I love Petsmart! They have very good prices, and always have a good stock of what I want. Plus they have new things all the time in case I want to get something different. Their cat section is large and always has a good selection of toys and stuff for my kitties!
I also LOVE to check out the adoption centre, but as I already have 5 cats, I can't adopt anyone else. -

PetSmart always a reliable place to shop for your dogs and cats and other pet supplies.
On a Sunday afternoon, this particular PetSmart were packed with customers and their doggie friends.. good place to bring if you want to socialize your dogs especially when it is cold, windy, rainny, snowy...outside.
For my dog food, I won't be coming to PetSmart since they don't carry the more premium brand like Fromm, Orjen or Merrick... But I love their selections of toys and other accessories (I got a inflight carrier bag for my dog for a reasonable price)Listed in: Business Where My Dog Uses!, A Day in Leaside!

I really like PetsMart. Their prices are good and they have almost everything you could possibly want for your cat or dog, probably other animals too, but I only have a cat and dog. The only knock is their product selection, which falls sort of in the low to mid-range category. For example there are leashes that detach at the handle so that you can tie your dog to a pole, without having to unclip the leash and loop it through, while you go into a store. PetSmart has these leases, but only the lower quality versions ($20). If you want the nicer version ($30 - 40) you would have to go to more of an independent type pet store.
Our dog went to Intermediate dog training here (because our beginner provider wasn't offering it) and it was quite good. It's kind of odd doing the training with a bunch of people (and dogs) shopping all around you, but you get over it quickly and the distraction is good training for the dog in any event. The price of the training is also very reasonable (I think $160 for 8 weeks). If you do go for the training try to get into Julian's class, he is very good.Listed in: Dog Spots

I like PetSmart in general, however I find the staff at this location particularly helpful and friendly.
It is always fun going there, although I usually end up buying more toys than I meant to!!! -

This is the only place that carries my dogs' brand of dog food, Purina ProPlan.
It's also the most reasonably priced place in the city to buy dog biscuits in quantity.
I have a lot of dogs going through my home, and this is where I do my bulk purchases.
My doberdog, Logan, always loves this place, as he usually comes out with a new bone .... AND, I can guarantee the staff at the grooming area will get his nails clipped!
Totally worth the drive, and the $10 to get them to trim his nails, which is normally a nightmare experience.
Even when they're really busy with grooming, they always fit him in for his quick nail trim -
The grooming staff is WONDERFUL at handling my huge beast-dog, who HATES getting his nails trimmed. He's also a 'screamer' which has sent a few 'groomers' running, in the past!
But never at PetSmart!
They were also the ones that suggested that I'm not around to "assist" (aka coddling!) during his nail clipping session, as Logan is a screamer, and takes full advantage of his sensitive (&over concerned!) mommy.
Who'd know, this was the key at turning his nail clipping into a very short procedure!
It also leaves me a few minutes to tour around the store, while Logan is left in good hands .. within those few minutes, as a cruise back to the grooming station, his nails are all trimmed down, and his little nub is wiggling in delight, knowing he survived and how proud I'd be of him ;)
This staff at PetSmart is the only crew I trust with trimming Logan's nails - they're quick, confident and never leave me disappointed, nor Logan traumatized. What else can a fur parent ask for?
Plus, Logan gets to travel down the bone isle, picking out his delight of the day!
It's a win-win situation! -

As sad as it may sound, I could spend a fortune in here. I am one of those people that thinks her cats actually care about new toys and new flavours of food.
This place, as like other Pet Smart stores, is huge. It has a great selection of toys, brushes, beds, etc for all kinds of animals.
I do wish they carried more high quality brands of foods. Wellness, mainly. But if you do some searching around you can find some great foods here without unnecessary fillers.
I always find everyone here really helpful, you're never in line too long, and there are some good sales once in a while. It is usually pretty clean, except once there was a garbage pail by the front door with a bunch of dead fish in it. It wasn't the greatest greeting but taught me a good lesson about the circle of life... I suppose.
Anyways, yes, this is my place of choice when it comes to buying pet stuff. -

As a former American, I am used to PetSmart and its larger big box pet stores. When I lived in Ottawa, PetSmart was all over, but it seems to have a problem with rents in Toronto, as this is the only one in Toronto proper. So I have a choice of traveling here or to North Mississauga.
I much prefer it to PetValu, which I find small and limited. The other pet stores near my High Park address are pretty yuppy and out of my price range.
Plus, PetSmart, curiously, carries a full line of a Canadian made food which I tried by chance and really happen to like - TechniCal. Their lamb and rice dog mix has no corn (which gives my boxers and sharpei gas) and uses brown rice. It must taste good, as the dogs seem to like it more than other previous foods they were on.
