Review from serbelle i.
Aptos, CA
-can i say beautiful?
-one of my x's drove me up here so i can "cross the border", and it wasn't taco bell
-we were both clueless how the hell i was gonna get into canada so we asked the border patrol stationed right infront of the gate
-"just go str8 in, park at the very end and walk all the way down into the border. it's not far, less than a mile and a half" sounded easy, ok coo
-so we park the car and walk down...it was a great day, sun out and a little breeze in the air
-there's so many different flowers, beautiful trees and greenery
-there's "american kitchen" which you can rent out for a day for events...that can fit 100 people inside and another 400 for outside
-i have a thing for gazebo's and playgrounds and this park has both!
-so we get to the end of the path and the peace arch was right there!
The International Peace Arch stands astride the international boundary between Surrey, British Columbia and Blaine, Washington. "The Peace Arch Rises", one foot anchored in American soil and the other in Canadian. Standing tall as a physical symbol of an imaginary line that stretches 3000 miles.
Poised above the international boundary of both countries the Peace Arch represents the longest undefended boundary in the world. Dedicated in 1921, it is the first Monument built and dedicated to world peace.
-but no pedestrian walkway...just cars passing by trying to get to the border check
-my ass was confused, my x wanted to take a pic of me with the arch but i was nervous about what to do to get across so no pic for me lol
-some really friendly washington people kinda told us just to walk up there and get into "that building over there" pointing to the left
-i say bye and thank you to the x who also by the way drove from LA for a day to help my ass move into my new place HUGS! no boners lol
-so here i am, dragging my pink hard case hello kitty luggage on the lawn leaving wheel marks on the grass in my santa cruz sweatshirt, uggs and a black prada overnighter slung over my chest
-i get stares by the people passing by in their cars.....lol wut? that's how we roll! hello kittaaayyy!
-i get to the building and say "i don't know how to do this but i need to get into canada..." history from then on
-LET PEACE BEGIN WITH ME, LET THIS BE THE MOMENT NOW WITH A LITTLE HELP FROM MY FRIEND HELLO KITTAAAYListed in: the "let's get to baby makin"…

Review from Ken L.
Beautifully maintained park listed on the National Register of Historic Places provides a short reprieve as you wait in line to cross into the United States. The main attraction for me is the "Welcome to the United States sign as you get in and the Peace Arch monument. The 67 ft monument is jointly maintained by the US and Canada built back around 1920. Many of the green lawns and gardens decorate and join the two borders with about a hundred or so picnic areas, playgrounds, fields and short trails. The parking lot has space for over 300 hundred or so cars and there is also an option to rent their 1,500 SF kitchen with a outside picnic and stage area. While you are there, snap some photos by the Arch and at the border. Sundays in August there is an Asian Concert Series if you are around the area(check out http://www.peacearchpa... for more details.)

Review from Nancy B.
Cuyahoga Falls, OH
The American side features a small sculpture park and kitchen that is available for rent. Wonderful assortment of media well spaced over a nice cared for lawn. Not many walkways so we had to tread lightly across the warm spongy turf on a 55 degree January day.

Some nice scenery to enjoy while your waiting 2 hours to get back into Canada. Some people get out their car and play badminton & Frisbee. Either way it's a long wait glad its there.
