Alright, it looks like the old school servers here have returned and the service is fast and furious again!!!
Seated, order taken, order delivered, food consumed and paid in under 20 minutes!
The pho is still my favourite in town and I don't stray from it to try the other items on the menu. If I'm mobile and want pho this is always my first choice in town.Listed in: 2012: 366 Day Challenge, Ottawa: Cheap Eats, Ottawa: Best Eats

A friend brought me here a couple of months ago and I can't stop myself from coming back. The food is fresh and tasty and the pho broth is flavorful. Pho Thu Do has displaced my other regular Vietnamese spots.
Free parking on Spruce St (north of Somerset off of Booth). Be sure to leave me a spot though! -

My family and I were looking to at Thu Do, but apparently the restaurant has moved! The old space between New Pho Bo Ga La has new owners, and the Thu Do restaurant is about 20 metres down the hill. The sign now reads "Pho Thu Do Restaurant", and the old space has signs posted in the window and on the door, redirecting you to the new place. 20 metres isn't very far, so don't be lazy and just walk the extra 2 minutes down the hill to the new location.
I'm sad to say, we were all very disappointed. We were seated right away, but not given a menu for about five minutes. Generally, this wouldn't be THAT long, but that's much longer than we're used to waiting just for the menus, especially at Thu DO. In their defense, they were really busy, with every table occupied. I confirmed with the owner that this is, for sure, the new location, and he said the old building was old and small. The Vietnamese spring rolls were great - authentically flavorful and crispy, and taste of the pho was there, but the heat was not. The soup and tea were cold, and the service was slow, but now that I think about it, it's only been two days since the new location opened up, so maybe they're just adjusting to having so many more customers.Listed in: Glutton, International Flavour

Excellent broth, not too salty. Lightning-fast service.

Delicious. Probably the best and most reasonably priced pho place in Ottawa.

I have to say one of the best Pho places I have been to in Ottawa. Service is not the best but its fast.. Beware.. no credit card and I don't remember them accepting bank cards.. I always bring cash.
Usually 5-10 minutes from sitting down to receiving your pho. Normally, from entering to leaving its about 30-45 minutes.
The decor could use a little touch up.
In the summer they usually serve ice tea (really plain tea with ice cubes) while in the winter or colder months its regular tea.
I also like the spring rolls. They don't seem to be the same bland ones that you see at other places. -

Loved this place! The pho broth was extremely tasty and the meat was very tender and cut into bit sized chunks. The service was fast but not particularly polished. That said, I don't expect much in terms of service when I go out for pho.
The quality of the pho at Pho Thu Do is excellent and much better than the neighboring New Pho Bo Go La, in my humble opinion. -

Good tasting broth and speedy service. Might be a little too speedy as they work with lineups and turnover during peak times. I like their deep fried spring rolls too here. What's good about the Pho here? Huge portion sizes, thinly sliced beef and what makes Ottawa pho much better than most Toronto Pho is that they include that vietnamese cliantro stuff-sawleaf is what I think it's called.
