Excellent service. Best pho, and Vietnamese food selection in general, that I've ever had. I would go here over any where in the area.

The bad news is that the interior is a little dingy, the menus are old and crusty (literally. Mine was full of crumbs of some kind). They could use some new furniture and the walls would definitely benefit from some fresh paint.
I had the house special pho, the one with all the stuff in it (beef, meatballs, tendon and tripe - I eat it all). I found the broth a little bland but not terrible.
The good news is that my soup was loaded with stuff, more meat and noodles and extras than most pho places. And at a good price: two large soups came to $17.50 incl tax and a generous tip. The staff was very happy and friendly and we got pretty good service, even though there were lots of other tables with customers.
Don't forget it's cash only. If they don't bring your bill just go up and pay at the counter. -

By sheer chance I ended up at this Pho joint while meeting my friend for dinner. Simple wrong turns (being new to Van city) and two pho places side by side added to the confusion. Either way we were both happy we accidentally stumbled on this place in the end.
He had the Pho Bun, I had a wonton soup and we both enjoyed some specialty drinks: me fresh squeezed OJ and he iced vietnamese coffee. Both meals were awesome but the drinks were phenominal. Great prices & service as well.
I have found my pho place in Vancouver. And it is this joint. -

A great little spot I like to go with my friends. It's convenient to get to, since it's right on Kingsway, and just off of Main.
I was a little apprehensive about going in at first, because all of those little restaurants on Kingsway kind of look sketchy. The inside was clean, and to my surprise, filled with a lot of customers of all ethnicities.
I love their vermicelli and spring roll dish, and I heard their Pho is great too.
The service is great, and every time I go in with my friends, we're always served by the owner. She's really nice, and her one daughter is really kind.
This place just makes me feel all warm and happy inside. -

Disappointed! I'd read some great reviews for this place, but the disappointment I felt walking out of there was gut-wrenching. It's not like it was particularly bad, but it just wasn't what I was expecting.
The lady serving was friendly enough, but was rushed off her feet. She completely forgot my boyfriend's drink, and just as we were finishing the meal, she ran over and put it on the table, with apologies. We'd reminded her once already about the forgotten drink, was hoping it might get knocked off the bill, but nope. Guh. The food took ages to come, and most of the people in the place had their eyes glued to the tv, which was showing WWE ;)
I ordered grilled lemon chicken with an egg on 'broken' rice (does anyone know what that means?). It was exactly what it said it was. I really could have done with a sauce with it, seemed kinda dry, but that is what I ordered, so fair dos. The chicken was very tasty I will say! And free tea is always a plus! But with so many other places to go to in the area, I doubt I will be back. *Sniff* -

Nothing is better than a hot bowl of pho to cure a hangover and I was super excited to try this place after hearing that they have veggie pho. Unfortunately, I was greatly disappointed.
Our server was very friendly and food came quickly. I ordered the vegetarian pho and vegetarian spring rolls. The soup was not hot enough, soup base was barely flavoured and the toppings was measly. Just a few pieces of broccoli, tofu and carrots. The spring roll looked like the frozen kind, was expecting the really greasy, deep fried kind. And, the filling? Almost non-existent.
Too bad, really hoping I would have another pho restaurant to go to besides Got Pho: http://www.yelp.ca/biz.... Still the best place for pho, veggie or traditional. -

I love pho. Just a little place in a cool neighborhood. The pho was fantastic, and the owner is really sweet.

Even though I'll eat beef stock I really love that they offer veggie stock.
Good, cheap, food. Fast service that never lets your tea run out.
Place is kind of dingy (especially the bathrooms) but for those prices, that service, and that yummy pho I don't mind. -
Review from Eva B.
We went here tonight and thoroughly enjoyed a huge bowl of seafood and rice noodles. I loved the broth, finely chopped and fried shallots and the fish balls. We also ordered a bowl of hot and sour seafood soup which was good, but just didn't compare. It also arrived about 10 minutes after the first dish.
I'm not sure if the debit was down tonight, but I think they only accept cash payments. It seems like a family run business. The staff/owners are very attentive and nice, but don't expect it to be polished. It is a diamond in the rough. However, by not hiring slick waiting staff and an interior designer they can offer very affordable prices, which include the tax. I would definitely go again just for the noodle soup. -

