if you're able to venture out of Québec City for a few hours, definitely visit this beautiful historic site. This gorgeous waterfall is taller than Niagara.
We visited at the end of the summer and the welcome center was packed. "Binoculars" are set up to view the falls during different times of the year, including fireworks at summer and snow at winter.
You can take the cable car to the top of the waterfall or the stairs. Have your camera ready, lots of picture opportunities! We were lucky to catch a rainbow looking down from the bridge.
Manoir Montmorency, a beautiful home built by Governor Haldimand, is a restaurant that we ate at for lunch. The carrot soup is quite good and be sure to get the chocolate shell and chocolate mousse dessert. -

A perfect "entry-level waterfall"! :-) Quebec City is beautiful by itself, and Chute Montmorency only adds to the attraction...
Everything is neatly organized and safe, this is a great place to go with children. I would suggest taking a cable car to get up top, snapping photos around, then cross the bridge over the waterfall and walk down taking stairs. Prepare to get wet - lots of water vapour in the air!
In terms of sheer size and scale Montmorency waterfall is nowhere near even the Niagara falls, let alone Iguazu or other huge waterfalls - but it is lovely and perfectly prepared for the tourists.
Parking prices are a bit elevated, and it is difficult to find this place without a GPS as there are no useful signs around - which is the reason for a four star rating. Otherwise - a good place to go. -

It's always a pleasure to see scenic nature landscapes, like waterfalls. Montmorency is a fairly nice landmark in Quebec. It's pretty tall, and you can walk over the waterfall on the bridge, or take a gondola ride across the water. On the far side there is a large stair system scaling the side of the hill bordering the waterfall.
But, have you ever been to Niagara Falls? If so, this place is not worth the visit. If you are only interested in seeing the waterfall, be prepared to spend $10 to pay for parking while you spend 30 minutes walking to the waterfall, touring it, then walking back to your car. Also, while the concept of the gondola is nice, it's also overpriced.
I suppose it is worth a one time visit, but only if you are already in Quebec City. -

A must-see while visiting Québec! Breathtaking views.
There are walking trails and hiking paths where viewpoints offer impressive views of the falls. The view from the suspended bridge over the falls opens on the falls below, the St. Lawrence River and the île d'Orléans. Our tour bus guide stated that if one were to walk entirely (round-trip) on The Bridge Over the Falls one would be a described as a hero; otherwise if one were unable to cross entirely one is a chicken. My Mom and I are both heros for crossing the bridge entirely! Le Pont De La Chute Waterfall was not intimidating!
The long haul walk of the suspended bridge as well as the walking trails was refreshing to clear my head of the recent hardships and struggles infumed in my professional and personal life.

If you are spending a day or more visiting Quebec City, you should come to these falls. They are JUST outside the city and are beautiful. I went in February on a Monday and everything was closed, but like everywhere else in the winter in Quebec, everyone just ignores the fact that it is so cold and so the area was full of walkers and visitors anyway.
The giant stairs were closed (for good reason, they were practically buried in snow) but we walked over the ice and found an igloo! Some people built a fantastic igloo right in the middle of the frozen basin.
The falls were partially frozen and the mist and spray at the bottom created a gigantic hill in the ice and someone carved stairs into them and you could climb to the top. Others were ice climbing on the rock face, too.
The views from the suspension bridge was cool - it is a great place to check out the frozen River. Even though I am from Boston - the weather and the effects on the surroundings were still impressive. Us Bostonians complain about weather, but we have nothing on the quebecois! -

If you're leaving Quebec City headed east, get ready for a pretty spectacular view on your left. Seems like this has happened to a lot of people and luckily the Quebec transportation authorities have built a turnaround to head back west so you can stop off at this beautiful waterfall.
You can make your visit to the falls into whatever kind of experience you're looking for. If you want a more leisurely excursion, take the cable car up to the top of the falls, grab a bite at the restaurant, saunter across the suspension bridge and then ride the car back down. If you're feeling more athletic, you can take the stairs or do a little hike in the woods behind the falls. As you explore the grounds around the falls, there are many little areas to stop and take in the view from pretty much every angle possible. Beau-ti-ful!Listed in: The QC

A must see destination if your are visiting Quebec City!
Located just east of the city, Montmorency Falls is spectacular and the park allows visitors to get as close as possible for the best views.
A boardwalk extends around the bottom of the falls and makes for some great pictures. If you are brave enough, you can take a tram or climb a series of stairs to the top. No visit to the park is complete without traversing the suspension bridge over the falls. The views are truly fantastic!!!
*** Great place if you are into photography. While up top, be sure to check out a small fortification built by Wolfe during the French and Indian War. -

Parc de la Chute-Montmorency is a amazingly beautiful waterfall just miles away from Quebec City. Taking the stairs to the top is a great work out, strolling on the bridge over the waterfall is lovely, and the views from the top are amazing! Definitely worth a stop over if your visiting QC.
