The name Paper Papier is perfect for this store. Obviously it sells paper, but it is necessary to say it twice, just because of the quantity that you can find here. Wow! The store is huge and filled with note cards, stationary, options for weddings, envelopes, stickers, ribbons. Everything you could imagine when you think of paper!
The owners travel to Europe to scout out their paper and it is actually made by designers.
A good excuse to send some good old fashioned snail mail.
Staff are friendly, but give you space to explore the store. -

Staff is a little indifferent. When I arrived, the wind had knocked over a few of the potted plants at the front door. The staff glanced at me as I picked them up, then returned to their conversation.
After a few moments, I asked for help and was directed to a large table and a bunch of binders to fend for myself. I took my $ for wedding invitations elsewhere... -

Paper Papier is an institution in Ottawa and among the best of the best in the Byward Market. They always have the perfect card for every occasion , whether you want something sweet, sentimental or just hilarious. They also have tons of gorgeous calendars, notebooks, wrapping paper and other gifts. The staff couldn't be nicer and more attentive. Simply put, it's a pleasure to shop here.
