I love being able to go to a walk in doctor for free in expensive Vancouver. Everyone here is so friendly and helpful, they do not hold anything you say against you. The receptionist is so lovely and willing to help. You do need to be under 24 and it can be really busy on Friday nights, I'd recommend going Thursday if possible or very early during the day

@Marc K. love your comment about @susanne J. Someone need to put that woman in her place! Complaining about a FREE clinic that is there to help people!
This place is awesome! The nicest doctors and nurses! I have been here dozens of times when i was under 25 and dont have a bad thing to say about them! :) Get there early tho! -

Coming from the US, this place truely offers free healthcare, no strings attached.
Before I could get proper healthcare coverage, I went here for my medical needs. The staff is really friendly and unbiased and very professional. -

Pine Free clinic is great to know about if you're new to town or still are trying to find a doctor. You do have to be 25 or under, I think, but there are select times (weekday mornings?) when any member of the public can access services.
A few days after I moved to Vancouver I came down with the symptoms of malaria. Aches, sweats, pains, fevers, fainting, hallucinations -- it wasn't pretty. And since I had been recently traipsing through the jungles of South America, it was completely plausible I had the mosquito-born parasite. After much confusion, I made it to Pine Free Clinic and received great assistance.
More recently, I had a swollen eye as the result of, I think, a spider bite. (What's with me and insects anyway?) Again, Pine Free Clinic helped me promptly.
It works on a first-come first-served basis. I've never had to wait longer than 30 minutes, which is amazing. I've waited longer for a doctor with whom I've actually booked an appointment.
The staff members here are delightful, discreet, and cheerful. If you're in Vancouver -- medical coverage or no -- and need assistance, this is a great resource to know about. Five stars without question! -

This is absolutely a great place to go. I even have full on Canadian Health care and the Khatsilano clinic is closer to my house, but man, I'd rather go here.
The fact that this place is a free clinic reflects in no way on the quality if the doctors. In fact, i feel almost like these doctors try harder because they are more in the public service. I have yet to really find a doctor in Vancouver I like going to and these guys have always done a good job with me. From helping small things to diagnosing the start of my appendicitis, they do a great job.
If you're in from out of town or are too young and between things to have proper health care (I've been there) head down here. They can deal with more than just the sex and drugs you expect from a free clinic. -

I guess if I actually got in to see someone I'd be super thankful too. I went by one day and checked the hours - if you're over 24 and have no care card you have to show up between 9am and noon Monday to Thursday. So I came back one day and was sent away because they were full, then I came back another day and they were full again. How many times am I supposed to take rejection like that? Fortunately, I found out my Ontario health card will be taken anywhere, so stick that up your bum Pine Free, and really, if you're seriously that popular maybe you should consider opening up those hours a little...or giving an out-of-province girl a little head's up...I mean try and be helpful...don't just shoo me out the door 'cause you wanna take your lunch break.
