Decent pizza in North Burnaby.
We ordered some this afternoon after missing lunch. I know, I know, what foodie can manage to skip a meal??? It was more of a case of eating my lunch for breakfast and I then found myself starving shortly after the lunch hour.....
So we dug through the gigantic pile of menus we have here at the office, did some internet researching and voila! A pizza order was born!
Firstly, the website is a bit confusing. Even more confusing is muddling one's way through a website and thinking that we understand it only to find we were on the wrong website. This isn't Ontario, Toto!!!! Once we found the right website, it was still a bit confusing - their specials aren't very clear.
We decided we'd just go for a large Greek pizza. We were getting too hungry to think.
Delivery took about 40 minutes. Pizza was reasonably priced.
Greek pizza was nice, even though there were no green or red peppers on it. Or onion.... No onion, although my coworker might have asked for it without as I sometimes hate onions....
Crust was perfect. Quality; good texture and lovely taste. The sauce was ideal; seasoned but not too spicy. Not overly bitter as some tomato based sauces can be.
We definitely will order from here again -

Looking for pizza on the way home from work and ran across this place. It looked interesting so we went in and ordered a take out pizza. About 25 minutes later we were home with a hot pizza.
We ordered the Prosciutto and Mushroom pizza. First impressions were not that great. The pizza was very heavy with a thick, chewy crust. The prosciutto was more like jerky than a pizza topping. And to top it off it was expensive and small.
Maybe it was just an off day for them, but I don't think we will be back. -

It's to hot to cook and ordering out midweek was my solution. My husband wanted to try Pap Joe's as he remembered loving it when he was a kid visiting his cousins in Vancouver. We ordered up two mediums and some wings. Way too much for the tow of us, but I like variety. The pizza arrived really quickly, which was super nice and everything was piping hot. The pizzas were so heavy! The thick crust was loaded generous amounts of toppings. The sauce was a sweet marinara that was a little overpowering for me, but my husband really liked it. The cheese was fresh and not of the processed variety which is a plus in my book. All in all, a good pizza.
But I could only give Papa Joe's three stars because of the wings. They were obviously baked, not fired and thus a bit soggy. And they were still dripping with grease. I can deal with baked wings if they are moderately more healthy than their fried counterparts, but greasy and soggy did not make me happy. The favor was nice with just the right amount of spice, but the Papa really needs to work on those wings. -

Went here for lunch and asked for pizza, but the only stuff they had was what looked to be day old, crunchy slices. I asked if they had any fresh slices and the man assured me it was fresh, so I got a slice and a spinakopita. Sure enough, it was rock hard and still cold, eventhough the guy microwaved it... The spinakopita was ok, but would have been better fresh. All in all it reminded me of my high school cafeteria, which is not really a good thing.
