This place was great, but now it's closed down :(

The sales girl was pretty friendly, and struck up conversation with us when my friend and I walked in. I've been to Pink Sugar before and have tried their cupcakes. The cakes are pretty good; not too sweet- which makes indulging in the frosting a little bit more justified.
It was a little disappointing for us today because they had run out of 7 flavours of their cupcakes (& their man-cakes- which was a s'mores cupcake!!!) by the time we got there (which was around 3pm?). Go earlier if you want to pick your favourite flavours! -

I'm not sure why people keep insisting this is a vegan bakery when they are not advertised as one. And certainly their website does not indicate they are. That being said, the vast majority of their cupcakes are vegan.
I had the Sin-O-Mint for my bday and it was yummy. The counterperson was very sweet and helpful. There was a nice selection for the day though I came late and not much leftover.
I did deduct a star for the "Mancakes". Not because they are not vegan but because I find it sad that people are catering to men who are too cowardly to admit they like cupcakes. And further they are defining this wussiness as manly. Seems a bit backwards to me. -

The only positive thing I have to say about this place is their cupcakes look pretty.
As soon as I walked in the store there was attitude. I commented on the hail coming down outside, and the girl behind the counter looked at me and didn't even respond. Not once did she smile or come off friendly when I was in the store.
As for the cupcake, I was expecting a lot more. I asked if the frosting was buttercream (and she said yes), so I'm little surprised to now learn that it is in fact a Vegan shop. In any case, the frosting tasted exactly like butter (even though I got a red velvet cupcake with cream cheese frosting). Plain butter does not taste good. I don't think there was a lick of sugar in the frosting, it was disgusting, I had to wipe it off to eat the rest of my cupcake. The cake portion of the cupcake was okay, which is why I'm giving this place 2 stars instead of 1 star.
I won't be coming back to this place. It wasn't worth the money or the calories I consumed. -

Bought a cake there yesterday for my wife's office. The cake I received looked like a 6 year old decorated it, plus they spelled "goodbye" wrong. For a $60 cake I would have expected more effort and something a bit more tasty. I'll never go there again.

Pink Sugar Cupcakery is the kind of business I can get behind. They're vegan cupcakes and they really could be held up to anything we have here in Seattle in terms of moisty deliciousness.
I love it. Sweet, sweet cupcakes of love.
I can't wait to go back, either. -

Can I write an update just to let you know the flavours I've tried?
Today for example I walked in and to my delight they had a cupcake composed of vanilla cake with lavender and lemon zest frosting. Oh my jesus! I seriously think they are able to tap into my taste buds and figure out exactly what would tantalize my soul.
I grabbed the chocolate peanut butter for the boy and it was equally as a dreamy.
This is getting kinda dangerous having Pink Sugar so close by. I may have to move before things get outta control.Listed in: Pretty in the City

I thought this place was alright!
Their sin-o-mint was gewd! It's simple. There wasn't a wow factor for me. I've had better in Seattle. But i will give to them that their frosting was nice and light! that's something i really enjoyed. their actual cake tasted like i've gotten it store bought.
the people in there are nice. it's a little farther down from the ferries, but well worth a visit if you're there to vacation. But the inside is very victoria bc about it. hahaha -

I hope the owner reads this:
As the owner, you have wonderful delicious cupcakes and a great smile with good attitude towards me, BUT a few months ago I stopped coming by because the staff wasn't pleasant ( like twice..I just gave up). Also, I had been trying this gluten free experiment and for a long time had thought everything in the store was gluten free since I read a sign outside saying gluten free and vegan. I told everybody the cupcakes were gluten free and vegan. Now, the last day I was there I saw gluten free cupcakes sitting on a small stand in only a few flavors, and I was in shock! The gluten free cupcake stand I either had not seen before or had not been there before! Maybe some one with Celiac Disease would ask twice, but what if they don't!? I've had celiacs ask me for a chocolate malt. I always tell people malt contains wheat, are you okay with that? Then sometimes they are like, oh, I can't have gluten.
Verdict: get some happier staff! Put up a warning that the cupcakes are not gluten free!
Then, when I see change, I'll be back and so will my friends. -

I have intolerances to eggs and dairy, so I was excited to hear about a place that had vegan cupcakes, and I was not disappointed!
I originally was going to buy a few but there were so many flavours I wanted to try, that I ended up buying 6. My friend also bought 6 and we split a few last night and today so we could try more flavors.
I absolutely LOVED the Lemon Drop one!! They also had a Valentine's special called Love Muffin (?), a chocolate cupcake with some cayenne pepper in the icing - delicious! The Red Velvet wasn't my fave, but Peanut butter chocolate was good and Sin-a-mint was alright. Pink sugar, a cupcake in both chocolate and vanilla cake with strawberry icing, was delicious as well (I tried the chocolate one). I still have Coconut Cream , Elvis and Banana Split left to try and am looking forward to it! I would also like to try some of the "manly" flavours, like the Mackenator. They had Irish Car Bomb cupcakes with Bailey's in the icing (not vegan due to dairy) as a special.
I love this place and wish they had a location in the Vancouver area. Will go back again for sure!! -

Saw it as I came out of Russell Books and decided to give it a try. Pink Sugar is a lot like Cupcakes in Vancouver and the cupcakes here are just as good.
Had only the Elvis which was a banana cake muffin with a peanut butter frosting on top. There was lots of delicious frosting on top (a bit much for me but probably spot on for cupcake lovers) and the cake was moist and tender and not overly sweet. Very good stuff and a business worth supporting. -

$3 per cupcake
boring flavors, but 2 of note:
-chocolate orange
-coconut lavender
I liked the chocolate orange. It wasn't exotic or anything, but it was exactly what I expected. I enjoyed it. The coconut lavender was interesting, but I actually did not taste too much lavender. They could've amped up the flavor. The icing was hard and not creamy at all. The cake was pretty moist. This place is pretty much as standard as standard can be. -

I'm not a lover of cupcakes, but these cupcakes are AMAZING. Fluffy, flavourful cake topped with mountains of fluffy buttercream. And all vegan! Whether you like cupcakes or not, are vegan or not, do yourself a favour and stop in here, you won't regret it!
Anything chocolate is a good bet. As is anything citrusy. Hell, I've yet to be in any way disappointed. -

Amazing!!!! What a great way to treat yourself and make you feel all warm and gooey inside. :) I met the owner and we talked about cupcakes in Seattle (Where I'm from) and she was extremely familiar with what Seattle has to offer in the cupcake market. She is super passionate and loves what she does. Make sure you stop in at Pink Sugar Cupcakery!!
