home. -

Taste/Service. The food is forgivable. The service is not. -
Review from Jando S.
Possibly the worst deep dish pizza I've eaten and calling it deep dish is a compliment this place hardly deserves. It's already hard enough looking for Chicago Style Pizza in NYC, but trust me when I say it won't be found here.
A sampling of their personal deep dish size left me in shambles. It literally tasted like a puffy piece of cardboard with some tomato paste. This was no better than frozen pizza at the supermarket, which I suspect might actually taste better.
The inflated prices are just a sign of the area, which can get overly touristy any time of the year. Most people who will eat here are mainly here for the view and because they probably don't know any better. Delivery is slow too, don't even bother with that. I'm holding out the small hope Chicago Deep Dish will be in NYC soon, just without the Uno's brand. -

Staten Island, NY
Absolute slow service and below quality food! I've been to other Pizzeria Ono's before but this one has got to be one of the worst in NYC! It's a piazza place so pizza shouldn't take 45-minutes to serve! While waiting our waiter was nowhere to be found to at least refill our drinks. To make matters worst the pizza was cold in the middle which makes me think I actually paid over $10 for a frozen 6" Tombstone pizza I would've gotten in the supermarket for 1/8 the price! I've been to this same establishment before with the same unsatisfying results. If it wasn't for the majority of my party insisting this place I would never have gone there!

I work right by here so me and my coworkers usually go here a lot!
I usually get the sirloin steak tips on the lunch menu but now they've been holdin back on the portions of meat and the bread sticks are horrible now!!!
Today (11/5/09), we got a new waitress.
Britney R.
WORST SERVICE EVER!!
The person who seated us gave us our drinks. She then came 2 mins after he had already taken our drinks. Only TWO times did she come to our table.. 1. to ask our orders and 2. to give us our check!!
She of course was going back and forth to the other people around us. One of my coworkers tried 3x to make contact with her so she could have ketchup and my other coworker wanted a refill. Both to which they didnt receive!! The bus boy came to our table to remove everything before we even got to see her for the second time!
Of course the other table that was filled with about 5 or 6 tourists had 2 ketchup bottles, grey poupon mustard, and she had to at least have gone to them 5x while we were waiting to get her attention.
This place isn't too bad. Just avoid the rush of tourists and get there at like 12 rather than 12:30.
Having been to this place so frequently, we've had our fair share of new hires and we always give them the benefit of the doubt that their new but this girl was just seriously the worst!!
BRITNEY R. (this was the name on the receipt).
She's medium build, probably 5'6 and has brownish blonde hair.
AVOID her at all cost!!!
Oh and I talked to the manager saying everything she did wrong! On top of that she received NO TIP from the group of 4 people that I went with! -

I'd like to preface this review by saying my boyfriend and I had not eaten since 10 AM; it was 5 PM by the time we arrived at Uno. When I'm starving, almost ANYTHING tastes good.
I was so hyped up by The Food Network watching shows about Chicago-Style deep dish. Well I'm assuming that I need to go to Chicago to experience that.
The staff at Uno was so disinterested in the customers, I was about to go behind the bar and make my OWN drink. The pizza came out and I expected it to be huge; I believe it was about 4-5 slices. Pizza itself was just ok.
If it wasn't for the fact that it was Labor Day Weekend, I probably would have left little to no tip to the unpleasant young blond bartender who waited on us (and I use 'waited', loosely). -

2.5 stars.
the extra 0.5 stars since there's a great view of the Brooklyn bridge, and circle line tours picks up right there at South street Seaport.
The S L O W service is the reason for my lack of enthusiasm. from the time we sat to the time we got to order, 30 minutes had passed, and to the time we got our food a loooong time had passed, as if they had to go out and milk the cows for the cheese for our pizzas.
the food however, was decent, typical Uno's fare.
the LOBSTER FLATBREAD PIZZA - was pretty tasty. seasonal for the summertime. they "say" its only for 1 person, but this is enough for 3 to share, with a small pizza.
the NUMERO UNO large pizza was tasty too - it's their combo meat pizza. deep dish. mm!
if you're at south street sea port, and have a lot of time to kill, as do most tourists (or aren't STARVING...) come here. but if you're starving, your stomach may start to hurt before you get your food. -

Brooklyn, NY
Uno's isn't my favorite chain to begin with, but this location is especially bad.
The food is predictable, the benefit of a chain is that temperature aside, the food is typically the same at each outlet. I ordered boneless wings as an appetizer, and the BBQ chicken flatbread pizza. I was a little disappointed in the boneless buffalo wings, which were crispy and well cooked, but dressed with only a with a paltry drizzle of sauce. The pizza was precisely what I was hoping for, though in a perfect world, it would have been crispier.
This also loses a point for the service. Though it was quiet, the service was a bit apathetic. But I may have been spoiled by some of the service I've had at other places recently.
While I only gave this two stars, I would recommend it for a cheap lunch at the seaport, since most other options there are overpriced or mall food. -

Jersey City, NJ
The service was terrible, we saw our waitress a total of 2 times during our meal. The table next to us didn't meet their waiter until about 15 minutes after they sat and didnt even get utensils under AFTER their food came (which was about 35 mins later), as far as us, our food was ok at best but we were hungry so it wasn't that bad. I don't see myself going there, it's a waste of a good view.

