So... I'm ill. Sinus infection and chest ickiness. The last thing I want to do is go out to get food. Luckily there are these wonderful pizza delivery services that will bring food right to my door! :)

I'm usually partial to Domino's - because I don't have to make decisions there, been ordering the same items for years. But yesterday I decided to mix things up a bit. I saw an advert from Pizza, Pizza offering a large pizza, chicken bites, and pop for $21 so decided to try it out. I ordered online where at the end of the ordering I learned that delivery was $3.50. ....... Now, I'm going to rant for a bit. It's not this company, it's all of them now that charge delivery fees PLUS expect you to tip. Sorry, but I don't think I should have to. I still do round the bill up but seriously... if the company isn't giving the driver the delivery fee than the driver should complain. I work in the food service industry and nobody pays my gas to and from work. And there is no mandated minimum tip. I've seen people walk out without leaving tips on $100 and $200 plus bills. It's a pisser but what can ya do. So... I feel that one or the other is appropriate to expect: customers pay a delivery fee or customers are expected to tip. Not both. Don't guilt me by notating on the bill that delivery charge does not go to driver and that I should still tip! Screw you, Boss! Pay your drivers better with all those fees you get or don't charge em! ..... OOOooooookay..... I think I'm done. Thanks for humouring me. :)

Back to the experience of yesterday.

So I also noticed (besides the delivery fee and blasted HST) that Pizza, Pizza promised to have my order to my door within 40 min or it would be free. Awesome. And they did get it to me with 5 minutes to spare... almost. So the delivery guy took my money then handed me my pop and pizza and then said "oh, you ordered chicken bites too". I said "yes, I did" and he said, "give me 5 minutes, I forgot them but I will be right back". I said, "no problem". Almost 30 minutes he's back. Now I don't expect my order to be free but I'm thinking he'll bring a coupon for $5 off next order or an extra can of pop or something. Nope. Okay, I accept. I open the box of chicken bites to find them cold. Not refrigerator cold, but sitting out for an hour cold. Now I was seriously unimpressed. And thanks to Yelp, I can tell the world! :)

    Food: 3 stars, no complaints
    Service: 1 star, no compliments
