I go to Pawsitively Natural as Gloria, 'the groomer is really quite awesome. I have a Komondor who is generally suspicious of strangers and can get growly about having things like his feet done. Gloria always seems to get the best out of my "Buffalo" and work w. his comfort levels. If we don't always do everything in one visit I know that she has respected my Kom's limits for that day & we'll do it the next visit. Gloria is patient and always willing to accommodate my schedule as best she can too which so many groomers will not do. The rates for grooming at Pawsitively Natural are about the same as I always paid when I was in Vancouver, not on the high or low end..sort of middle, and for the work done, 'they feel fair. Parking is easy, 'the location is very central & if you can't get there right when your pooch is done, 'the environment is relaxed enough even for my Kom..'to just hang out while waiting for Mom. Gloria & Pawsitively Natural are a natural choice for expert grooming!

I love supporting mom & pop stores and try to do so as often as I can. I agree with other reviewers. Alistair the pig isn't in the store as often as I'd like, but when he's there, it's always a treat!
The dog food is a bit on the expensive side, so I tend to buy it elsewhere. I do love to stop in for dog treats though.
The groomer there is fantastic and that's one of the top reasons I go there. The price is reasonable and it's one of the FEW places where my pooch comes out looking EXACTLY like I want him to. Check out the groomers!!! -

Alistair is a pig, and I love him!
My first visit to this store was on a special day...it was Alistairs birthday. He was upfront in the store with a wee party hat on..( have to say though I dont like when people dress up animals, but this didnt seem like too big a deal for Alistair) and they were giving away crave cupcakes. There were streamers, Alistair was snuffling away and cheerfully receiving pats from his admirers. So THAT was my introduction to this little place.
LIke most mom and pop pet food stores you will find that the prices are higher than at somewhere like Petsmart etc. It is understandable as they dont have the volume of sales. The products they do have though are excellent, wonderful products for your beloved pets. It is clear that the owners of this store love animals and want nothing but the best for thier customers pets.
I will admit that I tend to go to Petsmart, but do like to pop in here to pick up a few special treats for my kitties and see Alistair. It is so cool to have a pig in my neighborhood and to go to a piggy birthday party is something that I have for the memory books.. Long live Alistair, mom and pop businesses and all those who love animals. oink oink.. ( that was Alistair)Listed in: For the love of our Fur Kids

Not going to lie the biggest draw about this place is the animals.
One of the ladies who works there has a beautiful dog she has in the shop with her. And of course, the resident piggie Alistair.
The products here are very high quality and you will pay a little more but you'll be getting better stuff for your best friend and that's what really matters isn't it? There's also a community memo board that posts things like news and pictures about Alistair as well as dog walkers in the neighbourhood and other pet-related events happening in Calgary! -

Right after I moved to Calgary, I took a walk to get to know my new neighbourhood. How excited was I to find I had a pig for a neighbour? SO EXCITED.
I don't actually have a pet, so I didn't get to shop here too often, but I visited many times on my way home from work to pet Allister. He's gotten so big! The owners are friendly and will let you feed him apples, which is adorable and messy.
They carry loads of moderately priced organic food, as well as toys and accessories. The staff are friendly and helpful. But don't go for the staff, or the products...go for the pig. -

Besides being an independently owned pet store, the more appealing attraction PN has is its resident pig Allister. Allister's pen greets you at the door and according to his father, the owner; Allister has a Facebook page of 400 friends. More FB friends than I, Allister.
The store is a very modest, simple establishment and it is run by a very likeable fellow, he took the time to bring Alli from the back of the store to meet me and they both showed me his trick of sitting down for a treat. Alli tried to sit again for another treat but his papa was all to savvy. One treat is enough, now don't be a pig about it.
PN carries mostly supplies for dogs and cats and the prices there seem quite reasonable, it seems to be a large store and equipped with toys, food as well as a nice section of sleeping accessories for your furry friends.
So yes this yelper likes PN and especially her new friend, I just hope he doesn't reject me on FB.
