I realize you may be wondering why on earth I'm writing about a lobster carnival. So pay attention.... every coastal area of Nova Scotia has a lobster festival and you'll definitely find lobster dinners and lobster races etc.. I've been to more than a few since we moved to Nova Scotia a few years ago. Typically they celebrate the end of lobster season for the region.
And there are none better than this one. So good we come back every year. It's always the first weekend in July after July 1st holiday and it's delightful, fun for every kids of every age. Lots of contests for little ones, bedstead races to raise funds for charities, parades, pageant, antique autos, lobster men competitions and, of course, my favorite part - the traditional lobster dinners - $20 gets you a lobster, coleslaw and potato salad, a drink and some homemade pie for dessert.
Best day you'll ever spend.