Came here for a late lunch after seeing it featured in the "Hot on Yelp" section. I've been meaning to try their pho for awhile now, since I go past it every time I go to my pho stand-by, Thai Son. (http://www.yelp.ca/biz...). Like Thai Son (and most Asian restaurants), it's cash only.
I had a small B7: pho with rare beef, tripe, tendon and beef balls. At $6.45, it's good value, but I've had cheaper pho elsewhere (ahem, Thai Son). There were a decent amount of toppings, and they gave lots of fresh basil - always good in my books! The noodles were cooked well, but the broth? Don't get me wrong, there wasn't really anything terrible about it, but I'm used to a richer, more flavourful broth (again, Thai Son), so in comparison the broth here seemed a little insipid. Still, I was hungry and polished it off. The small was the perfect size for me.
Great service here too. My food came out quickly, my server (the owner) was very friendly and gracious, and my bill was settled promptly. If you're in a rush, I suggest walking up to the cash register to pay, like I did. You'll be taken care of immediately.
Final verdict? It's okay here, but by no means ousts Thai Son from it's status as my favourite go-to spot for pho. Maybe I'll come back for their supposed legendary vegetarian dishes. -
Review from Mandy R.
This is the best vegetarian pho I have ever had in my life. Let me point out that I am not only vegetarian, but not really a soup or noodle person. I've tried pho at a few places and very quickly gave up because vegetarian pho with vegetarian broth is generally boiling hot, mildly spiced water with a bunch of bok choy floating around in it.
My mom dragged me here because she lives for their rare beef pho, and I grumbled alongside because I was promised that the veggie salad wraps were decent. Alright, alright. They're pretty decent.
She dragged me back again on a day when I was coming down with the flu and insisted I just try the veggie pho (she hadn't before, but couldn't see how this place could do wrong). And... damn. So, so incredible. They actually have a vegetarian menu on the back page that has about 8 different items. I've eaten them all and I inevitably forget which is which, but they're all good. They have a lemongrass tofu over rice that is heavenly. The vegetarian soup is a sweet tomato broth with red-hot chili peppers to season it, meaning it's just spicy enough (but watch not to bite down on one of those little guys). The tofu in it is heavenly. They will give you as much basil, bean sprouts, and lime as you can hold. So, so good.
This place is cash only so don't be a sucker and hit an ATM. If you're a regular, they'll let you keep a tab. I'm surprised at the reviews saying this place is slow, because in my experience, the beef pho takes like 5 minutes, and the vegetarian meals a little longer (which makes sense to me, because they pump out beef pho all day, but the vegetarian stuff is made when you order it). The atmosphere is not pleasant, but who goes to hole-in-the-wall pho places for the atmosphere? Don't be a dummy. This is the only pho place in Mount Pleasant, as far as I'm concerned. -

I always end up going back there. The food is so tasty that it's hard to not like it. The meat is always cooked to perfection and the meals are pretty cheap. So far everything I tried on the menu is great.
It's a typical Vietnamese restaurant with a large choice of food, and amazingly everything is very good. -

Close your eyes or sit facing the TV. Don't look at the kitchen. Contemplate the sweatpants and uggs combo your server might be wearing. Realize the motherly figure is actually just talking to someone on the phone through her hands free set. Steer clear of the salad rolls, the off-smell alone will make you wonder if post-feed-sickness is eminent. Ask for your bill or you might be waiting a long time while they eat too.
But why put up with the dirt? The static TV? The fact it's cash only? Because pho B6 is delish! Big, bold broth, lots of noodles, and crunchy bean sprouts. When you're eating to rid your body of a hangover, nothing other than pho will do. And it's a good thing that Pho Linh does this one thing well. -
Review from David L.
My sister decided to take us to a Vietnamese restaurant because the dining options at the P.N.E. were rather limited. I wasn't prepared to eat corn dogs, mini donuts and cotton candy for lunch. So, we headed to Pho Linh.
Pho Linh is a medium sized restaurant and the friendly server immediately served us tea when we sat down. I ordered beef pho. It was served in a massive sized bowl.
The pho smelled very beefy - great! I drank some of the soup, man, it was very salty - not so great. The dish came with a smaller dish of garnishes. I had to put the garnishes to balance out the overload of the sodium.
The coriander, Thai basil and bean sprouts were all fresh and it added flavour and texture to the dish. The noodles didn't have much flavour, but it was almost the same league as Mr. Noodles instant ramen to be exact. Sadly, the beef just tasted like plain regular beef. I didn't taste any other seasonings or special ingredients. The beef slices were also hard and chewy.
The service was friendly, and there were many refills of tea, and the presentation of the dishes was nice.
In short, skip their beef pho and order something else. -