I like this pizza.
No, it's not gourmet, no it's not fancy. It's a standard chain restaurant with its standard service and expected food. I've always gotten good service, the deep dish pizza's what I expect and I enjoy it. Every once in a while you just want Uno's.. Nothing wrong with that!
I also enjoy the desserts, especially that cookie thing, it's like a giant chocolate chip cookie that comes in its pan, along with ice cream on top.
You can also be healthy and pick an apple from the reception as you walk in. Makes you feel better afterwards! -

Yes Yes It is a Chain, but still great place for Chicago style deep dish. I love the mash potatoes appetizer. You get a lot of cheese and potatoes flavor. If you ask them for some Tabasco, this makes the dish perfect. A little spice on your bacon, cheese cover potatoes pizza. The dough is just sooo buttery and fating. I order the appetizer and a pizza, I had enough for 2 meals with my gf. Worth a visit her since it is also near a mall and pier. Great views at night.

Don't come here. No service whatsoever. We had one problem after another. First, no utensils on the table, then we asked for Ketchup and that never came. Corn was so salty and drenched in butter, and the tuna was to extreme salty. Also the bill was wrong and we almost had to pay extra for something we didn't order. The service was so slow. I would not recommend this place.

This place was ridiculously bad. We went to celebrate my friends birthday party.
Pros:
- Amezing view.
Con:
- Rotten mint leaves in both mojitos ordered.
- my group asked for medium raw meats, they were all well done.
- the waitress did not divide our bill correctly.
- my other friend asked for a chicken salad, they brought her a reg salad, without chicken, and after we asked for the chicken, received the griilled chicken breast which we ended up paying extra for...
When in NYC don't bother going to his place. -

New York, NY
I had a blast this weekend since it was the first day of spring so I have a lot to write. I go here a lot since it is near my job but this time was probably the worst.
I went with my friend again. I guess this is our spot. We waited about 30 minutes to sit outdoors which was fine since the bar had space. When seated, we had to choose between the "burning hot no shade seat directly in the sun" seat or the "so much shade and no view of the water what is the point of sitting outdoors" seat. We chose burning hot sun (West Indian thing I guess).
After waiting 20 minutes for the waiter to come we ordered avocado dip for an appetizer. I ordered mix n match steak and shrimp skewers with tamarind cashew and wowza sauce while she got the mushroom flatbread. We ordered drinks also.
After it took another 20 minutes for the appetizer to come, we canceled the drinks and decided to get dessert somewhere else after. If they rushed we wouldn't of had the chance to cancel. Their lose. We also had to wait about 10 minutes for water with lemon. When the appetizer plates arrived (without the actual appetizer) they were VERY DIRTY. After finally getting clean dishes and water the appetizer came and was really good minus there only being 10 tortilla chips, literally.
My meal was fine. The steak was a little tough so I doubt it was medium like I asked. My side of potatoes was great. The rice pilaf was nothing to call home about. My friend's meal was a waste. $12 for bread, cheese and overcooked mushrooms we could have made at home. To make matters worse, we had to stalk to waiter for our check. He then sent another waiter to give us the check while we saw him chatting it up with the female bartender.
I can say for once in my life that I left with my head held high after not giving any tip at all. -

The view is beautiful, burgers are excellent but costumer service could improve.
While I was enjoying a hot cup of tea my very hungry friend ordered a bacon burger with fries and absolutely loved it! It looked delicious! I'll be sure to bring my burger loving friends to Uno.
Service - maybe the waitress was having a bad day but we totally felt rushed from the get-go. -
Review from Jess K.
We ordered from here because I had mentioned Chicago-style pizza to my friend from Illinois and he wouldn't let it go after that. Turns out there is no real Chicago-style pizza in all of NYC. Someone remedy this please. So we ordered from Uno's because even if it wasn't delicious it would at least satisfy the craving for deep dish pizza. That is exactly what it did. I didn't like the toppings or the tomato chunks or really anything about the top of the pizzas but the crust was exactly what we required. I hope we don't order from here again and that his craving has been satisfied until he goes home for Christmas. But if we do order from here again it won't be the worst thing in the world. Bottom line: you are in NYC...go get some amazing NYC pizza. But if for some reason all you need is deep-dish, this place will do.

Went there on a sunny day for lunch and totally enjoyed their terrace. They had decent choice for the food and was overall good. The best was the view on the pier and the animations below.
