Pesto's is the perfect place for a sandwich, plate of pasta or just a great lunch. Like an Italian version of "Cheers", Pesto's is warm, friendly with a wait staff that is comfortable with it's clientele. Its unassuming exterior in a conveniently-located strip mall near Scotiabank place and the Sensplex mean that whether you are a resident or a visitor, a quick stop to Pesto's should be on your schedule.

I stopped in here for a sandwich at lunch. The place is pretty cool looking. It's an Italian-style deli where you can pick from a nice selection of deli meats, cheeses, pastas, sauces, olives, and olive oil to take home. For on-the-run meals, they sell sandwiches and pasta at very reasonable prices. They also have coffee and espresso.
I had a small Calabrese sandwich (salami and eggplant). Normally I would order large, but I guess they were out of large bread. The small was still quite big. They used two kinds of salami and were pretty generous with it. It was a little spicy. The eggplant was a pickled slaw which had a lot of flavour. I don't think there were any condiments on it, but it didn't really need it. The bread was fresh and crusty.
The best thing about this place, in my opinion, was the reasonable prices. A small Calabrese and meatball sandwich was about $12.50 after tax. The larges are cost a dollar more, and I imagine they are an even better value.
I guess my only complaint is that it would be nice to see more fresh vegetable options on display, as it would be nice to add some lettuce or fresh onions to my sandwich, if I wanted.
I definitely recommend this place. -

Small little sandwich and pasta deli. If you didn't know about it you could easily drive by and not notice. This is the reason why I tried it, I love small local gems. A large sandwich of deli meats $5, small is $3.50. Lasagna is $7. Chicken Parmesan is $10. The large sandwich will easily make a large lunch! It's delicious fresh bread, tasty deli meat and even the mustard tastes great. The deli meat actually smells delicious! The service is great but try to avoid rush hour, the place gets packed. All in all much better to get a $5 sandwich here then $5 sub at subway. I would easily pay $8-$10 for their sandwich.
They also sell premium olive oil, cheese, olives and deli meat! Coffee and espresso is available. -

Great place! Fresh ingredients, very tasty. Ask for "Roberto's special", not on the list.
