I go here on a regular basis. If you like to have your nails done frequently (I get acrylic) and don't care about all the bells and whistles, then this place is for you. Perfect Nails is right next door to Broken Yolk in PB. I always request Kimberly, who is a master at her craft. Manicures and pedicure always include a nice massage. Now that it's a bit colder out, they've been using a warming lotion with the neck massage...which is a nice touch! Be sure to get a stamp card for your pedicures because once you fill it up, you're next one is free!
Note: They accept credit/debit cards, but charge $1 extra (make sure to add your tip to the total). Cash is accepted, but not checks. -

Very rude and unprofessional...
Being a guy and a nail biter...its tough enough to walk into a nail salon. What makes it worse is when the techs speak zero English, get an attitude with YOU over the language barrier, then walk away. That's right- the tech stood up, slammed her drawer shut, and walked away!!!
If you're a guy looking for a non-humiliating experience- go to Christine's Nails across the street. -
Review from Noelle D.
My pedicure was right in line with ones I've had in similar places - no worse and no better. My pedi has lasted for a good while. The people were nice and the place was clean.
I had a little facial waxing done which was completely new to me. I was terrified I was going to come out with tiny creepy kewpie doll eyebrows but the waxing lady managed to do a good job of grooming them a bit without making them look terribly overdone.
Highly recommend a dual visit between this salon and the black pearl bar next door. I think they're great at referring customers to each other!Listed in: Yay I visited San Diego, girl

Kim the Manager did my fill and within a week 3 of my nails lifted. There is a sign outside that says, a fill is $14.99. Ahe charged me $18.00. I said the sign outside says $14.99. She told me since she had to cut and file my nails it is an additional $3. I had never heard that before. She told me she was already giving me a discount because she didn't charge me for nail polish. WTH?
The place was dirty. There were cobwebs and dust and they never took the stickers off the light fixtures. If I wasn't in need of a quick fill that day I would have gone back to Chula Vista where I originally got them done.
Needless, to say I won' be back. -

Right next to my house, friendliest place I've ever been too, best quality, best massage I've Ever had at nail salon. Got gel mani and deluxe pedi. Don't do it any other way ;)

I've been here twice now for a regular mani-pedi combo for $31. This place is right next to Broken Yolk and I've always found parking right out front on Garnet. They are across from a strip mall, so there is always parking. BONUS for PB. They have 9 new comfy chairs and the owner usually will come over and say hello. They gave me a hand, arm, shoulder, neck, calf, foot massages for a really long time!
You can't beat this place! The price for the quality makes this place Groupon-Like without the Groupon ! Just every day pricing.
These gals work so hard and I appreciate it and tip well !
They also do waxing and regular massages as well. I think that this would be a good place for a man to go for maintenance grooming (toenails and fingernails) because they could always sit in the back chairs and no one would ever see them.
Also, there is never a wait and sometimes multiple gals will work together on you which makes you feel like a Rockstar ! -

This place is great, I go here on a regular basis. I've tried other nail salons but nothing compares for the price. The massage is so long & the pedicure lasts forever. Even a massage for a $10 manicure...fabulous. Totally worth the $30 mani/pedi. Don't forget to get your stamp card after 10 pedicures the next is free. I recommend this place to all my friends.

Perfect Nails is fantastic, completely worth the price and the massages are longer than any other nail salon. I don't like their brand of shellac though, it comes off quickly and is not good for your nails, but for regular polish I would highly recommend!

My Friend Kirsten made me discover this place. Mani/Pedi for $30 is awesome. It's clean and the massage is so good and long.
They take their time with each customer no matter what.
I try to go during the week so it's not as busy. -

This is my FAVORITE spot ever!!! everyone is super sweet, they give the best serves. I only go here! not to mention there's a bar next door so if you have to wait a few minutes go grab a margarita... yum! I love how they give each limb a massage, it's so wonderful. Whenever i have friends or family in town I always bring them here!

Amazing! This place is the best of all worlds - cheap, very friendly staff AND do a great job! I got a spa pedicure for $18.00 - pretty much unheard of in North County. There is absolutely no discount in service to match the discounted price - they do a great job. James did my pedicure and he spent a ton of time on me. I walked out of there with perfect toes and feeling totally relaxed (he spent ages on the massage part).
From watching the people around me, it seems like the other technicians do a wonderful job too. The girl next to me wanted a very elaborate design on her toes and had trouble expressing exactly what she wanted. The owner and technician had all sorts of color and design suggestions for her and were very patient. The girl's toes came out looking great and she left very happy.
Perfect Nails is huge and there were a lot of people working there so no need for an appointment. That's also a big plus - usually if you walk into a nail place on a Saturday sans appointment, you're totally out of luck. -

Absolutly ridulious. Wouldnt not return. Review bassed onr acrillic nails only. I was started with a woman who ripped my nails off with a look on her face like it was her first time. Half way through, i almost walked out, the real tech walked in, and took over, rushing me, making me uncomfertable the intire time. Only time she smiled was when it was time to pay. Will never return!

