Review from Ellen B.
I love this store. As a cat lover I spend a lot of time wandering pet stores, looking for new treats and toys. This place has everything.
Very knowledgeable and friendly staff and owner (I believe her name is Ally, correct me if I'm wrong); huuuge selection of pet food, from Purina-type foods to more specialized and grain-free brands; and of course Stella, the resident cat. Stella now has to share the store with some kittens up for adoption from the SPCA, but she's getting used to sharing the patrons' attention. ;-)
Agree with other Yelpers that it is a bit pricey; however, I don't find it more expensive than Global and I honestly prefer the service and selection at Pet Valu. -

I love my cats. Biggz and Molz (they are gangsta). But, as much as I love them, they can be a royal pain in the ass when they are hungry. Biggz especially, he will bite fingers and noses, not hard but enough to let you know he wants his kibble. PetValu is close to my apartment so when I'm in need of kitty food i'll head here if I have none left. Although not my first choice for a pet store in the HRM, PV does a pretty good job. They have tonns of healthy and natural grab for my boys, lots to look at , and ouuu and awwwee over.
There are no animals inside but their resident cat who will play with ya. I wish I could remember her name, she is a nice kitty. I love kitties....Crazy cat lady, I know, I know!
Items can be abit pricy, but that's what I expect from pet stores in general. It looks like the quality is there and I know that the boys enjoy their healthy food. They have lots of toys for your furry friend, Biggz doesn't play too much with anything besides socks and elastics but we have found some feathery fun toys for him, and Molz he love the catnip and honeysuckle.Listed in: 30 Day Yelp Challenge

Wandered in recently and at first glance its your typical pet supply store. Foods, toys, health care supplies etc etc.
Staff are helpful enough, and pleasant.
Personally I found them to be pricey. Picked up a package of 2 (or 3?) Chuckit balls for the dog, only to go and find them $2 cheaper at my regular supply store. The food I feed was also slightly more expensive. They're not leaps and bounds off the mark, but they're definitely pricier than other options. -

I accidentally stumbled on this place while in the area yesterday. This store must have just opened recently and is a new addition to Clayton Park. It feels like a higher end pet supply store but is very comparable in price to other pet stores in the area.
It does not carry any animals so you're not supporting backyard breeders or poor housing conditions. It has items such as pet food (dog, cat and small animal feed), pet treats, toys, beds, pet carriers, leashes, food bowls, etc. One thing that really stood out about this store, is that it carries items I've never seen anywhere else. The dog toys in stock were toys I've never seen before (I bought a couple for my dog and she's been squeaking them nonstop every since). They have a pretty big collection of dog leashes and harnesses which are modern and stylish. The quality of items seems quite high and the staff were very friendly and attentive.
They did not carry my brand of dog food so I will still have to go to my regular pet supply store for that but besides that, I really liked this store. If you're getting bored with seeing the same leashes, toys and items at the pet stores around here, definitely check this place out.
