Review from Shari M.

How many Petite Thuet locations does there need to be?! Apparently, 4.
This place is tiny. Cute chairs inside, very cafe and relaxed vibe. But again - T I N Y. On my recent visit there was not much selection. I grabbed a latte and a chocolate croissant.
Now, epi breads makes an absolutely amazing chocolate croissant. Petite Thuet's was good, but just can't compare. What is lacking with this baked delight is the flaky texture and almond essence. Sure, it has the buttery flavour that makes your arteries gasp, and the chocolate is quite divine, but, aside from some slivered almonds on top, the almond flavour is pretty much non existing.
I would describe this pastry's texture as more bread-like instead of flaky. I prefer my pastry flaky.
The latte was okay. I think I make better coffee at home in my coffee maker.
For some reason P.T. has the corner on jam here. There must have been about 40 jars of jam spread out over 3 spots in this wee little shop. At $8 a pop....I passed.
Total cost of 1 chocolate almond croissant and 1 large latte - just under 8 bucks. *cough*
Would I go back? Probably not. I can make better coffee at home and go to epi breads to get my chocolate almond croissant.Listed in: Mid Town