I love Perfect Nails & Spa! Whenever I go here, the owner or his wife greet me with a smile. They recognize their customers and try their best to keep you satisfied. Besides the nails, the technicians provide the most relaxing complementary massages! Sometimes I feel so at ease, that I fall asleep. (This has happened more than once, and the staff laugh at me.) Most recently, I saw a photo of "Ninja Nails" online, and thought it was the coolest idea. I walked in without an appointment, and asked if they could do this design for me. They barely hesitated and said they could try. In the end, my nails were kickass and I was pleased that they are willing to work outside of their comfort zone to make customers happy. I recommend coming here if you're looking for a decent price and good service. I'll be back again and again. Thanks!

So, I'm kinda torn. I think if I were able to give half stars, this place might have been 3 and a half stars. I felt that what was good about the place was really good, and what was bad about the place was really bad. Here we go:
Pros:
*The spa pedicure was amazing. I would come back here just for the pedicure. With the three different cremes and lotions they end up putting on you, it ends up being like a 30 minute massage. Be sure to say how hard you want your massage though. I like it rough, and have some bruises to prove it today!
*The massage chairs that you sit in for the pedicure are pretty nice. A more substantial back massage than some other worn out chairs at other places.
* Parking is really easy in this part of PB. Just park in the big lot across the street if nothing is available on the street.
* Lots of nail color choices. They use OPI, which I think is a sign of a better salon.
Cons:
*I have acrylics and I felt the fill left a lot to be desired. I have a feeling I just got a bad nail tech because she missed spots on my nails with the gel and I had to buff out the edges of my nails after I left. They were so sharp, I could have hurt someone.
*The chick who did my manicure also left me a few times to help other customers.
*The owner guy tried to steal my pedicurist before she was done with me to start on someone else who walked in. I did not appreciate that. She ended up pointing out that there was another woman who was available so she could stay with me.
* The decor leaves a lot to be desired. There's a couple of tv's, but I recommend just picking up a magazine or bringing a book.
* It really bugs me when nail technicians talk about the customer. Now, I don't speak or understand Vietnamese, so I don't know if they were talking about me for sure, but their body language made me suspicious.
* $1 charge for credit cards and they don't have the type of receipt where you can write in the tip, you have to tell them before they run the card if you want the tip included in the total.
I will give perfect nails one more chance. If the fill is not good next time, then I will not return after that. However, if you are looking for a really nice pedicure, then this place is for you. -

San Diego, CA
i wish it hadn't taken me 7 years to find this place! after a year of visits, i was sad to go but i moved to miami and i'm struggling to find a nail place here that compares to Perfect Nails & Spa!
the services have recently increased in price, but only by a dollar or two. they are worth it anyway. i have only received gel and regular manis, pedis and pink and whites but i have always been pleased with the service. they don't have their own parking lot but you can always find free parking in the lot across the street (i think there is an asian buffet restaurant there). often, if you go before 3pm on weekdays they are not busy.
this is one of the few places that give regular pedicures using the spa chairs and tubs. i'm not down for the whole bucket-of-water-on-the-floor thing (how is that even SANITARY?) set aside at least an hour for this service because they pamper you with LOOOOONG massages at no additional charge. at least 10 minutes using the lotion/scrub and oil!
another bonus is their use of quality products. the majority of polishes are OPI, and they often have the latest colors and patterns available. if you want something that they don't have, just ask Lan and he will order it for you!
the owner (Lan) is really nice, friendly and chatty. he takes pride in his salon and services and is there every SINGLE day. he has often shared with me little tips, tricks and secrets about nail care that most nail techs would never tell you! (like how some salons cut corners to get you out the door faster)
Sheila was my fave for a mani--she has amazing attention to detail and is really sweet. James and Kim are good for acrylics, gels and pink and whites. don't be afraid to ask for what you want and be specific! they repeatedly ask if you like what they are doing throughout the service which i really like. if after i leave, i notice a bubble or chip in the nail polish, they have always fixed them for free (provided i didn't wait like a week to return). holly gives great pedicures and really cute, quick nail designs.
this review is long because i was a dedicated customer and i loved their work! i would never "cheat" on them with another salon, even if they offered cheaper services. i can no longer go there since i live across the country, but the tips Lan gave me will give me the confidence to be assertive about my needs if and when i find a new salon. -
Review from Amy S.
Definitely am not one to venture out of my salon routine loyalties no matter if it is my hair or my nails, but a friend back for spring break and a very limited pocket book sent me away from my usual jaunt to Qticles down the block.
Perfect Nails and Spa looked questionable when I walked in but decided not to judge. The silence between employees and people like myself getting treated always makes me feel awkward. My friend and I chatter boxed it up seeing as it had been since Christmas since going anywhere together.
I was thoroughly not impressed with the job that they did, but I am a fan of their HUGE HUGE color selections of polish! A nice change from the usual reds and pinks that swallow up all nail shops. I ended up with a light springy looking orange.
For my pedicure and tip all together it set me back to 20 bucks. Not bad at all, but it wasn't worth any more than that. Not really impressed but if you're broke and need a quick touch up or a cheap girls day, hit this place up.Listed in: Remember The Digits