This is a little family-run place across the street from Kingsgate Mall. You'll often find their family and kids there trying their darndest to be well-behaved and muting their own laughter in front of the customers. It's quite endearing and entertaining
Good tasting pho broth, with fresh ingredients. A bit on the basic side, but that's what you want sometimes. The menu has enough to suit the soup lovers, noodle fans, and the meat n rice crew. Friendly service, and very casual. A good place for a $20 dinner for two. -
Review from Renee C.
I would give this place 4*s if the service was a little bit faster....there were 5 of us...and we ordered 1 spring roll and 2 portions of a dish out of "the 3 course of beef" menu.
I know my Vietnamese food because my nanny was Vietnamese and I visited Vietnam twice with her in the past. I practically was fed Vietnamese cuisine growing up since I was 2.
The food was pretty authentic here, but it took well over 45 minutes to get our food on the table....Thank God I snacked a little before.
The result was worth it, the spring rolls were crispy and full of good stuffing, and the beef dish was fulfilling.
I would come again only if I could call 1/2 an hour before to order and arrive just in time for the food to be served.Listed in: Vancouver, BC!!!!

The first thing you hear when you walk in is the comforting chatter of motherly middle aged women. A standard family-run pho joint, pho linh is a local hole in the wall that is respectable, open fairly late (10pm most days) and always gets the broth and noodles just right. never greasy, fragrant, and delicious!
my only qualm here is that there's lemons, not limes. bean sprouts are always fresh, as is the basil. (unlike other places that will try pawning off their older produce, sometimes....blech.)
Small bowl (which is plenty enough!) will run you 5:75 or so, Large, 6.50. "B2" - rare beef is done with effortless perfection. Copious amounts of tea provided with a generous side of genuinely friendly and sweet service.
Cash only, veggie option (tofu) available and (according to friends, quite good!). -

Pho is straight up comfort food for yours truly, the kind that you get a craving for and nothing else will really do. I'm also a vegetarian, and when most Pho places prepare their stock for the soup in the traditional way, that is to say, from hella beef. These factors usually combine for frustrating visits to Vietnamese eateries, me all sulking over yet another crappy veggie brochette with vermicelli while my less constrained friends taunt me with their delicious smelling bowls of noodles and sprouts.
I recently read an article in the Georgia Straight on the topic of veggie and vegan friendly Pho, and was surprised to see Pho Linh, a restaurant I have walked past inumerable times without ever giving more than a quick glance, because, well, it looked kinda dingy. Turns out that impression was correct, as I walked in last night the place looks kinda rundown in that way that so many cheap vietnamese eateries do. The server was very nice, and very quick to seat us and fetch my friend and I menus. The veggie options weren't plentiful, but I didn't much care since I was there for one thing, and one thing only, a delicious bowl of veggie noodle soup. Being that my appetite was mighty, I also ordered some veggie spring rolls. The food came quickly, and I was slightly disappointed to see a plate of tiny spring rolls of the non-vietnamese variety. They tasted fine, but I had been hoping for the kind that you get served on vermicelli, you know the real big crunchy 'uns. Slightly disappointed, I took a quick taste of the soup. Not bad, certainly better than a lot of the flavorless veggie water I've had served to me on occasion, and the veggies and tofu in it were still nice and crunchy. Of course, I felt the need to pour in like half a bottle of sriracha, that magic transformative that makes even the crummiest food a conflagration of spicy deliciousness. My companion commented that it was a bit greasy, but I was too busy blowing my nose and wiping the sweat from my brow to notice.
Bill for two came to about $20 and the staff was content to let us sit and jaw for a good hour or so after our meal, which we did despite the lack of ambience. It's a solid 3-stars based on the cheapness of the eats, and mid-level quality of the food. I don't know that it's worth a trip to East Van for, but I'll likely visit again if I'm in the hood and catch a craving. -

Really friendly service with always a perfectly cooked bowl of pho. I love all the little touches of details like a small sprinkling of freshly cracked black pepper on top of the onions, chopped cilantro and scallions.

NICEST Vietnamese owner EVER!!! Owner-lady is SUPER sweet and accommodating. And hey, the food is pretty darned good too. One of the best non-sweet pho broths. Grilled items are REALLY grilled. Large portions, great prices and nice hostess to boot. What more can you ask for?

We love this place and travel from UBC to go! We have been going for 3 years and it is still the best Pho in town! Always have the spring rolls (veggie option is awesome too) which are handmade daily and come with yummy dipping sauce. The hot sauce is also made inhouse and is delightful, just enough heat to add the extra yum factor! The rare beef noodle soup is perfect, exactly what you need on a blustery cold rainy day! Always super fast friendly service! Try the Vietnamese iced coffee with condensed milk (although not before bed!). Will not disappoint! Open lunch and dinner. Cash only. Don't forget to tip!
