I started my cooking career here, so it has a special place for me. And great pizza. Their crust is nice and chewy with sufficient amount of toppings. I have tried all the pizza shops that delivers, Pizza Garden is hands down is the best for the price. You are buying a 16-18 inch delicious pie for $20. Dough and the sauce is made in the store, baked fresh, delivered hot. My favourite pizza is capicolla with extra cheese. As a matter of fact the only one I order.
Now when it comes to their slices, sometimes you might come across to some older slices in the slow hours of the day, but simply just avoid them. Look for the shinier, greasy look.
By the way megabite and pizza garden is owned by the same person. don't know why they have different quality?Listed in: My top Vancity Eatries

While Megabite, Uncle Fatih's and Urban Grain have been slugging it out for your pizza pennies up the street, Pizza Garden has been quietly serving up sumptuous slices o' pizza-pie on the north side of Commercial Drive for some time now.
Open late, they never skimp on their quality toppings which are almost always served hot since they sell so many slices. Nothing turns me off more than a slice that has been sitting under a hot-lamp for like 3 hours. No thanks.
My only quibble is that the staff could do a better job keeping the place tidy and mess-free. Kind of off-putting but no problem if you are eating on the go. Recommended. -

I really like the pepperoni pizza here. This take out restaurant has recently renovated and there are only 2 seats. Be prepared to eat your slices elsewhere. Maybe even in the pouring rain.
As to why I like the pepperoni pizza, the crust is crispy yet chewy at the same time. They use a special flour. The sauce is just right, as in, not too bland, not too acidic. It comes with lots of pepperoni and there is a shake of melted parmesan on top. All of this for only $2 tax included. Did I mention the slices are huge? Don't ever change, Pizza Garden. -

I am from Chicago. I've had pizza at two places, and this was light years better than the first place.
It's very good, mostly due to the crust. -

Pizza Garden WAS a good pizza place.
Now it's like megabite.

This is my favourite ghetto slice in the city. Better than Fatih, Megabite (weird because it's in the megabite family), and I haven't been to Uno in a very long time.
Get the pesto-garlic-tomato (full roasted cloves), the artichoke & kalamata olive (not those boring black discs), or the one with whole button mushrooms.
Just be careful about going between busy times, no one likes a slice that's been sitting under a lamp for two hours. -

What isn't to like about this place? The price, the taste, the selection. I tried the pesto chicken (or is it the chicken pesto?) the other day. It was delish. I read another review and I, too, am impressed by the xl pizza for 14 bucks. What the #$^#. Who sells an xl pizza for 14 bucks? That's the custom pizza. The selection of pizzas on the warmer ($2 per? Sorry I can't be more accurate with the pricing. I get a little loopy when I eat there.) are incredible, not simply because they full of flavour, but because they are fresh. There's so much traffic that there's never a stale wedge.
By comparison, a friend treated me to a high priced competitor (no naming names here), but it's wasn't a "treat." Never thought I have to choke down a pizza to be polite ;-).
If you haven't tried Pizza Garden, do yourself a favour. Oh, and don't forget to drizzle on the blue cheese sauce . . . Excuse me, I have to be alone now.

I ordered a large pizza for pick up because they had advertised that they have a fire oven but their pizza crust was like cardboard. I won't be coming back.

Pizza Garden is my weakness. There's always new pizzas coming out of the oven and because they're so busy, the pizzas don't sit in the case for very long. My favourites are classic Hawaiian or Cappicola. You can get a x-large pizza, 8 big slices for $14. Mix and match if you want too. Great deal. They're open late too - I think they were even open on New Years Day.

As far as your late night, stumble-in-after-drinking pizza by the slice goes, it doesn't get much better than Pizza Garden. I've introduced it to friends who now trek over to The Drive just to satisfy their craving! If I have my choice, I prefer authentic thin crust Italian-style pizza which this is not. But in the category of Ghetto Pizza (MegaBites, Uncle Faith, and Fresh Slice) this is the best. My all-time favorite is the cappicolo slice lightly drizzled with blue cheese dressing.

Arguably the best $2 pizza on Commercial drive. Enjoys one of the highest frequency rates of customers, leading to what everyone knows is the most important factor: the freshness. The hot pepper jar and ranch dressing container are always full, and they even put sesame seeds on the crusts, which is like putting cuff links on a Hawaiian shirt. It's the East Vancouver solution to last minute hungriness.
