Lovely Victoria...pizza I dream of...please open one up in Santa Monica! I'm in real estate I can help you. The staff is really nice. This is the first restaurant I went to during my visit. I had a horrible time with customs. Someone had a bug up their *$%#. My first time crossing into Canadian borders. Thank you, Canada! However, the people of Victoria and this pizza place more than made up for it. The pizza is light, fresh, and perfect portions of sauce cheese and toppings. I sat at the bar and watched the pizza's being made. Try the Margherita and add prosciutto. Subtle and mild taste. Pepperoni and mushroom are good. Their red wine is decent. Their green salad is really fresh, farmers market greens, and simple almost to simple. Save room for the tiramisu, it's delicious.

I'm into any place that dedicates a spot on the menu to our mushroom brothers and sisters. Fungi pizza = good. Food came real fast, beer on tap. Looks like a good spot to bring a date, if you have a date. Otherwise I recommend dining in solitude and yelping about it.

Of the two locations of this restaurant in town, this is my favorite. Cook street gets too busy and is understaffed.
You can't go wrong with this pizza, it's some of the best thin crust I've ever had. Simple ingredients, fresh, hot out of the brick pizza oven, all around a great pizza place. The atmosphere is super welcoming and the decor is unique and modern.
I will be coming back time and time again for their top notch thin crust. -

I've been eyeing up Pizzeria Prima Strada for some time and finally had a chance to drop by for take out last night. First impressions, love the interior, lots of steel, wood benches, tables and chairs. There are stacks of wood around one edge for the wood grill fire. Inside It's 90% cozy and welcoming with 10% hip and modern. Their largest table seats at least a dozen people, great for group functions.
The staff was welcoming and helpful when I arrived. Our pizzas were ready in under 15 minutes and we were on our way for a (thankfully) very short drive home. This is definitely top 3 thin crust / traditional italian pizza meals that I've ever had (i've generally not been a big fan in the past). The ingredients were fresh and delicious, the flavours were spot on.
If you like traditional style pizza, Pizzeria Prima Strada is probably the best in town, I definitely recommend it. -

Great spot, just opened yesterday.
It is HUGE compared to the Cook Street location with great big tables, sheet metal lampshades, and a great mix of wood, concrete and steel throughout. Pretty neat place all in all... already thinking of it as a place to hold special events. There's stacks of firewood for the ovens around the walls.
The food is classic Prima Strada. Very good local and Italian ingredients, thin crust pizza, all the good stuff.
The interior isn't fully finished yet, so I'm putting down 4 stars... but I'm sure they'll get up to 5 soon. -

This joint is a member of Associazione Vera Pizza Napoletana and it shows. They are right on for pie, well worth the stop.

Came here for dinner with a large-ish group of my boyfriend's family (8 of us in total). We tried to go to the Cook St location initially, but it was packed. They offered to call their other location for us and have a table reserved so we'd be seated as soon as we got there, which I was impressed with.
What I was less impressed with was the atmosphere. It seems like they've made fairly good use of a renovated warehouse-type location, and are bringing some excitement to a pretty industrial area, but much of the interior is not thoughtful. The tables are long wood planks on sawhorses, which made for a wobbly dining experience. Smaller groups are seated together at the long tables, but we got one to ourselves. It was very difficult to converse with everyone because the acoustics suffer from the warehouse-ness of it all - could have used some artful touches like wall-hangings to improve the decor and remove some of the background noise. Also, *right* after we finished our meal, the waiter offered us a voucher for a free pizza next time if we'd rush it on out because they had another party waiting... While the bill had just been paid (and the tip as well!), a couple of us hadn't even finished our drinks, and some of the family was in from out of town. It would have been nice to have a few moments to sit, digest, finish up conversations, and say our goodbyes.
The food itself was pretty enjoyable - definitely not the best "authentic" Italian-style pizza I've ever had, but a good meal all in all. I would recommend ordering a whole pizza for yourself if you're at all hungry - my boyfriend's 5-year old cousin ate a whole one all on her own, minus crust :) I had the crudo e strado pizza which had tomatoes, arugula, mozzerella cheese, and best of all, prosciutto. Yum. I could be persuaded to try Prima Strada out again, but perhaps the other location, and with a much smaller group.
