I am so glad for this place - because it eliminates the need to travel up to Dufferin mall or the strange little grocery store/pet food store around the corner of King & Dufferin. Besides the convenience factor(which is great, because when I just realize that I have no cat food an forgot to get more, I can run out in the PJ and pick'em up in a snap), here is actually someone I can talk to every so often when I have a question - whether it is a satisfying answer or not, that is better than a big "I dunno shrug" that you would get from the aforementioned places.

Another thing i really like here is the friendliness of the staff - they are always willing to help you, offer advices and help you carry things to the counter - which, is part of the job title but often over looked by those who hold that sales associate title.

They aren't open until too late but just late enough to pick up the essentials on your way home from work, and open 7 days I believe...yes - have a visit. it's good there.

It seems as though my experiences here have been totally different from that of my fellow Yelper. I recently fostered a special needs cat who was still on special food for a urinary track infection due to abuse and neglect. He had come with a small, bag of food and I wanted to see if this location carried it. During my visit here I found the staff very nice, patient and knowledgeable. It turns out my cat is on a special vet brand but the girl was still helpful by suggesting like-products and alternate foods that could be suitable for him.

In the end I left with a few cans of premium cat stew which the associate explained will help my cat get more moisture since he hates his water and his regular food is dry kibble. She went over suggested portions, meal times etc...
All in all it was a good visit and I would recommend this location to friends.

I discovered this store "by accident" on my way back from the Global Pet in Liberty Village. It is a new business and it looked interesting from the outside (their sign uses nice graphics - not a typical bold blue font over the plain white background like the other stores of this chain). I got curious and stepped in to explore. The layout was nice, long aisles easy to search, lots of merchandise, though I noticed that prices were higher in many instances compared to the GLOBAL PET. The two "kids" - a teenage boy and a girl - running the place were loudly carrying on about their party life and other social events of the sort, but that was just boredom I suppose. There were no other customers there except for me.
Pet food selection was rather disappointing - better brands (except for grossly overpriced Wellness) were not in stock and I was rather aggressively informed how bad they were for pets ( though the girl never even heard of the brands I mentioned) and how they caused serious health problems to animals. Anyway - it was obvious to me she was ignorant of  the basic nutrition knowledge regarding dogs and cats, as well as extremely aggressive trying to literally bully me into buying  products she had in stock. At that point I had enough, so much for a nice browsing time. They certainly lost me as a client (and I shop regularly and I am a very loyal customer). Ignorance, aggressive manner, simply rude behaviour, unacceptable in  a customer service industry convinced me the place is to be avoided for good.
The "knowledge" imparted to me by the "kids" that cats eat mushrooms and berries in the wild was the icing on the cake.
Needless to say I didn't purchase a thing to the disappointment of the bully sales clerk. With this attitude and the lack of variety of quality products, overpriced items I hope they fold their business quickly. Who needs that sort of thing around?
Global Pet will see me much more often from now on.