I desperately wanted to give this place 5 stars because the lady who did my acrylics was very nice to me. I came here on a whim because it was closer to me than Essential Nails (which i love going to for manicures and pedicures). However, based on my full set of acrylic nails it would be terribly misleading and wrong to give them any more than 2 stars. 2 stars is me being incredibly generous...
I do not get acrylics often, and I am not super picky about how they turn out. However, mine turned out very thick, and as soon as i returned home (from a short 5 minute walk), the glue on white tip had already seperated from my nail. She did brush on a gel coat but she was in such a hurry that it was uneven and didn't cover some parts of the nail. It was also bumpy and had fibers and plenty of bubbles. She also didn't clean underneath the nail afterwards, so I left with the edge of my nails still glued to my skin and fingers because of the extra run off acrylics. Two of my nails were also horribly crooked, like they were pointing to the left (hehe).
So remember how I said the white tip was already gapping and seperating from my nail? Well, because of that I ended up getting debris and dirt in between my nail and the tip. FUCKING GROSS. I tried to take it out with a metal hair clip, which worked for the most part, but I shouldn't have to do that shit.
Anyway, one week goes by and the acrylics are lifting from the bottom near the cuticle already (not even alittle, but A LOT, all the way to the TIP). I did not bother going back to them to have them redo my nails, because number 1, I HATE complaining for fear that they will do an even worse job, and 2, I couldn't get anyone to babysit for me to leave my baby until the weekend anyway. From a distance my nails looked good. Right afterwards they looked decent, but then you realize how bad they fuct up your nails...
Needless to say, I went to a different place where I have gotten acrylics done before and they fixed everthing from the gap/seperation, cleaned out the gunk etc. Now my nails look pretty and thin and shiny. Even though they are close to home, id rather drive to go to a good place for acrylics. Never returning here again. -

Anne was incredibly friendly and thorough. She took her time massaging my legs that were in desparate need after all the late night cramping that pregnancy has brought. The place is nothing fancy, could use a splash of color and fresh paint. This is the only reason for the 4 star. Customer service from everyone I came into contact with was fantastic and quality was awesome. Will certainly be back.

This is right next to the Silver Fox. It's only been open a few months, but is a Gem!
I've only been there 2 times, but they give you free cute little water bottles, are so precise, attentive, thorough, and give the longest, best massages! omg.
They do a great job & they're very inexpensive. A pedicure was only $17 and a manicure is $10. They also do waxing & other spa procedures.
I really recommend them, they have the best massages!!!! -

Ok so I recently moved here from Phoenix and I've been looking for a good place that does Acrylic nails. Well I had my nails done here a couple of times by James and I though he did a good job. But the second time I noticed they started breaking very easy so I decided not to go back for my nails. Started going to Nails by Ann in Clairemont.
The Pedicures however are really good, they've done a good job on the pedicures and they last a long time. I went almost two and half months with the french tips but then I had to cut my toe nails and of course that cut the polish off. But I've never had a pedicure last so long and still look good. Plus the prices are reasonable compared to Phoenix. I definitely would recommend getting a pedicure here. -

