I have always loved this restaurant for its food, service and ambiance.

Every time I go I get the painted potatoes.  There are so many options of what sauces or veggies to put on the top and all of them are delicious.  The small size is plenty for me and not expensive.

A must have here is one of their chai lattes, they are so flavouful.  Desserts are very hard to choose between.  They have really big vegan date squares, but there is also an amazing dense vegan chocolate cake.  If you want something small there are little cookies that you can take out with you.  I usually get the date square, but a friend brought a chocolate cake to my dinner party the other night and I have been thinking about it ever since!

The service here are great, all the workers have a very calm, zen-like and serene attitude.  It is really nice to study or relax here.

First of all, that is one mouthful of a name over there!

From now on, I'll refer to it as PSPVR. Ok, so PSPVR is not what you expect when you walk into a calm, sky blue roomy that is airy. There's a fridge of sandwiches, samosas and other treats that they can warm for you as well as various drinks. There is also a menu of larger meals that they can whip up fresh for you.

My friend and I were going for a light breakfast so we spit one order of the baked samosas and a sandwich, warmed and panini pressed respectively. The samosas were delicious and came with a nice sauce to cut the small spiciness. The sandwich was very fresh and full of melty cheese but also, nothing very adventurous or OMG. She cut it very unevenly for us to share but we figured it out.

At PSPVR, the coffee and food is brought to the table with the fixings. Water is in a jug on a table with slices of cucumber in it. Small cups! The people that work here all wear Indian Sari's, which is a bit odd to see that early in the morning but also calming? Also, watch out because it's quite a maze to get to the washrooms.

Anywho, the bill came to around 12 dollars and we both left feeling quiet satisfied! Keep your eyes peeled; you might miss it.

So after a long flight I have made it back here the  cramped seating area is full of a interesting cross of people all enjoying the food, atmosphere and company.  The food is really good i am enjoying the vegetable chile with a few side dishes and if the trip I am on was not so short I would be back, oh well a future trip then.

Merely steps from the University of Ottawa campus, through an inconspicuous doorway, and a few downward steps is a fairly well hidden vegetarian haven. This cozy but well lit little eatery is known for its creativity and care in producing delicious and satisfying vegetarian dishes.

The simple, but inspired menu features hearty salads such as the rainbow ($8.50), a large variety of "painted" potatoes ($8.25) with a long list of tasty toppings to choose from,  and an assortment of mouth-watering desserts such as my personal favourite, a vegan, wheat-free carrot cake ($4.25).

Come rejoice and be satisfied, my vegetarian and veggie-fare loving friends alike!

I lived just a few blocks away from this delight and loved to stop by on my way home. Every time I'm in town, I make sure to stop by for a bite!

Their regular menu is divine (I generally opted for a half & half baked potato), but some of the specials (the soft taco in particular) were a special treat. The desserts, though great, don't last long -I have waited in line only to have the person ahead of me take the last slice of cake : (

The staff is friendly and helpful. The setting is small, but accommodating -you can always order take-out. The food is delicious, and even my meat-eating friends have enjoyed their meal. Quite filling. It's always a pleasure to come here, and I always leave feeling better and more relaxed -food for the body and the soul : )
