Review from Lisa C.
My boyfriend has been talking about Pete's since we met and for dinner on a night before drinking, it sounded like a very good idea for dinner. We headed in around 6:30 on a Friday and they weren't too busy but they're pretty fast at hammering food out.
I didn't really know WHAT I wanted so I ended up with my staple chicken fingers while my boyfriend got his usual steak sandwich. This place seems like a definite local joint that you could get very used to if you lived in the area. My meal came with chicken fingers, fries, plum sauce, gravy and a drink for under $10 - whatta steal!
I watched them make my boyfriend's steak sandwich and that thing was HUGE! I could probably balance it on my open palm but it was the size of a side plate or something! I'm not into steak though so i didn't ask to try any, but he gets it every time and swears by it.
The chicken fingers portion was huuuuuuuge. I couldn't eat it all, which was fine because later we heated it up after the bar for a late night snack :) I don't think I would have been able to finish it even if I had been super hungry. Four chicken fingers, huge huge chicken fingers and lotsa fries - soooo very good. Nothing out of the ordinary for chicken fingers, but they were definitely fresh and tasted pretty good :)
Overall, it seems like you can't go wrong here, they have quite a bit on the menu to choose from and super reasonable prices for a cheap and fast dinner. I'll definitely be back to try out something more adventurous in the future! -

Pete's is close to where we've lived for 5 years, but we never went in until friends suggested how good it was. We were definitely not disappointed. The burgers were excellent and the fries were nice and crispy. We used to go to Starr Burger, but not any more. Pete's is our new favourite burger place.

Its not bad. Shake, Rabble & Roll down the street is better (IMO) . Pete's is touch and go....Sometimes its good, other times its not cooked well enough or burnt. The portions are good. And when the burgers are good... their REALLY good (they melt in your mouth)
All in all, not too bad. We're not overly crazy about the layout, its a bit cramped, and closed in (the dining room part of it) but love the 50's Diner decor.
He's also got some great selection... Different things that you don't usually see at local establishments such as the Deep Fried Mars Bar and Mango Milkshake.
Customer service-wise, Pete and the staff are always friendly and always glad to see the customers (unlike some other unmentioned local burger establishments)
Pete's is definitely worth a try for anyone who hasn't been there. -

Pete is a nice friendly guy
He greet all customers and smiles a lot
You'll get your burger or other stuff like you expect it
Great decor if you like Lucy,
the 3 Stooges, old cars,etc.
Gotta try it = worth the trip to beautiful west of downtown Whitby
Some competition for North End Burgers..... -

Burgers are delicious. Lots of toppings. LOVE the hot pepper relish. Onion rings and fries don't disappoint and the chocolate milkshake was so good!