They change their attitude or will lose all of their customers!!!
Really, if you don't want them to screw your day, DO NOT go there!
This has been my nails place for quite a while; service being OK, and price good. However, today... it was UNACCEPTABLE!
I went there with two of my girlfriends. Summing up, they charged my friend for a job she didn't get done.
This lady had an attitude from the beginning, and seemed to be rushing to finish. Apparently she didn't want to do the job (manicure).
We were having a girls chat and she was pulling my friend's arm, treating her very rude. She was upset with us because we were talking.
My friend just asked her to do it in a smooth/nicer manner, because she was hurting her. In fact, she did cut her.
Well, all this lady (if can be called 'lady') did was yelling around, complaining about us being rude to her. Unbelievable!
We received the WORSE treatment! The worse customer service. The worse manners. The worse everything! -

Tried a lot of nail places and this is by far the BEST! I will not go anywhere else... Everyone is so nice, the prices are great, they do a great job on your nails, but the massages are what set them apart... they give the LONGEST and BEST hand & feet massages ever!!!! Highly recommended!!!!!

I recently moved back to PB and immediately had to find a nail salon that would become my "regular" place,
Perfect Nails was the first one I came to because it is super close to my house and has OPI nail polish (a must for me!). The girls were all very friendly and the customers that were in the salon getting treatments done all seemed to be enjoying themselves. My mani/pedi came out perfect, just as I had asked and the best part of the entire thing was the massage. It lasted forever! I have since been back 4 times and each time has been equally as good as my first visit. Make sure you ask for the frequent visitors card, buy 9 pedicures, get the 10th free! -

Since moving to PB I have tried so many nail salons along garnet and this one is the best of them all! It is inexpensive (comes to 26$ for spa pedicure and manicure) and they do a great job. Good foot massage! They also give you a stamp card, once it is full you get a free pedicure. There are a huge amount of chairs and I have never waited.

Review from Kelly G.
Easy to find being between Broken Yolk and Silver Fox. Small space with 8 massaging chairs for pedicures along wall. They were able to take me as a walk-in & had 4 other patrons on a Friday at 5:45pm. My pedi was okay -- water was lukewarm, but the massaging was very generous. Deluxe pedi $32 -- including treatment for calluses (I hadn't had a pedi in 6 months!). Extra $1 charge for using credit cards (Visa, MC & Discover) & be sure to put your tip when they review the total. Parking along Garnet w/ 2 hour zone. I will probably go back since it's walking distance from me!

LOVE IT! I came here for a spa pedicure, and they did an excellent job for the price! They give super long massages, and don't cut corners when it comes to nail care. Friendly staff and quality polishes, too. Overall, a great experience. The only con was that the massage chairs didn't work very well...but the leg and foot massage more than made up for that. This is my new favorite pedi place!

I just got a great mani/pedi at Perfect Nails. The girls that work here are very friendly, and take care in their work. They had a high attention to detail, and took their time to do a good job. It's not a fancy place, but the prices are very reasonable and the service was great. I'll definitely be back!

I have been going to Perfect Nails since I lived in PB four years ago. It is a simple little shop that consistantly provides very nice work. For the most part, they really take their time and do a good job; I've had pedicures done there that have lasted several weeks and still looked good! Only one time did I feel 'rushed' and even then the manicure I had looked pretty good. It is also easy to walk in and get in without waiting. The parking can be a bit tough, but that is pretty standard for PB. Overall for the prices, perfect nails is a great place for a manicure and pedicure!

This is by far the best nail salon ever!!
I was never the type to regularly get my nails done. But after the first time at Perfect Nails and Spa I was hooked. Everyone was very nice and welcoming from the moment my friend and I walked in. The water was hot which I love! there's nothing worse than a lukewarm spa pedi. The massage chairs are wonderful (I recommend put the heat on, it's so relaxing). The owner then brought over a complimentary bottle of water to each of us. they also offer tea if you prefer. As mentioned in another review, the staff doesn't try to talk to you endlessly which is nice when you just want to relax. And the pedicues are amazing! The massages are so long, even with just a regular spa pedicure though I highly recommend the deluxe spa pedi at some point.
My friend and I now make it a bi-weekly appointment so we can treat our selves to a little slice of heaven while catching up with each other as well. Yes, I now drive bi-weekly from La Mesa to P.B. to get my toes painted because it is SO worth it. Even if my friend or I can't make it at the usual time, we will still make it there somehow on our own because we just can't miss out. Oh, and they have frequent visit cards where your tenth spa pedi is free. And the prices are very affordable.
I love Perfect Nails and Spa! This place is Heaven!
