For the area with all the hustle and bustle and laundry list of possible eateries, Pita Pit is a great stop.

The staff was real helpful in suggesting a combination for a newby to Pita Pit.  My only negative is that it is a nanosecond walk from my hotel and I can see me there a lot during my stay in Halifax.

Delicious.  Oh they are open late 3 or 4 am late.

This coupon appeared in my mailbox today, although excited, it had been a long time (maybe even years) since our last affair. I was unsure but excited. Hungry but too hungry to fully feel satisfied? What the hell I gave it a go...

WHAT??? CUBED TURKEY? What happened to the awesome thin slices of turkey, that cozied in with the ham and those crisp strips of bacon that fit so nicely...so every bite had a little bit of everything? Why do good places have to go canned, cubed or not so natural?

I think I caught the woman on a bad day. She was short and not to personable.

Big pet peeve with any place is too much of something, subway is guilty of too much mayo and mustard, and NO I don't need a whole 5 shakes of S&P...Today's pita had about a  handful too much of peppers and onion, there was no stopping her --- I  guess she wanted to make sure I got the recommended amount of veggies one needs in a day!! :D

ASIDE from all of this, Pita pit does have some awesome options. Healthy (and not so healthy) choices. And its quick and simple. So give it a go, especially if you liked cubed turkey.

OK, this is a completely bias review.  Since Tony is my neighbour I visit his place at least once a week for a pita.  I LOVE the healthy selection and variety of pitas (and sauces).  Not many places downtown where you can get a healthy meal made in 2 minutes.  Veggies are always fresh and delicious.
The place is kept very clean, and the staff always serve me with a smile.  Prices are reasonable.  Drink selection limited, but at least he doesn't serve fountain soda (you would be AMAZED on how many of those self-serve machines have mold inside them!).

Pita Pit is a great healthy alternative to coffee house baked goods and the regular fare of nachos/burgers that can be found at some of the locations surrounding Pita Pit, Argyle Street.

I personally recommend a whole wheat wrap with chicken, tzatziki and your fill of veggies. I used to rely heavily on Pita Pit in my university residence days because they accept dal card and because it was sometimes the only only serving of *edible* vegetables available to me.

I gave Pita Pit a try more than a few times during my stint in the downtown retail bizz. My place of work was just a skip away, so it made sense to see what this place had to offer.

There are lots of healthy options for the sandwich sort at reasonable prices-  and some rich 'n saucy picks as well. While my veggie pitas were always good, they were never great. Perhaps I just hadn't perfected the right veggie + sauce collaboration, but I found there always to be a little too much iceburg lettuce and not enough sauce. And extensive foldings of pita. If I'm going to go out to buy a wrap, I want it to be delicious...

The veggie option wasn't always the best and it might've been nice to have something else beside iceberg lettuce. But maybe the meat subs are to die for... I wouldn't know. The space isn't so dine-worthy, but there are a few high stool chairs at the front window that are ok.

All in all, I find this to be an ok spot, but I've found other places to better quench a craving.

    Think healthy fast food.

I'll make you a deal. If you can prove to me that eating regular fast food at two thousand calories a meal for eight dollars make sense when you can get a Pita that tastes great, can fill you up and actually makes you healthier, I will throw my healthy living practices out the window.

The Pita Pit is healthy eating at great prices! I love the chicken Caesar and Philly Steak myself. Both are very filling and taste great! But I do have one suggestion, not just for the Pita Pit, but for all healthy, fast food stores. And that tip is, hear me out, start emitting smells similar to unhealthy fast food stores or something. I never pop into Pita Pit with the intention to. I always get hungry right around the time I walk past Pita Pit. Which is lucky for Pita Pit. Because if I was walking past a famous fast food restaurant, I am the type who is attracted to smells and would head in the unhealthy direction because they purposely send the smells out there to attract customers.

Just wanted to send you that tip. But back to the store. The staff are nice but a little below average. They aren't the happiest campers I've seen and I have seen staff work faster before. But the service doesn't deter me from going in.

I also like their salads but I tend to be the sort of guy who see's lettuce in his Pita and asks, "why would I get a salad to? There is a salad in my Pita." At the end of the day, the Pita's are great and the staff are alright. The pricing is similar to a fast food restaurant so you are not going to break the bank by being healthy. So give your stomach a break and put some good food in it.

Whenever I find myself on this end of Argyle Street around meal time, I'm faced with a tough Subway vs. Pita Pit conundrum. In the end my decision comes down to two factors; how busy they are and how hungry I am.

Pita Pit is typically the less busy of the two, It's been rare that I've had to wait for more than one or two people to order. The staff are always really friendly and talented in the art of sandwich preparation.

Admittedly though whenever hunger is really getting the best of me I usually pick Subway. While Pita Pit can provide a good and filling meal on a typical day, it's not the place to hit if you are looking for a snack after a night out or during a long day of sight seeing.

In the summer this is a great place to check out for a lunch, with the store front windows pulled open and that waterfront breeze rolling in.

Hot Hint: Pita Pit takes Dal cards so it's pretty convenient to pick up a Greek pita during the intermission of a Neptune show.

Admittedly, the first time my husband suggested having a bite here, I looked at him as if he had two heads. After all we're on Argyle where there are lots of cool and trendy restaurants and come on...what kind of name is Pita Pit anyway. The connotations are less than appealing.

But, hey...what's a girl to do but follow and check it out..he was raving about it. And in the summer,it's one of his favorite cheap lunch spots.
First of all, I have to say, from a cleanliness perspective alone, this is the only fast food place I'd ever want to see the kitchen. It's spotless, open for all to see - I dare you to find a speck of grease or mess.

Not only is it clean, it's healthful pita pockets filled with whatever makes you happy from vegetarian to carnivore - you'll be thrilled. The menu is extensive. Now I don't turn my nose up...now I'm the one suggesting a trip there.

It was a nice day for walking downtown. Along our journey we stopped at Pita Pit on Argyle St.

I have to give this spot a strong four star so close to a five. It has a great decor, the have these fantastic pictures over the wall, each topping had a picture and name to it. I liked the one named Gabi and the one called Coolie. We ordered the Chicken Breast Pita.

They use real chicken, heat it on the grill and then you add an assortment of toppings, lettuce, tomato, olives, green pepper, red onions, cheese, we choose to put feta on ours.

I asked the lady to cut it in half for us, she was nice, her name was Claire, she was the actually owner. We had a little chat, she said she has been there for three years now.

We sat along the front so we could people watch, always an extra bonus when downtown. I have to agree with Ruth when she comments on the cleanliness.

This is a healthy great spot to go .

I'm pretty sure I've only ever been to the Pita Pit post midnight. It's never crossed my mind as a place to dine during daylight hours, and I suppose that's just fine by me.

A veggie pita can take a lot to be exciting. When you don't consume meat, you're often left out to dry at these types of establishments. I think Pita Pit sits somewhere in the middle of this great divide. Their ingredients aren't high quality, and you notice that especially well when you're noshing purely on vegetables wrapped in pita bread.

However, you can throw some cheese in there with tons of sauces, plus pickles and hot peppers, and then we're talking. It's still not super exciting, but it can be satisfying. They put a lot of stuff in the pitas, which I appreciate and you get to do the picking, which is a bonus.

The prices are decent, at least for a pita sans meat. The people working (notably night time employees), have been pretty good in the past. Moving quickly and cracking some jokes while they work!

All in all, it's an A-Okay place to grab a quick sammie if you're peckish and you've got a pita on the mind.
