How can you not love a store that has everything to do with animals?! I appreciate the fact that PetSmart offers adoption services for animals (as mentioned in previous reviews - I believe the most fulfilling/responsible way to bring an animal into your life is to adopt and PetSmart goes over and above to try and bring about public awareness in regards to this which, to me, shows a genuine passion for animal welfare rather than profit only).
The selection there is always great and the staff are usually very attentive, knowledgeable, and always around to help. If you keep your eyes open (and subscript to the email notifications through their pet perks program) they actually have pretty good deals once in a while, although typically prices are slightly steeper. I was there with a friend and his dog once and we had just mentioned getting his nails clipped while walking past their grooming room. One of the staff overheard us and informed us that the first nail clipping would be free and offered to do that for us right on the spot! Quite impressed with that as they seemed to be very gentile (getting a dogs nails clipped makes me kind of nervous from past experience and hearing many horror stories of clippings gone wrong).
Excellent return policy on most things as well - including rawhide bones and such - if your pet hates it bring it back for a full refund!
Only reason I didn't give a full 5 star rating is due to their reptile supplies being a little lacking. I have a turtle and can find basic supplies there but, unfortunately, I am stuck going to PJ's Pets for many of my lighting and filter replacement supplies.
Although prices may seem higher I think this is a great pet supplies store to support. Especially for those who have a genuine interest in animal welfare who are looking for a more socially responsible company. -

I took my puppy do grooming in there twice times already, Y i turn back there,cos first time(last month) i been there ,they do vy vy gd job.
But yesterday i bring my puppy to do the service ,after 3 hrs i go pick up my pup ,i can hear she crying vy loud ,when she come out so happy to c me. So when i back to car i check her nail,i wouldnt believe it , her nails some is bleed n some look like broken, also first time been there ,my pup can keep good smell two days ,yesterday when i smell her,she only have abit of fresh smell . i m vy disappointed with there service yesterday .
i guess there need to depend on which staff on duty . :( -

Petsmart is one of the only pet stores I will shop at in Edmonton. A true pet owner (or animal "lover") would NEVER shop at a pet store that sells dogs and cats (re: PJs Pet Center, which is an abomination and sells abused puppy mill dogs and cats - do your research). I respect and appreciate everything they do with their charities, grant programs, and adoption days with local rescue groups. Pets should be adopted out, not sold.
The staff at this location are informative and genuinely caring. I like this location the most because it is in a convenient location and has a huge selection.
Most important of all, Petsmart is the only place I have been able to find Charlee Bear dog treats. My girls cannot live without their favorite treats! -

Petsmart is a great pet store on the south side. It is probably one of the better ones on the south.
It kind of reminds me of a zoo. You can go in, walk around and look at all the animals. Sometimes they will pay attention to you and sometimes they won't, you can't feed them, etc. It's such a big store and has so many pets that its kind of nice just to look around. You can also find loads of pet accessories.
They also do grooming and offer training classes here. The prices are competitive with most other places but the selection is really what sets it apart. -

The Staff here are excellent. I've always found them to be very helpful.
I really appreciate that they leave the door open to the cat adoption area, as socialization is super important for the development of cats and dogs alike.
I find their product is good quality and they have loads of selection.
I will definitely be returning when I need pet advice or supplies. -

This pet mega-store is one of the best on the south side! I find the employees very helpful and for the most part, the prices are reasonable.
I took a dog training class through Petsmart and it was a real bang for my buck. The instructors were very helpful and friendly and answered questions before and after class. (They were also really good about giving us plenty of notice if class was cancelled.)
As far as selection goes, this store has it all! I find myself spending much more time in this store than I plan-- There is just so much to see! Employees have helped me find things on more than one occasion and even though this location is a little farther from my house, I take the extra time to go to this location. -

I like this Petsmart.
I love walking in here and having little puppies and big dogs walking down the aisles will me. It's so cute and so fun!
We used to get my dog groomed here. She was very tough to groom because she would shake all the time - she didn't like people she didn't know.
They were always gentle with her and they treated her really well.
It's a great place. They take good care of your pets.
They also have a million things! Everything you need for a pet, they've got it. It's kind of like a Walmart for pets.
