Any place that puts home-smoked meat into a drink wins in my book! I was delighted to find out that the Caesars made here come with meat. It looks a bit gross, but it tastes so right.
Piggy's is a fun, beachside BBQ joint doing real, slow-cooked, Southern-style Bar-b-q. I had the beef brisket and it was amazing. The cornbread with honey butter was some of the best I've tasted, and I love cornbread. I cried a single tear when they'd already run out of collard greens, but I went for the chipotle coleslaw and all was forgiven.
We were there with a vegetarian, and the owner/server was very up-front about the meatiness of all the menu offerings. She didn't try to hide any of the animal products and let my veggie friend know that the salad was really the only animal-free dish they offered. But she said my no-meat friend could bring in food from another place and eat with us carnivores! Not many restaurants would encourage that practice, so I was pretty impressed.
Not much can top gorging on meat at a picnic table with a view of the lake. It was a great experience!
It's now closed for the 2009 summer, but look for them -- they'll be back for 2010 and meatier than ever!!Listed in: Wineries in OK…

Piggy's did not reopen in 2009 - owner moved to Costa Rica, I heard. Union Jack's is there now.
