I absolutely love this place. I always eat here or at the south location at least once a week! The food is always hot and fresh. The green onion cakes here are a must have. You get a sizeable portion to share and it's hot fresh and delicious. I normally order the #32 - grilled pork vermicelli bowl. If you're a pork lover, this is a must have. You get a bowl of vermicelli with the grilled pork, some julienne carrots, lettuce and cucumbers. You also get 2 spring rolls and bean sprouts.
If you're into soup and you're new try the #18- chicken pho which is just vermicelli chicken onions and cilantro. They're soups are really simple..you pick your meat and they all come with vermicelli. The great thing about this place is that anyone can eat there..you can customize your soup to your liking. If you like different sauces or spice, you can add it as you like. They also give you bean sprouts, mint and lime on the side for the soup.
I've been to all of the Pho Hoa locations in the city and if you're looking for authentic pho, I would definitely would recommend this place! -

After a long client meeting, I came to Pho Hoa for a late lunch -- we wanted something quick and something deliciously Vietnamese.
The place was packed with lunchtime eaters, and people from call walks of life enjoying delicious noodles and pho. I ordered a vermicelli bowl with BBQed beef and spring rolls. Everything came out really quickly, and was delicious. The service was OK, but we could have used some quick tea refills.
I'll definitely stop by here the next time I'm in Chinatown. Good, quick food. And next time, I'll try the Pho! -

I'd only been for pho twice in my life before checking out this Pho Hoa the other day. For some reason I was mega craving pho over the weekend, so my lovely friend Dianne took me out for some on Monday night.
The place wasn't very busy around 6:30pm. The service was quick - tea came out right away and was refilled quickly when needed, and our food also came out very fast.
I didn't even look at the entire menu, but skipped right ahead to the pho page. It's cutely split into three categories: pho for beginners, just the regular, and the adventurers' choice. At this point I think the only two things I'm not ready to try are tripe and tendon, so I got the Ph Tái Nm off of the "regular" menu - round eye steak and well-done flank. You can get your pho in one of two sizes, regular or large. I got the regular (I think around $7.50) and it was still huge! I couldn't finish the whole thing. There was a ton of meat in there - too much for me, I had to leave some. The broth was so flavourful and kind of sweet and yum. I'm not a pho expert, so it's hard for me to describe the flavours, but I loved it. So good, hot and fresh. I've been craving pho ever since.

Pho Hoa is the place that got me hooked on pho -- Vietnamese soup filled with meat and rice noodles.
The soup base is chicken or beef, with a load of rice noodle, some vegetables, and the customer's choice of meat such as chicken, brisket, or meat balls, as well as the choice to create one's own custom bowl from a variety of ingredients ranging from the basic to the exotic: fatty flank, tendon, and tripe, to name a few. My favourite is the chicken pho.
You can also get vermicelli bowls, which are almost like Pho without the broth. The grilled chicken bowl is a portion of seasoned, grilled chicken, noodles, raw vegetables, and preserved carrots, garnished with peanuts and served with fish sauce to the side.
I always order an iced Vietnamese coffee to drink. Pho Hoa has another Edmonton location in West Edmonton Mall. -

I keep coming back to Pho Hoa over and over again because this place offers good, simple food and fast service. I have never actually sat down and enjoyed a meal at this restaurant because I always order take-out. I have been to this restaurant enough times to not even ask for the menu when I come in, since I already know what I want. And what I want are summer rolls and chicken pho. The broth is fantastic, the meat is tender and not overcooked, rice vermicelli are perfect. Plain, simple and delicious!
On the menu there are many different kinds of pho, rice plates and vermicelli bowls. I have tried prawn, pork and vegetables vermicelli plate, and it left me stone cold. Everything was too dry, and unimpressive, and so I stick to my chicken pho. -

It's part of a chain so you get the standard Pho. Only thing to note is that the soup is on the oily side and the prices are cheaper than the ones in the states.

This place is good for quick fix pho. They have several chains in North America.

I've come here for their warm soup and spring rolls and really enjoyed myself in this space that is the colour of Pepto Bismal. Everything's pink, and I kinda like it. The food comes quickly, the service is courteous and my meal was good. The only annoyance is they don't take debit, cash or credit only. But when I went in, the machine was broken. About half of the places in China town are cash only, which is a pain in the butt, but a lot of places are making it easier for customers by providing more payment options. You can pick-up and take-out here. They've got dinners for two to eight, and you can choose from 35 items, or order individually off of their menu of 110 items. This is quality food and they've got both Chinese and Vietnamese classics like Foo Young, Chop Suey, Pork Dumplings, Green Onion Cakes, Pho soups, and Creamy Peach Prawns that I haven't yet tried, but I tried them at Sukothai and will have to get them next time.
